• I finally got all of the overgrown flowers out of the lower level of my animal crossing island!

Speaking of willows. There's a species of willow. Salix herbacea. Known as the Dwarf Willow. And this thing. IT ONLY GROWS 1-6 CENTIMETERS TALL. IT'S KNOWN AS "ONE OF THE SMALLEST WOODY PLANTS" BECAUSE ITS A TREE THAT DECIDED TO BE 1 CENTIMETER HEIGHT

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

• cat zoomies as the cat scrabble-thumps around the apartment corners lol

• made a bit more cleaning progress!!!!! even just 1% is a gift for future me who might have less ability or time!

• survived every work meeting despite having a bad day for memory retention and not remembering to take many notes

• the sunlight glowing off of books in bookcases

• elderly lady’s windowsill plants in our neighboring building windows are doing well and looked so green in the sun!

Curious about your thoughts on moss? Personally i love it because it's green! and soft! and often a little damp! and there's a specific tree i used to sit under as a kid just to listen to birds and sink my hands into the moss and it's such a peaceful memory

it's soft! it's green! it's 300 million years old! it's one of the bryophytes which are close to what the very first plants to ever grow on Earth's land were! they have a multitude of uses! their lifecycle is the reverse of what most of what we think of as "plants" have! if you catch them at the right time you can see their sporophyte stage too and the different types of mosses all look unique! the closer you get to it the more it looks like a mini forest! it's lovely! it's like an encouragement to marvel at how strong and resilient things can be even when they're tiny! it's soooooooo nice to touch! it comes in different shapes and arrangements! it's friend shaped! it's fun! i love moss.

those are my thoughts on moss. for very, very, VERY wonderful thoughts on and education about moss, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer from your local library or on the Internet Archive!

sometimes the moral of the story really is just "you cannot go back and what happened to you is going to be with you for the rest of your life. but it's still going to be okay" huh
