So, what does make the best first aid training provider?
There is no straightforward answer to this question. A lot of it depends upon your company. It also depends upon your requirements and how confident you are with the decision.
Bear in mind, however, that you aren’t having surgeons trained. A trained first aider is only the front line in an accident at work, and they cannot perform complicated procedures. They may have to do CPR, but that is only to keep oxygen and blood flowing through a person until the paramedics get there. Don’t overestimate the amount of medical knowledge a first aider requires.

If the victim is unconscious (they are unresponsive and not responding), look for signs of normal breathing, NOT gasps! If they are not breathing, call 999 or 112 and/or shout for help, you must start compressing their chest at a depth of 5cm.

We recently had John from Avanti Training Solutions carry out an EFAW emergency first-aid at work course for us and our team at our head office. We found the course to be really engaging and informative and John had recently made adaptations due to the COVID-19 situation which were integrated smoothly and did not interfere with the quality of the training provided. Everyone of our team involved in the course found the course very informative and the feedback was great. Would highly recommend.
