Anticipated Games - Shadow of the Tomb Raider Reveal
Tumblr media
Welcome valued member DoochyD and his article looking at the recent Shadow of the Tomb Raider Reveal - GGPosts Its no secret that Tomb Raiders revival has been arguably one of the most successful in gaming. Both entries were considered Game of the Year contenders and rightfully so, both are excellent games that feature fun exploration and brutal combat. But they weren’t without their flaws, both featured rather thin plots and one-dimensional characters outside of Lara. This however, could all change with the release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on September 14th. A release date trailer was just released depicting a brutally efficient Lara dispatching various soldiers in the jungle so that she could make her way to stop a ritual sacrifice. It’s a particularly thrilling sequence and showcases the evolution of Lara Croft. https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=9s&v=j9_8250Kndk In the first Tomb Raider, Lara was a naive, junior archaeologist who had to quickly become a survivor when her ship was marooned on the fictional island of Yamatai. As it completely rebooted the character, players were introduced to a vulnerable Lara who was forced to do whatever it took to survive. It was grounded, gritty, brutal, and was surprising in the best ways. By the end of the experience, Lara was no longer a naive young adult, she was the on the precipice of becoming the iconic character that gamers grew to know and love. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara was more comfortable as a survivor and was far more confident in her actions. No longer was she second-guessing her abilities, she was a fighter and seemed less hesitant when an enemy had to be eliminated. Rise of the Tomb Raider was a brilliant follow-up that improved on the foundation its predecessor had laid down. When players arrived at bonfires, Lara would have various monologues that showcased her newfound determination and confidence. The experience had hardened her and Shadow of the Tomb Raider looks to be the next step forward in the series. Lara is now confident, cunning, and understands the requirements to survive any situation. If this is anything like the first two games, it should make for a brilliant experience and could very well vye for Game of the Year. Hopefully, this game adds new and interesting characters for Lara to interact with. The Tomb Raider sereies has had an amazing turnaround for a series that was once left for dead and seemed to be directionless. Now there is the potential for three excellent games and I can’t wait to see just where Lara goes next. Get your pick-axes ready GG Other articles showed the leak of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider reveal as well as it's teaser trailer. A New Nintendo President Has Been Appointed
Tumblr media
The Nintendo President has recently announced that he will be stepping down in his current post. Tatsumi Kimishima is the current Nintendo President. He took over the role of (legend) Satoru Iwata during July 2015. Iwata sadly passed away on July 11 2015 due to cancer. As the most recent Nintendo President, Kimishima was faced with the task of ''restoring'' Nintendo to its former glory. The Nintendo Wii U was seen as a commercial failure, only being able to sell around 13.5 million units in it's life time. Thankfully, leadership by Kimishima showed that Nintendo went on the right track. Mobile games started to come to fruition which created profit and innovation for the company despite the controversy over mobile games. Of course, the recent success of the Nintendo Switch clearly shows Nintendo recovering from the previous generation. It has already surpassed the lifetime sales of the Nintendo Wii U despite being available on the market for a much shorter period of time. The last gift from Iwata was easily, one of the best video games in history and arguably the best game of this generation so far. Shuntaro Furukawa will be the new Nintendo President replacing the role of Tatsumi Kimishima. Komishima will be stepping down on June 29 2018. He was the Nintendo President for around 3 years in total. Previous information and this current news suggests that Kimishima was a temporary president. Furukawa has given a statement for his new post. Quoting, ''I expect to say what needs to be said to run this company.'' He is much younger than other presidents so this may potentially be a good thing in regards to being grounded with modern gaming perspectives. He talked about bringing out Nintendo's full potential and wants to balance the traditions of flexibility and originality of the company's values. His background was growing up with the Nintendo Famicom and developing Hopefully, the new Nintendo president will facilitate more success for Nintendo and ultimately, the gaming industry as a whole. Review - God of War PS4
Tumblr media
All credit for this God of War PS4 review goes to our valued contributor, DoochyD - GGPosts The Ghost of Sparta No More One of the most complete games of this generation, God of War PS4 is easily the best game of the year thus far. It's narrative, while simple in its premise, is nuanced and anchored by the father-son relationship of longtime series protagonist Kratos and his young son Atreus. No longer is Kratos a one-dimensional character who's primary motivation was revenge. He is a layered, fully-realized character who is world weary and looking to escape his past. It is a welcome change and is one of the many new additions that makes the God of War the best in the series.
