hi, sorry if you're not the right person to ask (and if you know someone else i should instead, i'd appreciate that and reach out to them), but i've seen you discussing the merch issues lately and had a question: the initial batch of photocards on the website's release was supposed to be leftover merch, right? the first print runs? it wasn't *initially* going to be the second edition prints, i thought. i bought 2 orders after i saw that they would be in different foil packets and wanted both. but (only after i had to email customer support) when i got my second order today, it was the same (the second edition foil packet style). and i'm not sure if this is my misunderstanding, or another merch failure. i would ask customer support again, but after everything that's been going on, i don't exactly trust them not to brush it under the rug. thanks!

to be honest, i stopped monitoring the tour merch after the tour. but as much as i know, they allegedly sold out (close to) all photocards during the tour, since they were super limited at each show. maybe they had extra foil packets, and then decided to change them, i have no idea. although i saw a comparison between some european cards (beginning of the tour vs the end of it vs online) and they were different. so i assume, either the UK shop changed the printing company or just the settings. no idea how it is in the US.

either way, i think they are all just in one place in the warehouse, and they just ship whatever they grab. i doubt IRL can control it if they can't even control how their 'instructions' are followed.

edit: my dumb ass misunderstood a part of the ask in the morning. IRL sent everything correctly in this specific case. there's one online packaging foil, and the cards were shipped in it. i got confused and assumed there was also the tour version in the mix, there wasn't! my mistake!!

ehh, i understand that you're paying for the packaging alongside the cards. and it feels like a misleading advertising on the website. unfortunately, as 2 packaging foils allegedly aren't seen as 2 separate items in the system, it's hard to demand anything. even i would say that they don't have to address it. if one of the packaging was premium, then yeah. but with the organisation IRL has... if the cards themselves are the same, then i'd save my time. you can contact customer service, of course. i'd be curious if they give explanation instead of our speculations. but i wouldn't ask for more than that myself.

i talked to Sarah and she said that VIP tickets people who didn't get lanyards in their VIP bags in Glasgow, Amsterdam and Reykjavik can email UK's customer service with their name, address where to ship the lanyard (and which show it was). IRL Merch didn't get a batch of lanyards in time (because of the shipping from the US to the UK), but they should there's a chance they will ship it to you when they get that batch.

eeeh. i have so many questions about this post. it is childish at best.

wtf are they talking about it costing team members their job? some of them are not doing their job, but that's besides the point. no one is commenting on IRL Merch's employees. customer service (UK shop; i don't know enough about other shops) is monitored by one person, it's not her fault that martyn thinks it's okay to drop hundreds of emails on 1 person. and no one is blaming her. when people say IRL has poor customer service they usually mean that it's awfully organised. and if people have at least a bit of working experience, they understand that it's organised by managers or owners/directors if the company is very small. no one is blaming employees personally. none of us is blaming warehouses and their workers either, only martyn does that.

whoever wrote that post either doesn't know how it works and is extremely parasocial or yes, it's someone from IRL's side, allegedly. the wording is VERY strange. but i'm not sure i'd expect anything else from phannie reddit, it has a reputation.

i was already really disillusioned with dan and phil (the capitalism of it all) but now with everything about IRL and knowing that they've all been ignoring these issues for so long<3 i don't care anymore. why the hell should we put any effort into caring about these people when they only abuse the parasocial connection to make money and brush shit under the rug :)
