I'm so so obsessed with the fact that normally giving someone a ring is a symbolism of union between 2 people. But when Felix gives Kagami her ring back in Pretension and Marinette puts on the wedding rings on Adrien's finger at the end of S5, it symbolizes Kagami's and Adrien's independence as their own individuals.

Yeah, this also goes in hand with how people viewed Ladybug facing the consequences over her approach as Guardian in s4. Some fans knew she was being messy and struggling, but other fans phrased it as "Ladybug is ghosting Chat Noir because she is a horrible human being. I'm glad she had her panic attack and emotional breakdown in Strike Back because she completely deserved it even though it wasn't NEARLY as much punishment as she should have had for her irredeemable actions. Chat Noir should've also shouted at her and told her that that everything was her fault rather than reach out to Ladybug at her lowest."

At some point, it starts to become less about being interested in storytelling potential and character exploration, and more about punishing Marinette because you have intense vitrol against her.

I don’t understand why people are so adverse to Marinette facing consequences for the decisions she’s making? Like yes I fully understand why she’s making the decisions that she’s making, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t also be facing repercussions from those decisions? That’s how stories work, characters make decisions and then things happen because of it.

The stroke people get over this fact makes me understand why some magical girl animanga opt to make the male population extinct in their series, at this risk of this fandom trend occurring.

Also people need to stop obsessing over the subtitle as proof. It always gets shortened to "Miraculous" or "Miraculous Ladybug". No one is constantly typing 7 words every time the show is mentioned.

I also don't think playing a support role or even being a damsel in some situations, is as horrible as people make it out to be. Some of my favourite series involve a character being a "damsel" because that is how that character fits into the overall narrative. Time loop series especially often have ""damsels in distresses"" so that we have an actual story and stakes.

if anyone is wondering why the ml fandom isn't as active as it used to be and why your favorite creators arent posting as much art and fanfic, it's literally because of the negative, nitpicky pieces of shit who cant shut up about how much they hate ml, the writing, the characters, season 5, whatever the fuck, coming onto every single ml post and flooding the tag with salt and half-baked criticisms. nobody can post anything—not even a simple text post—without at least one person coming onto that post and spouting some annoying bullshit. you are literally driving the fanartists out of this fandom

it's honestly impressive how much Feligami instantly made sense to me for someone who hadn't considered the ship at all until it was suddenly extremely canon extremely quickly.

like, of course felix would be immediately obsessed w the first (non-family) sentibeing he met. and of course kagami, who is so lonely and stifled by a controlling mother and desperately wants to feel wanted and craves affection, would be absolutely swept off her feet by a guy who saves her from having her willpower stolen, shows her this grand new world, explains to her the Secrets of Her Existence that she was never before privy to, is absolutely enthralled by her and cares about her opinions so much, wants nothing more than for her to be herself and make her own decisions, and is literally just her ex-boyfriend but with the personality she'd wished her ex-boyfriend had. of course they became instantly obsessed with each other. of course their relationship would move quickly. they don't hesitate and they both feel like theyve finally found the person they've been looking for all their lives but never thought was real.

also theyre two incredibly sheltered lonely teenagers. of course they are so cringe and intense about it once they get together. honestly realistic