Tumblr media
RPG elements are nothing new in the God of War series.  Experience gained throughout God of War PS4 is utilized to upgrade Kratos and Atreus abilities to make them more effective in combat.  This is very similar to how players utilized the Red Orbs from the original series.  The real difference is that each skill set caters to different playstyles.  If a player wants to focus on keeping their distance, there are skills that will allow that.  It is one of the biggest indicators as to how much the combat has changed in God of War.  Based off the encounter, players can alter their approach. It also helps if the player is wearing the right equipment, which is where the new crafting system comes into play. Throughout the game, players will find currency and resources that can be used to purchase and craft equipment.  These equipment can then be upgraded by using different resources. Certain pieces of equipment will have rune slots that can either upgrade or add buffs to help Kratos through different combat situations. Adapting to these changes will take some time but I will say however, that the revamped combat system is incredibly engaging. Gone is the button mashing combat of the original in where the most basic combos could get you through the majority of the game. In it's place is a mix of Dark Souls and Darksiders, as players will have to utilize strategy and special abilities in order to defeat the variety of enemies and bosses that make up the realm of Midgard.  Enemies will swarm Kratos and players will have to be fully aware of their surroundings or face being cornered.  This is a God of War that demands your attention, players will not find success by simply rolling and spamming the same combo over and over.  Players will have to utilize different weapon combinations as enemies will have different elemental affinities.  Encounters will challenge you, there are moments especially late in the game where the player will not only fight the enemy but environmental hazards as well. Atreus does accompany Kratos and his ability to stun or electrify enemies will help you in combat. It is recommended that players use his abilities often as he will give you breathing room in the most difficult confrontations. Combat isn't the only big change in the God of War formula. While the game is still fairly linear, players will have a semi-open world to discover in the form of Midgard. It opens up after the first few hours of the game and while exploration it isn't a requirement, the different side quests or "favors" will help grant items that will help the player in their journey. I have only completed a few favors and I can say that these will make later sections easier to navigate as God of War does scale in difficulty. Be warned that these favors will feature difficult combat encounters and some pretty tricky puzzles. I love the fact that God of War has moved on from the simplistic block-pushing from the original series. There are some truly fun puzzles to complete and I enjoyed combining different techniques to get through these sections. Fully exploring Midgard will require the player to acquire certain techniques only attainable by working through the campaign. It's organic exploration largely differs from the original series as you are always to able to return for a chest or an item you may have missed.
Tumblr media
While the various gameplay changes to the God of War formula is appreciated. The mature and personal narrative is what stands out most in this reboot of the franchise. Kratos has become an empathetic and endearing character, which seems unfathomable because of his rage-filled history. His relationship with son Atreus is a rocky one as they are forced to come together in the midst of a family tragedy. His wife's dying wish is to have her ashes spread from the tallest peak in Midgard. Kratos must take Atreus on this journey and it is clear from their early interactions that Kratos does not believe that Atreus is ready. As the story progresses players will see considerable growth from both characters as they are trying to see through one another's flaws. It is a grounded and realistic take on the relationship between father and son and gives God of War the narrative punch that makes the journey memorable.
