Hiking Sedona—Brins Mesa Ridge, The Best Secret Spot Revealed

In this video we reveal a secret magical spot that few people will find.  It is a difficult but manageable hike for fit and coordinated people (leave kids and pets at home).   The destination is up the "big rock" to the left, with a 360 degree vista summit, an unbelievable backdrops, that overlooks the best of Sedona.

This wild location is world famous for beautiful pastel colored sandstone located in a high desert filled with manzanita, juniper, and the awesome spherical yucca plant known as Dasylirion whelerii.  It is not uncommon to see rattlers and other desert creatures in this magical place.  Many come to this area for hiking and rock climbing and others come for healing and to deepen a connection with God or Divinity.

It is amazing how many tropical fruits grow on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Many people here in our hometown of Hawi, Hawaii have told us they have never tried Jackfruit.  These large prickly fruits can be seen hanging from trees, often on the side of the road.  We have been blessed with the opportunity to process, taste, and grow many exotic varieties of tropical fruit, including star fruit, mangos, apple bananas, jackfruit, durian, and white pineapple. In this video, we share some of that experience.   

 Jackfruit poses interesting challenges; knowing when it is ripe by its smell and color, and how to open it up without making a sticky, latex mess.  This time-lapse video will help you take full advantage of the next Jackfruit that you come upon.  It will also explain the benefits of hunting for a jackfruit with crunchy pods and the importance of using olive oil when processing the latex-filled fruit.

Incidentally, this video also offers a great example of why positive parenting can save you a trip to the Emergency Room.
