“It has to be perfect Sebastian okay. I did not go through the channels I did just to pull this off. She is going to be so surprised, it’s ridiculous.” Alex smiled as he looked at all the roses placed perfectly along the floor, only leaving enough space to walk through. He looked around at the waves of different colored flowers and nodded. “She is either going to love it or hate it sir.” Sebastian told him, Alex laughing at the comment. “Just enough of a path to make it up to the bedroom where she will see the travel gear.” He reached out and grabbed one of the white roses with red tips at the petals, fixing it in the vase. Alex fixed a few of the out of place flowers before retreating back up to their room, making sure the second part of the surprise was ready. He opened up the brand new suit cases he had bought for the occasion, setting them up at the end of the bed, each of them with a small box on them. One a new set of charms for her bracelet and the second one, the engagement ring he had wanted to get her from the beginning. He couldn’t help but open the box and admire the rose shaped ring he had picked out. Alex pulled it out to inspect the engraving on the inside that read “Until the last pedal falls...” He closed his eyes and carefully set it back into the box, setting it back on top of the suit case. He took a look at his watch and smiled. Maddie was going to be home soon and she was either going to love everything about it or hate that he went to the extremes that he had. Alex thought it was appropriate, especially since he had been away at work more often than he would have liked. But now he had a full three weeks drama free on a cruise to the Caribbean. Little did she know, Alex had Margot pick out some small scantly clad outfits. He wanted nothing more than to see her in bikini’s and in shorts that barely covered her. The thought alone was enough to drive him mad and he was excited. Time felt like it was going a mile an hour. He hopped up on the bed and waited for what seemed like forever. Not wanting to wait any more he pulled out his phone and hit her number on his speed dial. “Hey babe. Just calling to see exactly where you were. I miss you even though you have only been gone a few hours. Well I can’t wait til you get here. I love you. Bye.” Alex hung up. Her voicemail. Now he was forced to wait and the anticipation killed him. As he began to lay back in his bed, Sebastian came around the corner into the room. “You look like a lost dog.” Alex groaned as he sat up. “Look, you and I both know this is my first time with this since I was like how old?” He spat out as he looked around at everything. “She deserves the world and got me. The least I can do is give the world to her okay.” Alex broke a small chuckle, looking up at the man standing across the room. Before he could say another word, he heard the door open and shut. His heart jumped a bit as he held out a hand, shushing Sebastian. “I want to hear her reaction.” Alex whispered as he silently moved closer to the bedroom door, listening to the noise from the bottom floor.

Task 012
Alex stood in the middle of the road as the pouring rain now hit his face. His suit was now drenched and the redness of anger and sadness were completely hidden. “Alex come back! It wasn’t like that!” He could hear her voice scream as she ran after him. His breath hitched, his heart now aching, almost demanding for the newly ripped hole to be filled. Alex stopped and closed his eyes. He didn’t want to be there anymore. He wanted nothing more than to go home and forget.
A few moments passed. He hadn’t moved. Time almost felt like it was standing still. He shook his head to come back into reality, a hand now reaching out for his arm. Alex turned and grabbed it quickly, shoving her backwards. “Don’t touch me. You don’t get that right anymore.” He growled as she now hit the pavement. “Alex. Please.” She pleaded and Alex’s eyes grew to the deep shade of blue they always did when he was angry. “I trusted you! Amelia don’t you get that?! I fucking trusted you and this is what you do to me?! Sleep with one of my closest friends?!” Alex’s eyes flickered, seeing the whole fraternity now starting to come out of the house, watching their every move. He shook his head and looked down at her. “Come get your stuff tomorrow. It will be outside.” He finished, as he looked back up at the person who he once considered his friend. “Fuck you too Darren!” Alex called out to him, kicking some road water into Amelia's face. She got up in a hurry, stomping up to Alex. “Deal with it. It’s done and so are we.” His heart shattered even further, his jaw clenching tightly to hold back his emotions as he turned to walk away. He sat up, inhaling deeply as his eyes flashed open. He looked around the room trying to get a feel for his surroundings, seeing Maddie still asleep next to him. He let his breath go slowly as he ran his fingers through his own hair. ‘It was just a dream. The same dream. But a dream nevertheless.’ Alex told himself as he hopped out of bed quietly and headed down to his office. “This is the fourth night in a row you know.” Sebastian told Alex as he noticed the light in the office come on. He shook his head in agreement. “Do you think it has anything to do with the night of the charity?” He could hear Sebastian ask, feeling himself cringe in response. “Honestly, I don’t know. They weren’t here til after that night. Could be. It will pass.” Alex tried to shake it off as he got himself comfortable behind his desk, beginning to dig through old files. “Does Miss Taylor know?” He shook his head. The last thing he wanted to do was to worry her even more and he refused to do so. “She doesn’t need to know and you are not going to tell her. Understand?” Alex responded as he opened up a manila folder, searching through the next file that was placed on his desk, black circles now starting to form under his eyes.