Tumblr media
Visually, this game is a marvel. When I say that this is currently the best-looking videogame of the generation, that is not an exaggeration. The detail found in the character models as well as the environments can be awe-inspiring. Particle effects are incredible, there were multiple moments where I had to pause a scene because I wasn't sure that what I was seeing was possible in a videogame. The first hour of the game features an incredible fight in which trees get broken, boulders get smashed, and the ground gets torn apart. It put in perspective the power of both characters and it looked like something out of a Superhero film. Colors pop off the screen and the animations of every single living organism will make you appreciate the time Santa Monica Studios took to develop the game. The part that will stun you the most is the fact that God of War is shot as one long continuous take. It is something that isn't immediately noticeable, but it's brilliantly done and its inclusion is worth mentioning. After the 20 or so hours it took to complete the campaign, there is still much to explore. God of War is an achievement. Few games are able to feature a powerful narrative and immersive gameplay but God of War does just that. It is a game that needs to be experienced by everyone and is a true contender for game of the year and possibly of the generation. There are no perfect games, but God of War is damn close. The return of Kratos has arrived and it is glorious. God of War PS4 Review Final Score:

The Shenmue Remaster Was Planned Before Shenmue 3
Tumblr media
The Shenmue remaster for the first two games was recently announced. They have also gotten Sega to be more open about the process in revealing them. Shenmue 3 was revealed during Sony's Press Conference in 2015. It was a kickstarter project which allowed the original director to create the game through a financially viable method. Thankfully, the kickstarter project was met with a huge amount of support just like the reveal was. Each Shenmue remaster of these DreamCast classics were actually considered before the announcement of Shenmue 3. However, the vice president of Sega Europe, John Clark also revealed something interesting. Sega would have likely still announced each Shenmue remaster regardless if Shenmue 3 existed. This was due to the increase of demand for Japanese games from the company. Sega has a reputation for releasing games again to please it's fans - most of the time. On some occassions, big franchises like Sonic get a re-release even though the content should technically be given as DLC. Another good example is how Sega is reviving the niche gem Valkyria Chronicles on other systems outside of it's original release on the PS3 in 2008. Ten years later, they are bringing it to a certain portable machine. Sega have also recently announced a full blast to the past. In the spirit of the NES Classic and SNES Classic, Sega recently announced the Sega MegaDrive Mini too. Another sleeker hit, Bayonetta, was ported to the PC a good 7 years after it's original 2008 release. One of Sega's biggest games got it's latest instalment released very recently too. Yakuza 6 released on April 17 2018 for the West - read more about it in our preview here.  The next big title in Sega's line-up includes Valkyria Chronicles 4 which will release during Q4 2018. As Sega are on a roll-out on re-releasing their games like each Shenmue remaster, what do you think they will put out again next? Is Jet Set Radio a good bet? Each Shenmue remaster will release in 2018 - no specific release date is currently available. GG Read the full article

Indie Spotlight - Moonlighter
Tumblr media
Welcome to this new Indie Spotlight which takes a look at Moonlighter. All credit goes to our awesome contributor, DoochyD - GGPosts Dream Big.
