This is my Simblr! Expect a lot of deserts and aliens and poor building skills and supernatural Sims and excessive head cannon. And the occasional Apocalypse. Sometimes I try making things, but no promises.

Tales from Apocalypse Desiderata: John Mole Meets his Match
I may not be playing the Apocalypse Desiderata hood ever again (and Owl Creek and I are pretty serious these days), but there are still a few stories about it rattling around in my head. So I’ve decided to share.
This first one is, predictably enough, about John Mole. It’s longer than I thought it would be (behold the great wall of text), and I haven’t really edited it, but @holleyberry pretty much dared me so this is really her fault.
Anyway.
This is a story about new life, and vanity projects, and maybe even true love.
And if you miss my Apocalypse even a little, this one’s for us both:
*ahem*
Summer was almost heavy in Desiderata Valley.

The Triumphant Return?

Hey, everyone! (Anyone who's still following me, I mean.) I'm here to announce that I'm back! No gonewodwo, or Apocalypse Desiderata (Sorry! I miss it too! But this simblr will remain up as an archive forever I hope), but the simmer behind both has relocated to a shiny new Simblr. I'm currently playing a legacy and maybe eventually some manner of Uberhood and possibly even creating CC occasionally.
My new home is @moocha-muses so if you missed me and want to say hi, you can find me there.
P.S. Sorry about just dropping off-planet, you guys. Please take me back?
@holleyberry, @whattheskell, and at everyone else too.

Hiatus Updates
Hi, everyone!
So it turns out that my computer problems are basically un-fixable which means I need a new computer, but since I can't actually afford a new computer just now my hiatus is going to be a lot longer than I hoped.
The good news is that I have back-ups for everything, so the Apocalypse will be resuming just as soon as I have a computer that can run Sims.
The bad news is that you probably won't hear from me at all until then, because following other Simmers and talking about Sims when I have no access to my own Sims will only depress me. (I'm trying to keep my mind on other things.)
Anyway!
I just wanted your guys to know that I haven't abandoned Tumblr or Apocalypse Desiderata, and that I'll be back in a while. (Probably about the same time TS4 comes out, in face, so now you have two things to look forward to.)
I miss you all, but I'll see you when I have things running again, (and after I catch up on everyone else's game, which will probably take me about a year, but oh well.) I'll try and come up with some interesting plots while I'm gone, and hopefully the Apocalypse will be better than ever when I'm finally back. Or it'll be the same as always. Either way, we'll all get back to Desiderata eventually.
XOXO,
Wodwo

Forced Hiatus? Maybe
Okay, this is a heads up to everyone - my computer is once again plagued by problems that make it really difficult to do anything productive, so Apocalypse Desiderata is on hold until I figure things out.
I'm going to go curse at the wall for a while now, but hopefully I'll be back soon!

bathtubpiracy replied to your post:Tate and Violet
it’s american horror story. and it’s perfectly fine if you give no shits about AHS, because it’s kind of crap.
Oh! Okay. I tried watching that because I thought it was going to be an anthology show (and I love anthology shows, but all the apparently recurring characters seemed kind of . . . awful? And it was a lot more gore and sex than I like in my horror - I like up-from-beneath-the-skin body horror and subtle, creeping horror and intentional camp.
Anyway I was talking about a completely different Violet, apparently.

Tate and Violet
my NOTP too | I don’t ship it | it’s okay | I ship it hard | OTP
Well, um, I’m not actually sure who Tate is …
But he’s probably not good enough for my Violet Jocque, BECAUSE SHE IS SPECIAL, DAMMIT.

I already gave this one to somebody else, but Erin and Nervous
my NOTP too | I don’t ship it | it’s okay | I ship it hard | OTP
My headcanon: Erin may not be a mad scientist herself, and she may seem pretty ditzy at times, but she still has the Beaker instinct to poke at things until she finds out how they work. It would not be a healthy relationship.
Also, Beaker women devour their husbands immediately after they find themselves with child.

"-some kind of a music festival, or something. We've agreed to provide fish, of course, but I think they still need people to cook, so you could volunteer."
"We're starting a vegetable garden too," Samantha mentioned, "but with that little army or ours, we probably won't have much in the way of surplus."
"I'm sure they'll manage somehow. You know," Matthew said, "I was in a band in high school. It's been years since I've really played, but I distinctly remember that we rocked."

"Samantha!" Matthew waved Samantha Ottomas over with a big smile. "You'll need a lot of fish to feed that army you call a family. Let me get you stocked up."
Samantha shook her head. "I promised Pete I wouldn't take any fish he didn't inspect. He's the one who's going to cook it all." She glanced behind her. "He was right with me; I don't know where he's gotten to."

Aw, come on!
I'm almost sure you guys just met. This isn't even close to being appropriate.
(But in case any of you are as curious as Jess was - with Faith, three days after the abrupt non-wedding and the subsequent late-night flight. Pulled over on the side of a lonely country road in the middle of a summer storm, sheltering in the truck under a sprawling tree, raining pouring down around them, the only two people left in the world.)
(Anyway, all my Sims are apparently either exhibitionists or voyeurs, but I guess that's what makes them special?)

Julien touched Matt on the shoulder. "Here's that fish," he said. "I know you'll make sure it goes to whoever needs it the most."
"Of course. Thanks again, Julien."
"Anything we can do to help! Anyway, I've got to get home and make a start on lunch. Good luck with the starving masses."
"I think we'll be okay," Matthew said, tapping on the box lid. "Now we should definitely have enough for everyone."

"Well, here you," Matt said, hand him a pair of wrapped bass. "If you need any cooking advice, or tip on smoking, just ask.
"We will," said Herb. "Thank you. This is really very decent of you - are you planning on handing fish out regularly."
"As often as we can," Matt said.
Herb nodded. "When my tomatoes come in, I think we'll have more than we can stand eating. I'd be happy to add some fresh produce to your stores."
"That'd be great. Thanks, Herb."
"I might have some apples for you, too, but Faith is very fond of apples, so I can't make any promises."

"So, what kind of fish can I get you, Herb?"
"Oh, anything you have," Herb said. "Faith and I eat just like birds - although not proportionally, of course!"
"Oh, well, fresh fish increases your appetite," Matt enthused. "Jess says it's about the healthiest thing you can eat. Do you like bass? We're sort of pushing the bass."
"Bass sounds just fine."

"Oh, hold on," Matt interrupted, looking out onto the lawn "I've got a customer. Good morning, Mr. Goodie!"
"You're welcome to call me Herb, Mr. Picaso."

"Julien! Good morning! Are you here to pick up fish? I thought you had your own pond now."
Julien nodded. "I do, but we get more out of it than we could ever eat ourselves, so I thought I could donate our surplus catch to a good cause."
Matthew smiled brightly. "That's great! Jessica and I have been fishing non-stop ourselves, and we've been letting people use the pond, but we were still worried we wouldn't have enough for everyone in town."
"Well, every little bit help, right? Daniel's the real fisherman of the family," Julien added, "so the real credit should go to him. But he's been grounded for letting his lizard run loose in the house, so I'm making the donation in his place."
"Well, tell Daniel thanks for me," Matthew said earnestly.
"Can do. I-"