“Nice job, Johnson.” Alex told the newest intern on the team who had found signs of a bullet hitting a rib. He held the rib bone up into the light and pointed with his finger at the different ricochet patterns. “Is this the only markings you found?” He asked curiously as he set the bone back in place along the table, picking up the one above it. “So far Dr. Maxwell but I haven’t finished looking.” Alex nodded as he held the next bone up into the light, furrowing his brow. He paused for a moment. “I don’t think this was a bullet. Just because if it was there would be marks on either the top or the bottom and their isn’t....” His thoughts trailed off as he brought the bone down and placed it back on the table. “Jessica! Take this bone and find a weapon that could match this please.” Alex called out, taken off guard by the fact Maddie was now on her way up to the platform with Sebastian. He shook his head with a couple of blinks trying to see if he was imagining things. No. She really was right there in front of him. Alex held a hand up to stop her before she hit the stairs. “Not up here.” He told her as he pulled his gloves off and tossed them in the bio-hazard container. He then left his Dr. Coat up on the rack and made his way off the platform, now standing in front of her. “When you say we have a problem that doesn’t make me feel any better to see you darling.” He said to her as he lifted an arm out, navigating them to his office, shutting the door behind them. His eyes flickered from Sebastian to Maddie as he tried to asses how bad the situation was. “Sir if I may.” Sebastian piped up toward the door as Alex tried to make heads or tails of the current situation. He rolled his head to look at him and raised an eyebrow “Go ahead.” he said to him. Sebastian closed his eyes for a moment, knowing that the next set of details was probably not going to be pleasant. “Roses and a note that says she belongs to him. Got the briefing from Daniel.” Alex’s eyes grew a bit wider and were now turning into a deeper blue as anger started to build up. He turned to look at Maddie, pure rage and annoyance on his face. “Who is it. Which poor, pathetic soul thinks they even withstand a chance?” he asked lowly, sitting back in his chair. He tried to piece it all together from the previous events. Her nightmares, the recent kidnapping, all of it. The places that were turned over night after night just for Daniel and him to catch a lead. “Do you think it is the same guy from that night?” Alex asked her, wanting to confirm his own suspicions. He had a feeling that it was all going to be one tightly wrapped bow put together. “What did Daniel have to say?” he questioned. Daniel was just as much in with this as Alex was. Hell the man watched him almost die trying to save her from the truck. He looked over to Maddie and gave a slight smile, trying to ease his anger just a bit. This wasn’t her fault. This time. “We will get this taken care of. How about we just go home. I can finish up here later.” Alex looked out the small window out to the platform watching everyone work. “Besides. I’ll have to take the lead on the next person who comes across that table.” He chuckled, already having thoughts about his next course of action.

Alex had just shed his gloves off after helping the new interns clean the bones of a body who was now on his platform. “Let me know what you find. This one is going to be on the more difficult side.” He warned, quickly being interrupted by his phone vibrating in his pocket. “Excuse me a second.” He called out and he pulled his phone out, retreating into his office. “Mr. Malcolm decided to pay her a visit.” is all the message from Sebastian read and immediately anger boiled inside of him. This guy was really starting to become a pain in Alex’s ass and not one he liked. ‘Be there in 10. Keep her safe.’ He replied back as he grabbed his leather jacket and his helmet. Alex then walked out of the office and waved up at the platform. “Call me with the results!” He called up to his team and headed out, getting himself situated on his motorcycle. It didn’t take long for Alex to make it to the house. He had heard the shots go off, panic starting to set in. He threw his helmet off and ran inside the house seeing Maddie wet and curled up against the wall. “What the fuck happened?!” Alex questioned as he squatted down in front of her, trying to get her to unball herself. He looked up at Sebastian with glaring eyes “Towels and a hot bath. Now!” Alex ordered as he stood up, lowering down to pick her up. He carried her up the stairs, hearing the water running in the distance. “I see you took the balcony down.” He tried to lighten up the mood as he looked out the window to the balcony of their bedroom. “It’s quite fun the more you do it. I promise.” He teased as he hit the side of his leg, whistling for Belle. The pup ran up the stairs and stood by Alex’s side. He then sat Maddie down on the edge of the bath platform, reaching over to turn the water off. He turned back to her and squatted down in front of her. “I will get the carpets replaced.” he whispered to her as he reached out and gave her leg a slight rub. “I am proud of you. You did amazing.” He reassured her before giving her leg a quick squeeze before leaning up to kiss her. “Get yourself comfortable and in the bath. I’ll be back shortly.” Alex smiled up at her before standing up fully and walking back downstairs. Alex pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath in before looking at Sebastian. “Did he even say what he wanted?” he questioned as he began to pace back and forth in the kitchen. Sebastian shook his head “The only thing was that he objected her marrying you and that the conversation wasn’t over.” Alex couldn’t help but laugh. “His conversation is definitely over. I can assure that.” He stated as he stopped before turning to Sebastian with a smile as big as he could manage. “What do you say we go pay good ol’ daddy a visit. Shall we?” Sebastian nodded before walking out of the room, getting all the files possible ready. Alex’s eyes flickered up the stairs. He knew he had to go tell Maddie that he was going to be leaving again. He hated having to tell her he was leaving but this time it was different. Alex took the stairs two steps at a time and made it back into the master bathroom. “Hey baby girl. I am going to be stepping out here for a few hours. When I get home we can set up some sort of outside activity.” He said to her. He leaned down and gave her a kiss, pulling away with a smile. “I love you. Remember that.” Alex then headed back into his office and began strapping himself up with his weapons, getting ready for a good old fashioned chat.