Tumblr media
Imagine for a moment that you’re a merchant in a videogame.  Doesn’t sound very exciting, but one can’t help but wonder how they go about acquiring some of the rare and exotic wares that line their shelves.  Realistically, it revolves around a barter system in which merchants will trade with other merchants and vendors to acquire goods for their shop.  Sounds boring, if not economically sustainable, but what if shopkeepers work to acquire their gear by other means?  In the upcoming Moonlighter, players will see the world through the eyes of Will, an everyday shopkeeper who happens to moonlight as an explorer.  The loot acquired while exploring the various dungeons will be then be utilized as goods to be sold in Will’s shop. For whatever reason, this premise has made Moonlighter one of my most anticipated games of the year.  There are tons of dungeon crawlers out on the market with a pixelated art style and gameplay reminiscent of the 2D Legend of Zelda games, but none that allow you to loot and then sell said loot for a profit.  It will feature light rogue-like elements and a unique inventory management system that will not allow the player to loot how they please as eventually they will become encumbered.  You can also utilize the resources that you gather to upgrade weapons and gear at the various shops that populate the village of Rynoka.  Shopkeeper by day and wannabe Hero by night could make for a very interesting dynamic.   It’s a fresh look at an otherwise unappreciated occupation.  Moonlighter is for the day dreamer in all of us who aspire for something more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp7tNAH9Ox0 It’ll be interesting to see how Moonlighter plays out when it releases for all platforms on May 29th. As usual, thanks to GGPosts for allowing my post to be on their website. GG Read the full article

Castlevania Grimoire of Souls Is The Latest Castlevania Title
Tumblr media
A new Castlevania title was announced. It is titled Castlevania Grimoire of Souls. The catch is, it is a mobile exclusive game. Castlevania Grimoire of Souls is currently a Japan only title at the moment. Previously, GGPosts reported rumours surrounding the potential release of a new Castlevania. A member of staff at Konami excitingly talked about the fact that the IP is still treasured by Konami and they are looking to do something with it. Alas, we have to remember this is Konami after all... Nevertheless, this still may be end up a good game so it is worth following up on the rumours. Castlevania Grimoire of Souls actually plays homage to the series' history by bringing in cameos from each generation of the series. There will be a Boss Rush Mode and even a 4 vs 4 multiplayer mode. This multi-player emphasis is a first for the series. Castlevania Grimoire of Souls will be set in the future where it is assumed Dracula is gone. There are two new characters, a male named Genya Arikado and his assistant Lucy. As expected, they make up the playable cast. As Dracula is still feared by society and to prevent an inevitable return, they work in the anti-dracula research division of the Japanese government. This department is secretive but shows the sense that fear still exists regarding what may be construed as a myth. Character bios give hints that the assistant, Lucy, is a magician. Further, Genya is part-vampire as a minimum. We guess this will be used as a plot device in Castlevania Grimoire of Souls. Popular characters from the Castlevania universe include Simon Belmont, Charlotte and Alucard. Castlevania Grimoire of Souls has not yet been confirmed to be available for other regions outside of Japan. A clsoed beta can be registered though but again, this is exclusive to Japanese players. We can't imagine anything other than negative feedback for Castlevania Grimoire of Souls. The previous rumours reported mention hints of a Nintendo Switch Castlevania title. Maybe it's still in the works? GG Read the full article

E3 2018 Predictions
Tumblr media
Welcome to GGPost's E3 2018 predictions! 2018 has already been a great year for gaming and we haven't even finished the half-way point yet. E3 2018 is sure to bring new exciting announcements too, let's hope for the best!
E3 2018 Predictions | Battlefield 2018 Revealed
Battlefield is clearly one of EA's biggest franchises and the last game released for the IP was Battlefield 1 back in late 2016. Battlefield 2018 is surely going to be announced and set for release later this year. The question is, will it be Bad Company 3 or Battlefield V? Well, earlier rumours suggested the former was likely but this was later debunked by other sources. The most likely game is Battlefield V which will go back to the roots of the series and take place in WW2. Check out all the Battlefield 2018 rumours here.
E3 2018 Predictions | Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date
Ah Kingdom Hearts 3 - the game many fans have been waiting thirteen years for. A 2018 release date window was announced for the game during the Toy Story world trailer back during July 2017. A Kingdom Hearts 3 release date just has to be announced at E3 2018. It is too big of a moment to miss it. Considering Square Enix are even having worldwide Kingdom Hearts orchestras to market it too, it would just be off-putting if we don't have a release date soon. A more bold-prediction is that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be coming to another  system.
E3 2018 Predictions | Halo 6 Revealed
Halo 5 was released in 2015 and since then, we have not had any official announcement of a new Halo. EVen during E3 2017, where Microsoft showed off the Xbox One X, Microsfot's biggest franchise was not shown. E3 2018 has to be the time for a new Halo. It's been quite a long time. Further, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has stated on many occassions that they are looking into bigger exclusive games for their system. The Xbox One X got backlash for releasing without any killer titles so it's about time they used Halo as a leader of it's new gaming line up.
