hot take: i didn't like Tess' death scene. it felt like she was in control/had agency/etc in the games, which to me kinda smoothes over the tragic woman death to motivate hero's journey thing. in the show she felt desperate, helpless, overpowered, and yes she succeeded in blowing the building up but having the weird fungus kiss felt not cool to be but just sexualizing tess in a scene she previously wasn't
idk i thought this tess rules but the kiss especially felt like a bit of a bummer from tlou, which normally treats its female characters as people. i just didn't like it.

i don't like the i know i know when Sarah dies
game joel going don't do this to me baby was an excellent choice, it's such a selfish line and it feels right like that's the joel who's gonna doom the world to keep ellie alive because he wants that
#the i know thing just seems idk hollow like it says nothing#which is ig something about the overwhelming nature of the situation but idk#give me joel being fundamentally selfish he wants to keep his family safe bc it makes HIM feel better#it's not a nice thing right#anyway other than that the show is 10/10#but sarah's death was better in the game