“I have no idea what you are talking about.” Alex said to her as he kept his eyes straight on the road. He knew she had been talking about the tracker and the listening device but he knew if he told her she was going to hit him. He thought carefully. His next move was probably going to cost him a week in the dog house but he didn’t care. He reached down under the seat and pulled out a paid of steel hand cuffs, cuffing her to him. He looked from Daniel and then back to Maddie, giving a slight smile. “A thank you would be appreciated but since you wanted to threaten to hop out of the car, this is how we are handling this.” He mused as he closed his eyes momentarily, opening them back up. “Bracelet has a listening device on the mask charm. Earrings are trackers.” He admitted as he used his free hand to snap the rubber band on his cuffed hand. “Before you start yelling at me, saved your life didn’t it.” He pointed out, trying to reason with her. As Daniel pulled up to the house, Alex reached under for the hand cuff key, fiddling with it in his hand. “Now I am going to unlock us from here. Do not and I repeat. Do Not throw your fucking shoe at me.” He warned her as he put the key inside the key hole and clicked it unlocked, doing the same for himself. He placed the hand cuffs back in their perspective place and hopped out of the SUV, going into the house. Once inside, he turned to look at Sebastian. “I want everything known to man on Mr. Malcolm on my desk in an hour.” he warned as he made his way into the library. Going to his office was only going to piss him off. He wanted to work but he had nothing to go off of other than what he had heard through Maddie’s bracelet and honestly he didn’t like what he heard. He didn’t like the fact that if he was blind it would have taken days to find her. He didn’t like that some random man was now trying to wiggle his way close to her and tell her things about him. He wasn’t the best person on the planet and he knew that, but he was good at keeping her safe from it. Alex pulled a book off the shelf and sat in one of the bigger chairs in the corner of the library. He had to keep his mind off of the day he had. Before he knew it Sebastian was standing in front of him with two huge file folders. “This one is on Mr. Malcolm” Sebastian handing him the folder on the left. “And this one is on Mr. Taylor. I do think you’ll want to read through them both.” Sebastian warned before turning on his heels to walk out of the library. Alex sighed and set the book down. He opened the folder on Mr. Taylor first, skimming through the information.

Alex glanced back and forth at his watch counting the minutes. He had promised her to give her five minutes before going up there and making a scene, especially at her work. He hated the idea but chose to respect it. As the clock hit 7:05 Alex looked at Sebastian “Let’s go.” he huffed, as if almost annoyed. The two made it into the building and immediately heard a crash from a few floors up. Sebastian and Alex both looked at each other before racing their way up the stairs, two at a time. He rounded the corner to the office building and saw Maddie on the ground, the man standing over him. Anger took over and Alex rushed over to the two of them, reaching out and grabbing Eric by the throat. He lifted him up off of her, the man now struggling to get air into his lungs. “Oh. You don’t like that?” Alex mused as he threw him back as far as he could, Eric sliding across the floor and him quickly catching up. Sebastian watched from the distance, his first priority being Maddie. “Are you okay Mrs. Maxwell?” he asked curiously as he reached out to help her up. “I don’t think we should be here for this.” He tried to warn her, pointing to the office door. “You think you get to touch my wife like that? Taking what is mine?!” Alex yelled as he knelt down on Eric’s chest, forcing him down to the ground. His eyes met the other man’s, pure hatred radiating from them. “You have two seconds to tell me why I shouldn’t kill you.” He mused, holding one finger up to symbolize one second. “My wife there, she will try to tell me not to do it but you see you’re worthless to me. Expendable if you will.” He explained, Eric’s eyes getting wider with fear. “Oh sorry, I took up your two seconds. Oh well.” He grinned as he got up off of him, picking him up by the shirt. He then forced him out to the hallway of the office building, shoving him against the rail. “Lucky for you. You won’t die but you know what? You will b e out of commission and out of a job and I like that idea.” Alex smirked as Eric began pleading for him not to do it. Not giving a care in the world, he shoved him over the railing, turning back to Sebastian and Maddie who were still standing in the office. “You know the longer we stand here the later it gets and I now have one heck of an appetite.” Alex called back to her, looking down from the top as the ambulances now swarmed the area. “Let’s take the back way. Someone decided to cause too much commotion.” he couldn’t help but laugh as he made his way back into her office. “Are you doing okay?” Alex asked her as he inspected her neck, checking for any marks that could have been caused. He also checked to make sure she wasn’t hurt in any other way. “This is why the five minute rule is stupid you know. I could have been here and picked you up and this could have been avoided. You know this right?” he questioned as he walked over to the small office mini fridge, pulling himself out a bottle of water. “Five minute rule is now retracted and that guy is now fired. Not allowed. Understand?” Alex turned back to look at Maddie with a serious face, not taking any other words for an answer.

