The hard truth about autism acceptance that a lot of people don't want to hear is that autism acceptance also inherently requires acceptance of people who are just weird.

And yes, I mean Those TM people. Middle schoolers who growl and bark and naruto run in the halls. Thirtysomethings who live with their parents. Furries. Fourteen-year-olds who identify as stargender and use neopronouns. Picky eaters. Adults in fandoms. People who talk weird. People who dress weird.

Because autistic people shouldn't have to disclose a medical diagnosis to you to avoid being mocked and ostracized for stuff that, at absolute worst, is annoying. Ruthlessly deriding people for this stuff then tacking on a "oh, but it's okay if they're autistic" does absolutely nothing to help autistic people! Especially when undiagnosed autistic people exist.

Like it or not, if you want to be an ally to autistic people, you're going to have to take the L and leave eccentric, weird people alone. Even if you don't know them to be autistic. You shouldn't be looking for Acceptable Reasons to be mean to people in the first place. Being respectful should be the default.

hate HATE so called educational biology videos that are like "look at this ugly animal. isnt it disgusting ? dont you want to throw up while looking at it ? isnt it so yucky disgusting" arent you supposed to appreciate wildlife and educate people on them ? what do people learn from this. like if a person goes to watch your video on flatworms and thinks theyre ugly little things that should be killed then what are you doing but reinforcing their belief. thats not educating them. i dont care if being all "haha kill it with fire im so quirky" gets you more views. you just kind of suck. also i spoke to the flatworms and none of them even knew you.

I Got It!

The reason why people are uncomfortable with humanoid Pokemon designs is because of lack of definition of what they even are. Sometimes they’re animals, sometimes they’re spirits, sometimes they’re deities. We never get a definitive answer to “What IS a Pokémon?”

People are uncomfortable with animals being humanlike, but who says they’re strictly the Pokemon universe’s animals?

TL;DR: If Gamefreak said that Pokemon were just “any non-human being in the Pokemon universe”, the whole thing about them needing to quit making humanoids would go *poof*