E3 2018 Predictions | Fable Reboot
Fable was one of Microsoft's unique RPG franchises. In fact, the game was quite unique in general for the industry, I cannot think of another game which is that similar to it. Comparisons to The Elder Scrolls and Zelda do not make any sense. The last main release for this IP was Fable 3 in 2010. Unfortunately, this was the title which was recieved the worst crtiically and commercially. The IP has been dormant since but Lionhead Studios exist and must be working on something. A reboot of Fable would be great - Microsoft, like any Sony and Nintendo, deserve a more diverse line up for their system.
E3 2018 Predictions | More Information on Anthem
Anthem will be EA's next massive IP. Made by Bioware - the developers of the beloved Mass Effect series - EA hopes to develop Anthem to be the next big project in gaming. It will be a RPG with online elements as well as a focus on story. Seemingly, gaming concepts which are usually somewhat disconnected at times. The boss of Bioware even mentioned that Anthem will be unlike anything we have played before. Let's hope this statement holds up because fresh IPs and ideas are always welcome in this industry. Anthem was first relealed during E3 2017 on the Xbox One X at Microsfot's conference. Microsoft will probably showcase more footage of Anthem again at E3 2018.
E3 2018 Predictions | More Information on The Last of Us Part 2
The Last of us Part 2 has showed some good trailers - the obvious problem is that they are cutscenes. We need concrete gameplay - will the main playable character be Joel again or will Ellie take centre stage? Many fans theorise that Joel is actually dead, is this true? What happened after the ending of the first game? We have so many questions and yet nothing but cinematic trailers which do not do much justice. Naughty Dog have said the game is far away from release. With the success of recent PS4 exclusives, I am pretty sure it won't be a 2018 game or even 2019. Perhaps like The Last of Us, it will release in the PS4's final year before Sony's next console releases? Fair bet.
E2 2018 Predictions | Splinter Cell 2018 Revealed
How long has it been since we have seen Splinter Cell? 5 years. What!? Yes, five years. Despite being one of Ubisoft's biggest franchises, Splinter Cell has not gotten much love since the last release. E3 2018 will mark a change however - previous rumours state that not only will Splinter Cell be announced this year, it will also be released.  With the other stealth giant now in obscurity after a certain well known game developer has left the company, Splinter Cell has a lot of hope for us who need their stealth action fix. Check out a recent article on anticipating the return of Sam Fisher by one of our talented contributors.
E3 2018 Predictions | DOOM Sequel Revealed
The re-imagination of DOOM released in 2016. Oh boy, what a game it was. Somehow, it captured the feeling of the father of FPS and still felt modern. It was one of the few games where I actually felt a ''void'' after finishing. The game ended on a cliff-hanger even of sorts - like the originals of course. Why wouldn't DOOM get a sequel? It's been a huge sucess and sucessfully revived a series that was dormant for more than a decade. Bethesda even hinted at it by stating ''hell on earth'' when they talked about E3 2018 and their conference...
E3 2018 Predictions | Bethesda's New IP Revealed
Rumours previously circulated regarding a ''Starfield'' which is allegedly a new space RPG. The most recent rumours state it will release this fall even and that it will be announced during E3 2018. Usually, Bethesda's conferences are packed with two new fresh announcements. Last year, we got both The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2. E3 2018; it just has to be a DOOM sequel and Starfield right? Whatever the case, they will probably be leaked before the official announcements...
E3 2018 Predictions | Pokemon 2018 Revealed
Pokemon was confirmed to be making it's way to the Nintendo Switch during E3 2017. The director clearly stated that it will not be a 2017 game. We do not even have a name for the title not any footage. Pokemon 2018 rumours have been floating already which even state things like it will follow the niche gem, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, and the game play structure. Meaning, after more than 20 years, Pokemon will finally be revamping the gameplay completely.  Other rumours state that it will be named Pokemon Stars and feature online features the franchise should have already had by now. Nintendo's online service will launch during late 2018 so, will Pokemon release around then? Probably not - the next game on this list will be incentive for Nintendo's new online system.
