Edit to add materials: I'm using suri silk alpaca (apparently I'm slightly allergic to mohair?), and glass beads for the silvery and pearl beads.

ok, after many days of learning to use excel formulas to make the base for a pattern and changing design motifs, ive started working on version 1 of a fish/sea themed jumper. dont have a name for it yet.

Its knit flat from the bottom up and then seamed, but has enough colourwork to keep it interesting. im currently knitting the back panel and it’s going well, it might be a big bigger than i thought but i guess we’ll see

some yarn swatches for a jumper im gonna make. im not using a pattern so currently figuring out stitch counts and pattern repeats and stuff. i might keep log of the process on this blog

this is a work of art

this thing is getting. unwieldy. the pattern outright warns you about how heavy this thing gets if you do it beaded (it’s got something absurd like 5,000 beads on it including those beaded tassels) but i. did not fully appreciate how much 5,000 beads weigh.

i finished knitting the Fisherquine sweater by @chris_knits_crochet_ on Instagram. i loved this pattern and it was on 7mm needles so worked up fairly quick.

i have one successful pattern posted on etsy and ravelry. i cant say id know too much about garment pattern selling, but my dms are open!

Does anyone have any experience with selling knitting patterns? Or fiber related patterns of any kind? I kind of want to try, but I have questions.

Finished my first handknit sweater! (pattern credit)

I originally decided I wanted to make a nipple sweater back in 2020, but I didn't like the drape of the crochet fabric, and I ended up frogging it in order to have enough yarn to make Baby Louis.

It's the cycle of life, really. Creation -> death -> birth -> and now I've got plenty of nipples for Baby Louis to pick from when he's hungry.

I thought some of you might enjoy a peek at my knitting notebook! Tumblr is so useful but I really love having a physical book for storing all my yarn-related thoughts. This is where I keep cute stitch patterns, color ideas, techniques I’ve learned and even some whole patterns for taking on the go. Perfect for when I don’t have internet access and can’t remember which one is m1r and which is m1l. But mostly, it’s just so nice to sink some time into it once in a while. Taking a moment to draw pictures and make each page something pretty just for me has been so relaxing and rewarding.
