I think it's also bc I have mental illnesses that actually affect my life and sometimes relationships. Like severe anxiety and depression but ok? I can't be (and AM) a functional grown adult bc I have anxiety? Ok 🫡

Idk if anyone else has experienced this but my core friend group, who I played dnd with and used to work with, are all older than me. Like at least a year older but I have a friend who is 5 years older and definitely sees me as a little sister. Which wouldn't be an issue if she didn't try and mother me sometimes. Like chastising me about my jobs (my bills are paid so who cares??) or about the amount of cats I have (4 and once again, all taken care of, and I work in vet med) or even this weekend at the wedding. She lent me her car to drive down and didn't tell me she had a shit ton of wedding stuff in the car I borrowed (bc she didn't wanna drive down with it?? I guess???) and then demanded I drive at 2a the day BEFORE the wedding to get there at 8a. Mind you, I'm driving by myself the whole time. And like. Called me selfish for not doing it and I feel like it's really damaged our relationship and it kinda showed that she doesn't really think I'm my own independent woman ig. I'm 30 for Christ sakes so it's like icky.

y'all need to stop being weird about people's ages. The sooner you stop thinking of people over 30 as some sort of alien species, the better your life will be