E3 2018 Predictions | More Information On Smash Brothers Switch
The most recent Nintendo Direct ended with a trailer for Smash Brothers Switch. What confused many was whether or not it was a remaster. Surely, if it was a remaster, Nintendo would have simply stated so? The text on screen described the title as ''tentative'' which means the name is still in progress. This further implies it may be a new game over all. Again, it would be odd considering the timeframe between release. Never say never as the first two titles in the series released only 2 years apart from each other. 4 years is very reasonable. Nintendo also seem to be announcing games in a good time-frame before they release. The time difference between announcement and release has been kept short so I do think this is an all new Smash Brothers game. Absolutely perfect leverage for Nintendo to market their new online service too.
E3 2018 Predictions | More Information On Metroid Prime 4
After all, we literally just got a logo. And that was enough for many to go crazy with excitement. Metroid is easily one of the best franchises in gaming and it's about time it rose back to power. It has been a long eleven years since it got a console release game that was, in general, well liked. Other M left a mixed taste for many. The sucess of the remake of Metroid 2 - Metroid Samus Returns released on the 3DS around 6 months ago and it confirmed one thing. Nintendo do value Metroid, despite it actually not being a well-selling franchise. Let's keep this alive and ensure this series really never dies out. Nintendo did not do anything for Metroid's 30th anniversary, so we have to be realistic. Metroid Prime 4 has had rumours this year stated it would have multi-player and is developed by Namco Bandai - the same guys who helped develop Smash Brothers 4. Whatever the case is, this is the title I'm looking forward to the most.
E3 2018 Predictions | A New Call of Duty, FIFA, NBA etc.

Valkyria Chronicles Switch Coming To The eShop
Tumblr media
Valkyria Chronicles Switch confirmed! Seriously one of the best announcements to have been made this year yet. Valkyria Chronicles is a niche gem of a tactical RPG which deserves more praise. The latest title in the series, Valkyria Chronicles 4, was confirmed to be coming to the Switch. Having the original also on the Switch is a great incentive to help newcomers into the series. The release date for Valkyria Chonicles 4 was revealed recently too. Presumably, Valkyria Chronicles Switch will also include all of the DLC. It is reported to cost 1990 yen which is around 18 USD/15 EUR/13 GBP. What's cool is that Nintendo Switch copies of Valkryia Chronicles 4 will come with a discount code to get Valkyria Chronicles Switch for only 500 yen! Valkryia Chronicles was made into an anime adaptation and manga It had a sequel which released on the PSP and another sequel which was never localized. Thankfully Valkryia Chronicles 4 is a return to the first game's roots and has had it's release date recently confirmed. No physical release for Valkyria Chronicles Switch is confirmed at the moment. SEGA reported it to be releasing on the eShop only at this point in time. A western release of the port was not confirmed either but it would be odd if Valkyria Chronicles Switch does not come to the west. If you haven't played Valkyria Chronicles, try it out. The game originally released on the PS3 during 2008. It got a remastered PS4 release in 2016 as well as a PC version in 2014 . The remastered version includes all of the game's DLC too. Valkyria Chronicles Switch was confirmed for a late 2018 release date but no specific date is available as of now. This recent news for Valkryia Chronicles Switch was announced at the Sega Festival 2018. Other announcements include the revival of two classics and a platform which will contain a bunch of classics. Sega Mega Drive Mini Latest Details
Tumblr media
Another exciting announcement was made by Sega recently. A Sega Mega Drive Mini was just announced from Sega too. Not a massive amount of details were given for the Sega Mega Drive Mini. However, the fact that it exists is good enough news for many. It is presumed that the Sega Mega Drive Mini will follow in the foot steps of Nintendo's NES Mini and SNES Mini. Hopefully, any differences include ensuring there is enough supply so that everyone who wants one can get it! No pricing information is currently available. The name itself is not final so is subject to change. The Sega Mega Drive Mini was announced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Sega Mega Drive. A release date window was given as 2018 with nothing concrete as of yet. Sega Genesis games will be playable on the system. The system was announced at the Sega Festival. Sega also announced a title long awaited by many fans too.  Any more information on this will be updated in due course. GG Read the full article

Shenmue HD Remasters Finally Confirmed!