Alex stared at her as he raised an eyebrow, not sure what to do in this moment. Her crying and hiccuping was too much emotion for him. He shook his head as his jaw clenched “You brought invaders into the house. My house!” Alex screamed. This was new for him. He was always careful to keep his house private. A sanctuary some would call it. He inhaled deeply, reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose. “Do you want to have to start fresh? Blow this one up and try again? Because we are so close to that it’s ridiculous!” His rant continued as he threw his hands out but restrained them in frustration. “Go. Just go get yourself into a shower and then into bed.” Alex huffed as he switched lights from the over head to the lamp on his desk, Sebastian and Flynn now at the door. He turned to look at them both. “Secure the perimeter. Make sure there isn’t any stragglers. In fact...” he trailed off as he grabbed his weapon and slammed ammo into the bottom of it. “I’ll go with.” Alex glared over at Maddie and shook his head in disbelief. “I’ll handle you later. Bed. Now.” His tone was matter of fact, his eyes deep honey brown color. He then turned to face the men at the door and headed out with them, taking different sections of the house. He kept his gun pointed and ready, clearing room after room. Some moments a bit harder when the cats would jump onto furniture, scaring the shit out of him. “You know Jinx. One day I am going to accidentally shoot you.” Alex chuckled as he reached out to her and scratched under her chin. He then continued clearing the separate rooms, rounding into the library. Alex’s eyes flashed from row to row, mentally clearing each one. as he rounded the corner into the fourth row, he noticed someone rounding into the fifth. “Not another one.” he mumbled to himself as he moved two rows over, rounding the sixth. Without a word he let out three shots, catching the person in the leg. Alex kept his weapon drawn as he moved closer, the person still on the ground. “You have three seconds before I blast you. Who are you and who do you work for?!” He demanded, the man crying out in pain. Alex rolled his eyes. “One...Two...” Before he could get to three the man raised his hands and interrupted him. “I work for Malcolm. He told me to come for the girl.” His eyes showed fear but Alex’s showed satisfaction. The hunt was on and he just caught his prize. “I’ll send you back with a message for him. The girl is mine.” Alex smirked as he took his gun and put two more bullets into his legs. The man screamed out and Sebastian ran into the library, Flynn right behind him. Alex looked at them both. “Hand deliver to Mr. Malcolm himself please. Then clean this up. She will get pissed if the library is ruined in any way. He told them both before taking his weapon and putting it on his side. Alex then made his way up into the room and got himself comfortable, laying down on the bed. He took a look at his watch and smirked. “You know, I am getting better and better at this hunting thing.” Alex mused as he settled under the covers, turning to look at Maddie. “Be more careful next time.” He whispered before falling asleep where he lied.

Music Monday
Alex jumped up and down to the music as he had a grip on the railing that separated the stage and the crowd. Not many people knew but he loved music festivals and the vibe of the crowd was electrifying for him. “Let me see you ride it!” he screamed at the top of his lungs and he jumped around with alot of different people. As the music started to switch over from one mix to the next, Alex took a look around not seeing Maddie or any of the guards. Starting to get a little worried, Alex fought his way through the sea of people trying to find a familiar face. He came to the middle of the rave where the mosh pit started to come to an end, finally seeing Sebastian. “Hey man! Have you seen the Misses?” He screamed as he let his body still move to the music. Sebastian shook his head. “Thought you had her!” Alex shook his head confused “What?! Just find her!” Alex waved him off and made his way toward the back of the rave, letting the music control his music. Once he made it outside the event, Alex looked over to the right, seeing Maddie against the wall. He raised an eye brow in confusion as he made his way over to her, sliding next to the wall next to her. “Holy hell! This is amazing!” Alex grinned as he let his breath catch up with his now slowing heart rate. Alex looked over to her, she looked relaxed. A little too relaxed. “For once, what ever you are on I want some.” He told her as he made his way back into the rave, finding the pill supply and taking some for himself. He then let the music take him to a higher level, feeling relaxed and danced his way back to Maddie at the back of the rave, hoping to get her to vibe with him.

