"No rules in breakable heaven* meaning
so I made this post about what "breakable heaven" refers to (tl;dr "breakable heaven” is about the fragility of love in the closet)
you have to remember the climactic line of cruel summer going into this discussion, i.e. "I don't wanna keep secrets just to keep you". the relationship described in cruel summer is a secret one. there's no way around that.
keeping that in mind: "no rules in breakable heaven" is about the freedom (and the fear) that their secrecy provides.
"heaven" here refers to their relationship. "breakable" indicates a fear of that heaven's destruction. when taylor sings "no rules", she's saying that their relationship can't be limited by society, because of their secrecy.
the whole phrase indicates a forbidden relationship. why are there no rules? an ordinary healthy heterosexual relationship doesn't have rules, you know? she could be using it as a stand in for "boundaries", but like... the connotation of "rules" is that society is involved. "rules" are made up by a group of people for things that affect that group.
so taylor says "there are no rules here." nobody is watching. nobody knows. but their relationship is still fragile, as implied by "breakable". the problem with secrecy setting you free is that discovery will destroy you.
"no rules in breakable heaven" describes both the liberties and anxieties of a secret relationship.
note: if you read "rules" as code for "boundaries", then it takes a darker turn. in that case, taylor's saying that their secrecy means they can do whatever they want with each other, but they can also do whatever they want to each other. they're free to hurt each other because nobody will ever know.

does anyone else get the vibe that midnights is an album made up of vault tracks? like bejeweled is 1989, sweet nothing is reputation/lover, paris is lover... maroon is 1989/rep... like it feels like these are songs written/conceptualised in other eras, but they didn't make it onto the album at the time, and Taylor decided to put them together as their own thing rather than making them from the vault tracks for the respective album rerecords.

What does breakable heave mean?
"breakable heaven" is about the fragility of love in the closet
think about a new romantic relationship. you're in the honeymoon period. you're obsessed with your lover. you can't stop thinking about them. you want to be with them always. when you're with them, you can't stop smiling and giggling and touching them. it's intoxicating. it's everything.
that's "heaven" - this fresh new relationship where you never fight and your lover is perfect and no one has ever been in love like this. and all the songs on the radio make you think of them, and you want to tell them every single detail of your day, and you want to know everything that's ever happened to them.
"breakable" is about fear of the relationship's inevitable end, which is a very common theme of taylor's. in wildest dreams, when she says "I can see the end as it begins". in delicate, when she says "we can't make any promises now, can we babe". in dancing with our hands tied, when she says "I loved you in spite of deep fears that the world would divide us". in dress, when she says "and if I get burned, at least we were electrified".
"breakable" acknowledges that this relationship is at risk. that "heaven" can't last forever.
this is true for everyone - the honeymoon period is impossible to sustain. but "breakable" implies a forceful, sudden end. and the context of the rest of the song - "I don't want to keep secrets just to keep you", "I love you ain't that the worst thing you ever heard" - implies that taylor's fear here is a fear of discovery. of being outed destroying the happiness she and her lover have built together.

wait what do you mean about the breathe post? she confirmed it???
Hi there, anon! So basically, you know how Breathe goes
Music starts playin’ like the end of a sad movieIt’s the kinda ending you don’t really wanna see‘Cause it’s tragedy and it’ll only bring you downNow I don’t know what to be without you aroundAnd we know it’s never simple, never easy,Never a clean break. No one here to save meYou’re the only thing I know like the back of my handAnd I can’t breathe without youBut I have toBreathe without youBut I have to
Never wanted this, never wanna see you hurtEvery little bump in the road I tried to swervePeople are people, and sometimes it doesn’t work outNothing we say is gonna save us from the fallout
I’m sorryI’m sorryI’m sorryI’m sorryI’m sorryI’m sorryI’m sorry
?
In this bts of Breathe Taylor and Colbie recording Breathe Taylor says “It was total therapy because I came in and I was like “look, one of my best friends, I’m gonna have to not see anymore and is not gonna be part of what I do and it’s, like, the hardest thing to go through”.“ and I can’t seem to find it but I promise you this one time in 2007, Taylor called Emily her best friend and then fast forward to 2011, we get a pop up edition video of Our Song with these pop ups:
And then in September 2017, Emily, now married to a man, found out about the song and joked that “the rumors are true” and “you should be careful or Taylor will write a song about you.“ and said she had to look up the lyrics.
So, yeah.

taylor had to walk out of her own living room when soon you’ll get better was playing at every lover secret session because she couldn’t bear to hear it. and that’s more that understandable. relating to that song is unbelievably painful and one of the worst experiences anybody could go through. unfortunately at the moment the amount of people who could relate to it is higher than usual.
so for taylor to share something so personal and vulnerable - something that up until now we know she has steadfastly avoided talking about because it’s too painful - in the hopes that it could bring comfort and hope to those people… that’s just so incredibly selfless and brave that i’m at a loss for words. i couldn’t be prouder. i love you taylor

karlie was the first to hear 1989, karlie was present at 1989 secret sessions, karlie was taylor’s date to the knick’s game which was a major promotional night for taylor and 1989, karlie went shopping with taylor for swiftmas gifts, karlie helped wrap and package swiftmas gifts, karlie recorded taylor wrapping gifts and taylor put ‘you are in love’ as the soundtrack for the video, karlie walked in the VSFS in both of taylor’s segments and karlie called her an honorary angel, karlie was taylor’s date to the AMAs where she won the dick clark award and performed blank space for the first time on a live televised event, karlie was part of taylor’s iconic vogue spread that recreated their big sur road trip aka the trip of taylor’s life, karlie taught taylor how to strut down the runway on her 1989 tour, karlie’s video footage of taylor made it into an exclusive ‘karlie kam’ section of the 1989 world tour dvd, immortalizing karlie as a part of the 1989 tour experience
all of this is just to say that there is no 1989 era without karlie kloss, you cannot remove her from the narrative, and i just wanna know when any other person in taylor’s life was this actively involved in both her personal life and her career at the same time? in summary, please bring back 2014 kaylor because they were at the height of their beautiful and supportive relationship/friendship/callitwhatyouwant and i miss all of this

i really can’t imagine what it must be like to be taylor’s ex. she comes to your 26th circus themed birthday party dressed as a tiger and you’re dressed up as a trapeze artist because the costume is cute and let’s be real, you’re the star of this party and no one steals a show like a graceful, daring trapeze artist braving the treacherous tightrope while thousands watch. so it’s a great birthday party, a great night, a great relationship, until it isn’t, and taylor releases the lead single from her 4th album, we are never ever getting back together and, now, on the RED tour, taylor turns her closing performance of her arena tour into a massive circus-themed number and she’s dressed as the fucking ringmaster while she sings about how you’re pretty much an asshole and exhaustingly annoying for thinking you could ever get back together, and this circus themed party performance may seem confusingly random to audiences but you know it’s her special way of personally saying “fuck you” to you on a massive production budget, therefore ruining circuses for you forever, along with every nice memory you had of that birthday party and probably your entire 26th year of life. in conclusion, no one is more deliciously petty than taylor swift, no one, not a single soul

honestly this video changes nothing for me (and probably most of you) because we knew she was telling the truth the whole time. and the fact that she let the world absolute eviscerate her instead of apologizing for something she didn’t do, standing by what she knew was right, is just further proof of the insane amounts of integrity taylor swift possesses. it’s rare in this day and age, even rarer in celebrities, but she’s fought hard to keep her integrity and character intact.