Tumblr media
Shenmue HD remasters have been confirmed! This news will be celebrated by many! Due to the announcement of Shenmue 3 back during E3 2015 at Sony's press conference, Shenmue HD remasters were longly wanted for. Mainly, to allow old time fans to have another play-through of these classics and to also welcome in new gamers into the series. During the Sega Festival 2018, Sega officially announced the Shenmue HD remasters. They will include both the first title and it's sequel from the DreamCast. The platforms Shenmue HD will release on are the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A release window for Shenmue HD was given as 2018. A new trailer and release date will be announced at E3 2018 is my prediction. A steam page for the Shenmue HD remasters is also available. Important notes to take from it are details that allow Japanese voice tracks as an option. Also, there will be a new user interface but players will have a choice between classic and a newer control scheme. Screen resolutions which can be scaled are also available. The Steam page shows both games together. It does not seem like each game will be available seperately. The listing does not detail any HD exclusive features but it is early days. Shenmue 1 and 2 were known as games with a great cast of characters and a story which amounts to one of the best in gaming. The series created the concept of quick time events, had RPG elements, jiu-jitsu combat and an open world with weather changes and a day/night cycle. The sequel ended in a cliff hanger back in 2001 so when Shenmue 3 was announced 14 years later, many fans' dreams came true. Shenmue originally released during 1999 and the sequel released on 2001. The sequel was later ported to the Xbox during 2002. 2018 is shaping up to be another great year for gaming truly. Anymore Shenmue HD news will be reported as I know it's a game loved by many. General Consensus From Each God of War Review
The setting is well used Recreation of Kratos and his new characterisation is well told Strong mythology references and world Combat felt responsive, rhymatic and satisfying There are a lot of optional things to do and explore Krato's hammer has been compared to Thor's hammer from Marvel numerous times! The game's menus can be a bit fiddly and it can be confusing on what option does what
God of War Review Score Round Up
IGN 100/100 - Kratos and his son were described as having a bond that quickly causes the player to care a lot about the game's world. They appreciated how the cinematics were done especially with respect to how the camera angles help you see the emotions from characters. They found the combat and weapons satisfying to use. GameSpot 90/100 - Again, they appreciated the change of Kratos becoming an emotionally complex character. They said it was easy to be sucked into the context and story due to the cinematics, facial expression and character motivations. Giant Bomb 100/100 - Giant Bomb went as far to say that this latest title in the series is the best one yet in their God of War review. They were impressed with how much new ground for Kratos as a character was uncovered despite being a character we have known for a long time. The story was praised as well. Easy Allies /100 - All main characters were praised due to how they were represented. They liked the references regarding mythology and lore. They were glad that exploration was rewarding and how the world map was implemented. Easy Allies were pleased that the brutal combat was mechanically fun to use and looked good. The attention of detail given to character faces, environments and themes were also praised. They even concluded by stating that the game is ''not only the next step in the franchise but the entire video game industry''. Polygon 100/100 - Like IGN, they praised the use of the camera in their God of War review. They said that each component of the game is done very well and when combined gives a complete experience. They used the word ''hollistic'' in all it delivers all of it's components. GameInformer 97.5/100 - Gameinformer mentioned how fun it was to strategize different combat techniques in their God of War review. They praised how the game balances a strong narrative and cinematic story telling and action which boils down to having great pacing. They see the title as an evolution of the series as a whole. GamesRadar 100/100 - They loved the combat in their God of War review. The game's optional paths to look into and semi-open world realised environments were fun to explore. Again, like everyone, they found the story and characters incredible. God of War releases on April 20 2018 exclusively for the PS4. We hope this overview of each God of War review helps you decide if it's the game for you. At the time of writing, the meta score for each God of War review is a staggering 95. This makes it the best critically game for the PS4 in 2018 so far. Further, it is actually the highest scoring PS4 game if you do not include remasters. The remasters that score higher are the PS4 versions of The Last of Us and GTA V. Well done Sony and first party studio Santa Monica! GG Read the full article

