That there are approximately 350 different pasta shapes around the world. Italiens often insist that the shape you cook with can affect the taste so you should make sure you pick the right one if you want to impress. ;-)

...when you put tonic under black light, it’ll shine bright blue. It’s not magic sadly, it’s because it contains quinine which reacts with the light. Special, right? This was the conclusion from an experiment done in France. The reason for the experiment was to see how our surroundings affect our drinking habits and to encourage bar-owners to think about how they make a special and nice drink!

...that the most expensive burger costs $5000. There are plenty of expensive burgers out there. The 666 Food Truck in New York City offers a burger with truffles, foie gras and Himalayan salt for $666. But the most expensive burger? It goes to Fleur de Lys At Mandalay Bay, in Las Vegas, which offers an astounding $5000 burger. It’s a lot, right?

Some delicious food from around the world!
Hey everyone!
My name is Rani and I am the chef from Going Global. When Alice, the owner asked me to join this concept, I was so excited. I have always been interested in other cultures and their food. So when she told me about the concept to take our customer to a trip around the world, I was happy. People need to open theirself to learn about other peoples their cultures.
My job is to make the food with my team. We tried to make a menu that represents all the different parts of the world: Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, America. Soon will be our menu at our blog!
I hope to see you soon at the restaurant!

Hey there! Welcome to going global!
Hello everyone!
My name is Alice and I am the owner of Going Global.
When I was young, I loved two things: traveling and food. My parents saw that this became a passion of mine, and when I became 18 and had finished high school, they asked me if I wanted to go to a special school so that I could learn how to work in the catering industry.
After a study of 6 years, I graduated and decided to start my own restaurant. My passion for food would soon be satisfied, but I knew that I couldn't do my work properly if traveling wasn't a part of it. And that was how I came on the theme of the restaurant: a world kitchen.
The menu became a list of typical dishes all over the world, and every month I still travel to discover new servings of food to add to our menu. And of course, I don't do this alone. I've got a great waitress, an explicit bartender and an amazing chef who all help me in the restaurant and I'm really grateful that they're part of the team.
Traveling isn't cheap, but I hope that our restaurant, our Going Global, can bring people closer to the places they want to be. So come by and taste our delicious food, because together we'll travel around the world.
See you soon!

A lot of our dishes our tomato-based but did you know that back in the 1800s, people believed tomatoes had a powerful healing property for curing the likes of diarrhea, jaundice and indigestion. People took both ketchup and tomato pills in the hope of feeling better but the medicinal value of tomato-based medicine collapse in 1840 after many tomato pills were found to be fraudulent.
A shame really...

Take a drink!
Hello there!
I am the bartender from Going Global! When they asked me for this concept, I was so excited! I love exploring other cultures. It’s amazing how a special drink from a specific country can improve your dish.  It’s really interesting and satisfying to discover your own preferences and to expand your knowledge
My job is to make the cocktails and serve the beverages our customer's order. The reason that I really like the job is that I really like to put all the ingredients together to make the perfect cocktail. They’re always very cheerful because they like the way I mix the cocktails for them. It’s also very satisfying to put on a bit of a show for the people.
Come and taste a drink!
See you soon!