Alex winced in pain as Maddie had him put his head in his lap. His body was doing everything it could to stay out of shock and in the present. “I didn’t plan to not be here.” He said to her in a whisper, his throat almost cracked from the dryness. Alex grunted in pain as he attempted to stand up, his body pulsing with pain from the open wounds. “I just want to lay in bed.” he stated lowly, crawling into bed the best he can, curling up with a pillow. Sebastian heard Maddie’s yell and immediately ran up the stairs to her. He closed his eyes, trying to fight back the protest as he watched the scene unfold in front of him. “Well Miss Taylor. Alex has a lot of enemies, I can only think that one of them got to him. I’m surprised he made it out alive.” Sebastian said to her as he walked closer, helping her up off the floor. “I told him to go to the hospital but you had precedence to that idea.” He let his eye’s flicker to Alex then back to Maddie. “I’m letting you make this call.” Sebastian stated simply before leaving the room. “I am not going.” Alex protested the best he could from where he was. “I don’t want them asking me questions. I refuse.” He was being stubborn and he knew it but after being gone for so long he just wanted the comfort of his own home. Alex pushed himself up, well at least tried to but fell back to the pillow. He closed his eyes and let out a small sigh. “Bring them here then. I don’t want to physically go there.” He pleaded with her. He would get the help from medical professionals but he wasn’t leaving his spot. Overhearing the conversation, Sebastian rounded the corner into the bedroom. “They are on their way. Miss Taylor there are probably going to be some decisions you are going to have to make with his care.” He warned her as he stepped aside, letting the now medical aide come in through the door. Alex’s breaths were now staying steady but very low and shallow. The nurses helped pull him into an upright position, Alex screaming at the pain. He hated even being in this position. When he got better, the man who did this was going to lose everything and everyone close to him, swore by it. The nurses began running I.V’s into him, starting with fluids and pain medication. His now tense body starting to relax. He rolled his head to look at Maddie standing at the end of the bed, giving her a soft smile the best he could. He reached a hand out to her. “Have you eaten? Taken care of yourself?” Alex asked weakly, grabbing her hand. Before he could say anything else, one of his colleagues came into the room with a needle of medicine. “Say goodnight Alex. You know better than I do...” Alex closed his eyes but did not protest. “Please don’t leave me there for too long.” He pleaded. The doctor nodded and injected the medicine into the I.V. Within five minutes he was asleep and finally resting. The Doctor turned to Maddie, shaking his head. “I had to in order to have them clean him up. He wouldn’t have been the most comfortable. Do we have permission to start tending to his wounds?” he asked as he looked back to Alex and the nurses now setting up different things needed for minor stitches and cleaning items. “It won’t take us too long but he is going to be out of commission for a while, I do hope you know that.” Dr. Johnson mentioned as he waited for the go ahead to start tending to Alex.

Alex looked down at her with a small smile “I love it when you are feisty like that.” He mused as he pulled her close to him, stealing a quick kiss. “I apologize that I left you here, I had to handle some unfinished business.” Alex tried to play it off, closing his eyes once he heard the question about the blood come off her tongue. Shit he was caught. “I had a small nose bleed. Must not of cleaned everything up like I thought I did.” He didn’t like lying to her but right now was not the time to dive deep into his endeavors of the evening. He could tell that she was physically annoyed with that fact that she had been alone and meeting people without him next to her. It wasn’t what he had planned for the evening himself. He was definitely going to have to make this up to her some how. A few people that he had worked with and a couple of interns who had worked for him came up and said their hello’s. He introduced Maddie to those who hadn’t had the chance to meet her, also saying his goodbye’s for the evening. “The Misses isn’t feeling all that well. Time to retire the evening.” Alex nodded to some of the other Forensic Scientists, some of them almost appalled. “Alex? Are you the same person? A family man now? Who knew!” One of them smiled and he just laughed. If only they knew the half of it. He said the rest of his goodbye’s and wrapped an arm around Maddie almost forcing her out of the front door. “Don’t say another word.” Alex mumbled lowly to her as he forced her into the back of the SUV that Sebastian had open and waiting. He immediately rolled his eyes, turning his body to face her. He already knew the two were going to fight. She would blow up on him and Alex would show her who was really in charge. “Before you say anything. Please remember who I am.” He told her as he turned himself to face forward in his seat, not wanting to see the attitude on her face. “Yes it was necessary. Yes there is blood on my watch. No don’t worry about it.” Alex tried to answer all the questions she could possibly throw at him, shutting it down super early. He didn’t want to deal with it. Not right now. He was still reeling from the adrenaline from his night. Alex glanced over at her, almost apologetically. “Look, it wasn’t an ideal night, and if I go into details two things could potentially happen. Well three. One is you get mad. Two is you get scared. Three is you leave me because you are scared. I don’t like those options so it isn’t worth going into.” He shrugged as he watched Sebastian pull into the drive way. He turned to look at Maddie, reaching out to touch her face. “I’m sorry the night wasn’t great and that I left you alone. You look gorgeous and I love you.” He said lowly as he opened up his car door and hopped out, heading inside. He went straight for his office and took his watch off. He let it sit out on the desk and shook his head, the feeling of regret settling in. “Fuck!” Alex yelled out as he turned and socked the wall, Flynn coming in quickly. “Boss what’s wrong?” He rolled his head back and looked at the ceiling. “Killing him put her in danger. That psycho bitch will be back and it will be a life for a life. My life is not who she will be coming for.” Alex let out an exaggerated sigh that almost came out like a yell. “Alex....friend to friend. She started it, you finished it and you have more protection that the president at your finger tips. Madeline will be fine.” Flynn tried to reassure him. Alex held up a finger. “It’s Maddie. Don’t let her hear you.” He chuckled, his eyes getting red as he tried to hold back tears of fear and anger. “Security will have to be bumped up for the next couple of weeks. Just keep them out of her sight. I don’t need her any more mad at me than she probably already is.” Flynn nodded in agreement and headed out of the office, leaving Alex to his own destructive mind.