Latest PS5 News Reveal More Hints About A Release Date
Tumblr media
Even more PS5 news have surfaced. In the latest episode of Next Gen Consoles: Attack Of The Rumours, we have information that states that the PS5 release date is far off. Before this, recent PS5 news shared rumours suggesting that the release date for the PS5 was just around the corner. Supposedly, many game developers have spoken to the team at Kotaku. These consist of a ''variety'' of different types of game development studios. Two individuals reported on more PS5 news surrounding the release date. They described the situation as ''the next PlayStation is unlikely to release in 2019, let alone 2018...'' They also pointed out that a 2018 release may have been on the cards at one point but plans constantly change. With mid-gen console upgrades, I say it's safe to say this would influence a later release date. This PS5 news goes as far to state that first party developers in Sony's own studios have not even been briefed that a PS5 will happen. Previously, we also reported on the possibilities regarding the PS5 specs. The source at Kotaku mentioned these rumours to a member of staff at Sony who replied by laughing. The staff member stated if that were the case, PS5 consoles would already be in production and development teams would be panicking for E3 and beyond. Also, PS5 development kits were mentioned beforehand by insider Marcus Sellar. Earlier this year, it was rumoured that third party companies already had access to start developing games for the PS5. However, the most recent PS5 news suggests that this is too vague. Having a development kit could simply mean having a high power PC of a certain spec which is using software like Unreal and Unity 3D. To round up this latest PS5 news, individuals spoke about a PS5 2020 release date at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco around one month ago. This was from private meetings between Sony members of staff and third party company representatives. I say - and you know it too - a 2018 PS5 release date is way too early. After all, the PS4 is extremely successful so there is no point in Sony jumping to the next ship now. Being on top of all of this PS5 news is engaging so stay tuned for what's next. Shovel Knight Sales Are Inspiring for Indie Developers
Tumblr media
Shovel Knight sales have reached a new milestone. Developer Yacht Games recently said that Shovel Knight sales have succeeded 2 million. The game was originally released on June 26 2014 for the PC, Nintendo 3DS and even Wii U. It is Yacht Games first title which successfully raised a kickstarter campaign. This makes Shovel Knight sales even more impressive as it is always great to see a new indie developer do well in business. Shovel Knight was ported to the PS4, PS3, PS Vita and Xbox One on April 2015 due to its success. It sold more than 1 million copies just 19 months after it's original release. Shovel Knight sales have been reported to be more than 2 million since the end of February 2018. The most common platform the game was purchased on was the PC and Nintendo 3DS. A Nintendo Switch version of Shovel Knight released the latest on March 2017. Despite being launched nearly two years since the release on the more popular platforms, the Switch version is the third best selling. The retro style game play and graphics make it a great fit for the Switch's portability. Developer Yacht Games even detailed that the majority of Shovel Knight sales were from Nintendo Systems, with more than a million coming from them in September 2017. Shovel Knight a playable third party character for the next Smash Bros anyone? Shovel Knight is a blast-to-the-past style 8-bit side scrolling platform game. The main character as named by the game's title, has abilities reminiscent of other classics. The abilities include the downward thrust from Zelda II The Adventure of Link, Metroid's level design, Megaman's difficulty and the pogo jump from DuckTales. Shovel Knight has three campaigns currently. The developer has released new campaigns as DLC and is working on another one. With success due to these Shovel Knight sales, developer Yacht Games must be really energised as they work on the third campaign for Shovel Knight. It is titled King of Cards and is planned to release in Spring 2018, that is, very soon. GG Read the full article
