LITTLE UPDATE. look, i’ve tried really hard but i just can’t grasp writing nico. i want to?? so much?? but my muse for her has gotten steadily lower and all of my replies and attempts to write her feel off and like i’m not doing justice to the character. i’m not as excited as i should be to come onto this dashboard because i just don’t know what to do with most of my interactions.  i’m not,, abandoning the blog completely but a break is definitely in order while i figure out what i wanna do here. maybe i’ll make her a discord-only muse. if the muse miraculously returns, i’ll absolutely give writing her another shot. if not, i wanna thank you all so much for your interest! seriously, that’s been amazing. i’ve loved what time i’ve spent here and hopefully i’ll be back! if not, i totally understand if y’all wanna unfollow.  i can always be found at my main blog, @atlaslain , or y’all are welcome to ask for my discord.

          kyrie is one of those people: sugar-sweet in a way so sincere that nico’s a little blinded by it. she doesn’t know what to do with nice people, people who welcome her into their homes with open arms and soft kisses to the cheek, gentle inquiries about her wellbeing and offers of food. she doesn’t know how to be around kyrie, other than quietly grateful for her presence.           the cheek kisses — they take a little getting used to. casual affection’s not easy to come by in her line of work, her usual clientele a mix of weapons nuts and grizzled hunters. sad to say, she struggles to recall the last time she was so much as hugged. and then there’s kyrie.           “ah — hey,” nico greets, smile a little awkward but genuine. she goes still as kyrie easily moves into her space, greets her with all that friendly warmth. nico hasn’t worked up to returning the gesture yet, but she pats kyrie’s shoulder. “been too long since i saw you! how’re you doin’?”

( well, that’s not how it was supposed to go; he’s not supposed to make her heart all fluttery. asshole. ) she winds her fingers into his hair and enjoys the thrill anyway.

⭐️ while his familiars are the reason he escaped the clan’s immediate influence at all, it’s nico who’s shown him other ways. her & nero’s bond seems so effortlessly close that it honestly makes v green with jealousy - envy, too. he has no idea how to do that.          but then he & nico do their thing, and it… kinda. kinda          looks the same, really, just with their own twist.& he does actually cry abt it bc wow he’s never had a friendship with a human being before, with someone not tied to him in blood & trauma, & he’d forgotten, honestly, that he was even missing it. was missing so much, has never been around someone & felt he could bite & snark & expect back smth that is harmless to them both. & uh. she will Never Find Out he cries about it. & abt everything else bc once he experiences that he DOES recall what he’s missing—so, his familiars got him out of hell. & nico shows him a new way into … this. strange. not-hell. shows v that he can, in fact … do . this. gestures vaguely this.

⭐️ she becomes his confidante, aware or willing or no laughs. once they get to,,, once they’ve tripped into caring abt each other & actually showing it (however covertly), v discovers to his great what the fuck that talking to her … helps.( black magic woman start playing in the distance– )though he remains for a time careful abt what he bares to her, he trips into this intimacy like a starved child. if she’s receptive, he’ll let himself take the risks, safety net or no. griffon vc: ehh can always toast her if she ends up messing with u lol.