I’ll Be Taking Her
Alex mused behind his computer screen as he listened to the words the man spit out to her. He took pride in being able to keep her safe but this time wasn’t his fault. He had only gotten the text from Daniel that something was wrong and the two had hashed it out again. Sometimes Alex felt bad for the hard time that he had given the men who were in charge of her but at the same time he had high expectations. Not to mention that she had been sleeping away a lot more lately. They were getting comfortable and he was going to change that real quick. He looked up at Sebastian and Daniel who now stood in front of him, turning his computer screen for them to see. “At first I felt like a dick for permanently tracking her, but since she has a thing of ditching her phone I had to think of something.” He shook his head as he pointed to the circle that was now zeroing on a location. “Lucky for me, I planted not only a tracker in her ear rings but a small audio bug on one of the charms of her bracelet. I have eyes and ears all over her location.” He stood up and went over to the far wall, running his hand over the drywall. “Where the hell did she put that damn button.” he mumbled. Being a newly designed office made it a bit harder to be quick when he was still getting used to the layout. Finally a piece of the wall sank in a bit and the weapons closet opened. “As I was saying. Someone said they are her real father?” he questioned over to Daniel as he got himself strapped up with different weapons. “Anything ring a bell?” Alex asked as he looked over to him, getting ammo clipped to the belt. “Either way he said I shouldn’t be able to find her but how wrong he is. Let’s go rescue the damsel in distress.” he said to the men as he sent the location to his phone before taking off from the house. Alex pulled up about a block away from the location that he was told to go to. He knew better than anyone that if he went in there guns blazing not only could he get hurt but Maddie would be mad and he didn’t know which one was worse. Alex pulled the briefcase from the trunk and scaled up the fire escape, getting situated on the roof. He then put the sniper rifle together, looking through the scope. “The building is crawling with men.” Alex mumbled to himself. He had to be as stealthy as possible. He attached the silencer to the end of the barrel and scoped out his shot, taking out one of the men up top. Sebastian had taken out two of the other men from the building across the street from where Alex was at. Keeping them guessing was making them panic and he loved the chaos. He pulled his weapon apart and packed it away, leaving it there for Flynn to recover. Alex made his way into the building where Maddie had been at. He cleared each room that he had entered, leaving a basement door for last. He leaned down and picked the lock and opened it silently. He then made his way down the stairs with his weapon drawn, entering the room where she had been held with the man. Once he came into sight, Alex and her new found father were staring face to face, Alex not letting up his grip on his weapon. “For some one who doesn’t approve, you aren’t that great yourself.” He stated as he took a shot, clipping him in the leg on purpose. He needed time to get away and with all his men down, Alex had time. He reached over and grabbed Maddie, putting her over his shoulder. He turned around and looked at the man down on the ground in pain. “Looks like the days you could keep her here were only hours. Not that impressive. I’ll be taking what’s mine now.” Alex mused as he walked up the stairs and out of the house, tossing Maddie into the back of an S.U.V with him, ordering Daniel to drive as fast as he could once they were in.

I’ve Had Enough
Alex paced the floor in front of his new found target and now sworn enemy. He couldn’t believe he had spent months trying to track him down and now he was sitting right here in front of him. “Finally. Fucking finally. You are a hard man to find Mr. Boyce.” Alex let the words roll off his tongue in satisfaction. For the moment he had won and it felt so amazing. He let himself pace the floor a couple more times before standing in front of him, turning his back toward him. Without another word, Alex turned around quickly, slamming his fist into the man’s face as hard as he could. He knew he couldn’t kill him where he stood, Maddie would kill him and honestly he wasn’t worth having his men clean up after. “How dare you make her life a living hell. For what? Because you are controlling? Because you can’t stand the fact that she didn’t want you? Threw you out like a child does a toy that they are no longer interested in?” Alex laughed, his voice echoing the cement walls. He took a deep breath and shook his head, turning to walk back to the shadows. “You are almost like a trophy to me you know. With your so called mafia a rival to my well established team of men. You have pretty much nothing yet you still continue to be a pain in my ass. Every fucking day.” Alex could feel the anger course through his veins. He turned himself to face Carter who was stuck in place in the dead center of the room. He took a couple of steps forward and threw a punch at the same spot as the first one. “I’ve have enough!” Alex roared as he reached out and grabbed Carter’s shirt and forced him back on the back legs of the chair. He held him out as far as he could physically go without breaking the chair underneath him. “You are going to leave her alone. Before you ask what happens if you don’t, let me show you.” Alex brought him straight upright and walked over to a laptop that was placed on one of the work benches. He hit the button on the keyboard and the camera feed of Autumn came up for him to see. “It would be a shame if something were to happen to her wouldn’t it.” Alex clicked his tongue a couple of times, shaking his head. “Damn. Sucks doesn’t it. Being this powerless, knowing I could take her down at any moment.” Alex turned his attention back to Carter with a smirk on his face. “One more wrong move against my Fiance and I promise you....” he trailed off for a moment trying to think of the correct words. “I promise I’ll take her from you. Then you can feel like I did for months, except it will be worse for you. Understand me?” Alex asked as he reached back out for his shirt, this time pulling him closer. He made sure his blue hues met Carter’s in a dead serious stare before slamming his chair down to the ground. He turned around toward the exit. “Cut him lose.” He ordered Sebastian who had been standing there the whole time, making sure Alex didn’t kill him. He then walked out of the room and disappeared before anyone could see.

