She's got another puppy in her shoe bag, and has snuck one into AKBs jumper (that she borrowed because she was "cold"). AKBs like I feel I need a really relaxing lie down and maybe a hot bath to try and work out the injuries and Jess is like yes, that sounds like a great idea, and also what you should do before that is go for a nice walk? Possibly with a fluffy pet to make you walk faster? Also I was thinking we should go for a coffee date on the way home. Maybe to a cafe next to a pet supplies shop?

No jess is barely restraining 15 puppies in her bag and she’s like Ann you go take a long long bath and then while akb is distracted Jess takes the 15 puppies to petsmart

Gotham are actually telling all their forwards not to score so then when they scrape into the playoffs everyones like nahhhhh theyre not getting anywhere and bam! Ten goals each 😂

my fave is when commentators seperately mention the birmingham-chelsea-gotham club trajectory both of them have had. One similar club transfer could be a coincidence but moving to the same new club twice? 🤣 accidental obvs

They’re decisions to always sign for the same club is just a coincidence they don’t even consider the other it just happens that the best deal is always from the same club

Thats definitely just a friend's face, and not the face of a woman melting over her partner being cute. Akb is definitely not visibly getting visions of her future with jess and puppies. Genuinely looking at her it looks as if shes about ten seconds away from asking if the gotham admin is able to officiate weddings 🤣

But imagine being one of the forwards, missing a sitter and then turning round to Berger looking at you like you've personally disappointed her and muttering in German? I'd become a record breaking goal scorer to avoid it happening again 😭

Theres definitely both a race and nationality thing with the consistent overlooking of Jess. I think there is a really interesting study to be done about how Black players are spoken about in comms and how their good moments aren't expanded on or discussed and their mistakes are highlighted in comparison to the white players. Or who get discussed for longer discussions, or who get editorialised to make certain they get the full story about the backstory or their quality.

The comms from last night for example mentioned a lot of the international playing careers of the players - discussed Esther coming in second in the Euros to England, without mentioning a single time that Jess was on that pitch for England winning the Euros. Not even certain they mentioned Jess was an international player. But its consistent across all Black players - especially those who aren't stars. English comms are particularly bad for it though.

It’s like how comms are constantly talking about Black players pace and strength but talk about white players skills. Like they can name every skill a white player has, but Black players are just fast and strong

And it’s true, like Sonnett had an own goal and it was a pretty bad mental moment on the field and yeah it happens and everyone comms and fans were like yeah that’s unfortunate a big mistake and then they move on, but if Jess had done it instead of Sonnett you know the reaction would be different, like white players can have bad games or bad moments, but Black players have to be perfect and never make a mistake or they’re shit

And it’s super insidious to talk about Esther at the euros but not mention Jess, especially after everything that happened and the abuse she faced, it was a chance to talk about her performance and how well she played under pressure and instead they just ignore her completely

Really theyre playing the long game and trying to emulate the 2023 championship- barely scraping into the playoffs then winning the whole thing. I see the vision.

the actual answer is jess and sonny hand custody of akb over to the forwards, she becomes an actual outfield player (not necessarily to score goals but because currently shes too far away to be able to glare disappointedly at the forwards every time they miss which would likely scare them into scoring) and shelby starts in goal

You know my soccer team did this once, we had our one goalie play as a midfielder for a season and it was like kinda okay but we were begging our coach to put her back in goal

Maybe we need Jess and Sonny to show the forwards the video of Alyssa's goal with a compilation of AKBs most insane moments with the caption "do you want to be replaced as forwards by a goalkeeper?because if you don't start scoring consistently then she will be your problem next".

Okay I do think we might to have a practice scrimmage with Nealy in goal, midge and Ella as cbs, akb as striker and really put the fear of god in them