You Don’t Trust Me
“What do you mean you got arrested?!” Alex yelled at Flynn through the receiver, stepping away from the busy London streets. He had just completed the job assigned to him and he was wanting to go pick up something for her as an apology. His jaw clenched. Alex couldn’t believe what he was hearing from the other end. “She fucking got you arrested. To think I was going to spoil her. Now I have to go back and beat her ass.” He thought for a moment as he looked at his surroundings before looking back to his watch. “Give me three days. Keep her held for three days.” He hung up the phone and shoved it back into the inside pocket of his suit jacket, hailing a cab to the airport. He took the most ready flight back out to the Maldives. The flight was long as much as boring but it gave him enough time to think about how he was going to handle the situation. If he timed it right he would be there before she woke up on the third day. It was perfect and a good way to scare the shit out of her. Who didn’t love a morning scare. The plane touched down and Alex almost smiled with anticipation. He grabbed his small carry on from the above cabin and headed out of the plane, seeing Sebastian at the end of the terminal. “You look fucked up.” he couldn’t help but chuckle as he got the death glare. “I know she is a handful, but that’s why I love her.” he repeated out loud. Not just for Sebastian but for himself also. He took a deep breath in and looked over at the male standing behind him. “You gave her the correct doses right? Just enough to put her to sleep and you fed her right?” Even though Alex was pissed off he was still worried about her well being. She was his weakness after all. Sebastian agreed as he pulled up the the end of the bungalow trail. “As much of a pain in the ass she is. We got it.” he reassured Alex, walking with him down to their place. Once inside, Alex greeted Daniel and shook his head. “How do you do this all the damn time. She’s like a child you know.” he told him as he looked up to the bedroom where a sleeping Maddie now was. He turned toward Sebastian “Let me in please.” Alex closed the door behind him and got himself comfortable in one of the hammocks that was far enough off to the side where she wouldn’t see him right away. He looked at his watch and knew that she would be awake here momentarily, the drugs starting to lose their affects. Alex looked over and saw her sit up, looking almost bored while held prisoner. Without moving a muscle, Alex stayed looking up at the ceiling, swaying back and forth slightly. “The nerve of those guys am I right?” Alex asked almost calmly as he kept his position to the side. “How dare they try to keep you safe in an unknown city where your boyfriend won’t be with you to help. Like who even cares about safety these days?” He shrugged as he rolled himself upright out of the hammock, walking over to her. He positioned himself in front of her and looked down at a now still Maddie. “You know. I was hoping that for once in your damn life you would listen. I said three days did I not? Three fucking days. Was that so God damned hard?!” Alex’s voice began to go up the more his anger started to show. He reached out and took her face in his hand, forcing her to look up at him. His grip got a little tighter before shoving her away with force. No bruises, not on her face. “You are ridiculous! Why didn’t you call? Could have asked for an hour. It wouldn’t have been completely alone but it wouldn’t have been close and personal.” Alex shook his head a bit. He knew that she wouldn’t have gotten that alone time no matter how bad she had wanted it. Not til his work was done. He sighed “This tells me that you don’t trust me enough to have your best interests in mind. You don’t trust me to keep you safe and you can go gallivant the city whenever you want!!” He roared as he swiftly turned around, throwing everything that was on top of the dresser behind him toward the wall in one motion. He turned himself back toward the water, keeping himself a good distance so in the event she tried to push him he would land on the hard floor. “I don’t understand. I give you everything and I mean everything you want and you pull this shit. What more do you want from me? My last name? It’s yours. Children? Later. I physically have nothing left to offer you. So what do you fucking want Madeline?”

Task 011
“Do you see her there Mr. Maxwell? You say no and I swear she will die.” The mysterious man said to him as he pointed to a live feed cam of Maddie swimming out in the ocean. Alex was trapped and he knew it. The one time he wanted a vacation with no work. Look at what he got, work. “Oh, and she is not to know about any of this. We are always watching.” Alex shook his head in almost disbelief. He was really getting black mailed. “Whose the target. I don’t go in blind and my fee is pretty high.” Alex stated. He had no choice than to accept it but he was going to accept on his terms. The man looked at him and shut the laptop, packing it away. “The files will be sent to you on your tablet. No paper as we can’t have Miss Taylor finding out. As for your fee.....as if her life wasn’t enough to sway you......I have wired 1.25 million into your account. See it through.” In a moment the man and his three men were gone, leaving Alex in a bit of a bind. He looked out at the water to see a swimming Maddie, having fun with the ocean life. His heart broke a little knowing he was going to have to hurt her. Deciding on telling her later, Alex pulled out his bag and began to pack his things. It didn’t take long for her to hop up onto the porch of the bungalow, questioning his every move. “I have to get back.” Alex simply told her as he tucked away a couple of shirts into the bag. He flowed around the room and grabbed all of his necessities, packing them away. “Please stop asking me to go with you. I can’t. I have to leave.” Alex tried to keep a calm voice as he zipped up the duffel bag and turned to face her. He was getting frustrated at the constant asking to go with her for a swim, feeling powerless in the situation. “If you want to swim take one of them!!” Alex snapped at her, pointing out to Flynn and Sebastian. “I am sure they would love to finish out this vacation with you but I can’t okay!” he yelled, taking a moment to walk out to the porch. He took a deep breath in let it out slowly as he tried to get himself to calm down. Before he could turn around to face her, Alex felt the rush of cold ocean water hit his skin. ‘Did she just fucking really?’ he thought to himself as he pulled himself above the water, taking a huge breath in. “Are you serious right now?” he asked her as he looked at her now standing above him. He swam over to the side and pulled himself up out of the water and made his way up to her, now standing over her. He didn’t say a word. His eyes were now a deep blue with rage and he could feel it. He reached out and grabbed her by both arms, gripping his fingers into her skin and lifted her up to him, face to face. “When will you learn?” Alex asked her as his grip got tighter into her skin. “Hope you’re a fast swimmer.” he warned her as he threw her over the edge of the porch, watching her hit the water. He turned to Sebastian and nodded toward her. “Get her before she drowns. I want her alive.” he ordered. Alex then quickly changed into a dry set of clothes and grabbed his duffel bag, walking down the wooden walkway to the airport shuttle.

Drabble 006
Alex locked himself away in his office, taking in a deep breath and setting his head down on the desk. Another day, another fight and that is was their new normal at the moment. He hated it but sooner or later she would have to learn that what he said went. The quicker she learned that then the better their relationship would be. Time moved by a bit slower than he thought. He looked at his watch and only an hour had passed. He stood up from his desk and before he could open the door, Sebastian had knocked. “Come in.” Alex stated as he took a seat on the couch across from his desk, his brows furrowing once he saw him. “Let me guess, she threw a fit and went back to her own house?” he asked a bit cocky, already knowing the answer. Sebastian hesitated for a moment “She’s gone sir.....” the man said lowly. Alex pinched the bridge to his nose and sighed “Why does she always run. Running gets her absolutely no where.” he sighed as he pushed himself up off the couch. “Find her. Report back. Bring her to me. The whole nine.” Alex dragged on. How many times was he going to have to repeat himself to his men. It was a broken record at this point. This time Alex was the one that stayed behind. One man always stayed behind in case she came back while the rest were crawling the streets of London for her. “I’ll be here.” He stated simply and walked down the hallway to his own room, kicking himself up on the bed. Minutes turned to hours and still no sign of her anywhere. Alex looked at the time and sure enough it was already 4 am. Rage was already boiling through his skin but this made it worse. He picked up the phone and quick dialed Sebastian. “Anything?” Alex asked. This was about the millionth time he had reached out. How could one small girl give the foot work to two trained men. “Just fucking...” Before he could finish his sentence, Alex heard his name being screamed at the bottom of the house. “I have her. Get here asap. She isn’t alone.” he hung up the phone, hearing her scramble up the stairs, heavier foot steps behind her. He quickly reached under the bed and grabbed his pistol and loaded in the ammo, making his way out of the room. Alex turned the corner of the hallway toward the office. He could see a shadow figure standing in the doorway, starting to make their way into the room. He kept his gun pointed at the man, slamming the barrel into his head, keeping it aligned with his temple. “Lights out.” He said to the man, his voice cold as ice as he pulled the trigger, the body dropping tot he floor. Alex knew that he wasn’t alone. He looked into the office to see a terrified Maddie holding up a weapon. He had so many questions. In a quick moment, Alex turned himself back toward the stairs just in time to see another man hurrying up the stairs. He quickly pulled the trigger twice, the body dropping to the floor. “Boss!” he could hear Sebastian call from downstairs, running his way up to him. Alex held a hand out, turning over his weapon. “Clean it please.” He asked as he turned his focus back to Maddie. “Put that thing down. Guns kill people you know.” he said to her as he reached his hand out and grabbed the weapon, quickly disarming it. “You leave for a couple of hours, gallivanting all over London to the point Flynn and Sebastian can’t find you and you bring back home invaders....” He trailed off as he turned back to see a group of his men starting to clean the place up. He then turned back to Maddie and held his arms out to the side “What the fuck?”

Task 010

(Borrowed picture from Miss Taylor) Alex has decided that he is taking Maddie to the one and only Maldives. He has planned out this whole vacation and intends to do nothing except relax and show his girlfriend a good time. On the agenda is snorkeling along the coral reef, a dinner date on the beach for two and a visit to the famous underwater restaurant. The two will also be staying right on the water so soaking up the sun will definitely be a must. One thing that Alex is upset to have to leave behind is his work. He is a workaholic and is always sneaking to his office at night to get himself ahead and to prep for the unknown. However he did promise Maddie that he would be completely relaxed and work free. Alex is excited though that he got to bring his camera. Not a lot of people know this but Alex is sort of a picture taking nerd. If he has a shot then he is going to take it. Let’s hope this vacation gives him a ton of photo opportunity.
