She admired his confidence. Catwoman definitely wasn't a little pussycat. But if he thought he could get the job done without working up a sweat then that would benefit her and what she hopes to accomplish.

"I want to meet up at Ace Chemicals. I want to know no one's going to interfere with me setting up. I've had my eye on that place for a while now and I'm not in the mood to look for another location." She could see why the Joker was so infuriated. The criminals of Gotham couldn't get anything done with the Bat and his friends around. Why did they think they could live above the law while condemning people like herself and Joker for doing the same thing? They were all just trying to accomplish something in their own way.

"I feel like you should also know something since you'll be crossing enemy lines. The Hasigawa family has the place under their protection. I might have tossed their heiress off the roof the last time I was there. So be wary of The Yakuza. Though, a man of your confidence and strength should have nothing to worry about?"

“light ass mission? you do know she’s got batman on her side. it’s best you don’t overestimate her, mr. cage.” punchline wasn’t doubting his abilities, but she didn’t want him to go in there swinging his arms around, thinking he was going to catch catwoman off guard. the fur-ball was quick and feisty. the royal flush went up against her a few days ago and she took them out. it was disappointing.

“what’s your payment? i think 20 grand is fair. ten to take the kitty out and then the other ten when my base of operations has been secured. and if batman shows up and you take him down too, i’ll double it.”

The Bat was MIA hence why he was hired to locate him but perhaps she wasn’t aware of it since it only been three days. Cage wasn’t ready to tip her off on that just yet since her affiliation with the Joker troubled him. Catwoman wasn’t exactly a hero but that didn’t stop Luke from pondering what she wanted with her.

Twenty grand wasn’t too bad for this job. The Bat was unlikely to interfere and Catwoman certainly wasn’t a SHIELD level threat so he was good with this payment - especially with the opportunity to double it.“ Cool. After I bring da lil pussycat in where do you wanna meet up?”

Power Man certainly wasn’t shy about flaunting his credentials. He was superhumanly strong, bulletproof and cocky. The streets taught him to be tough but prison shaped his unbreakable will – and skin. Seagate prison was where Carl Lucas died and Luke Cage was birthed.

“Catwoman? Shit. If you gonna toss me some bread for some light weight ass mission like that we gotta deal.” Though Gotham wasn’t Harlem - far from it, Cage knew his way around the block and knew the gangs pretty well. Hell, Black Mask, Oswald Cobblepot and Rupert Thorne at one time or another sought his services. Cage had a reputation. Still, the merc wasn’t without morals. He knew when things got too far.

“Alleytown. Cats do like them allies don’t they?” He grinned.“ I’ll need half my payment up front and then a rendezvous spot to collect the rest, you dig?”

"I've spent years making sure I was worth Joker's while. I'm not some stupid teenager, I'm a chemist. I can take care of myself." That's what she wants to believe. But with everyone constantly comparing her to Harley Quinn and saying she's just another obsessed groupie, it was starting to weigh on her. "I helped Joker bring Gotham to its knees. We stole everything from Batman. We fucking beat him." She loved it, reveled in it, even though she had to deny it to the court. She wouldn't have gotten off with a slap on the wrist if she told the world she'd do it all over again.

"I'm not just working for the Joker. As I said, we're partners. Working for you would be a step-down. I believe in his message, what's your message? You're just another Dick Grayson. Only more troubled and a liability. I'd rather take my chances with the Royal Flush than team up with another one of Batman's failures."

A cynical laugh echoed through his crimson dome. Bruce and the Joker really are alike, he thought. That maniac of a clown actually had this woman believing she was anything but his a tool. He cared nothing for her -- or anyone for that matter. Just his psychotic mission to spread his infectious brand of chaos, misery and insanity all over Gotham.

"No sweetie, you're a fangirl that's about to find out real soon this world ain't comic con." Silly theatrics won't get the job done alone. Sure it'll scare a few punks half to death but it isn't effective in the long-term.

The Hood's eyes narrow as he cocked his pistols." Crime cannot be stopped, but it can be properly controlled and manipulated. Get one thing straight - I didn't come here to be a hero. I came here to get shit done." His tone remained neutral for he has conquered his anger since his resurrection and advanced training.

"Monsters that cross my authority are rewarded with an eternal nap, get it? So I'll offer you a chance. Work for me. Leave the clown."

"Obsessed? No. We're partners. I'm not a fangirl. I'm going to make sure Joker's message is heard by the world. Then we'll see who's laughing." Punchline was sick of people thinking she was a one-off. She had big plans and wasn't trying to fill anyone's bozo-shoes. She could take Joker's vision and broadcast it in ways he never dreamed of. That was the difference between her and Harley Quinn, she wasn't trying to understand Joker, she was just trying to deliver the punchline.

"What cause are you even fighting for? You want to clean up the streets of Gotham? Keep the monsters at bay? I heard about you Red Hood. The things you've done. You're no hero."

“Why would I want to get inebriated with a mask? Sounds like a cheap trick—I’ll pass. Now move it or lose it, red face.”

"No, I know you're obsessed with the clown. I'm gonna put him down for a good." He said sternly." I came here to give you a chance to abort your allegiance to him - or suffer the same penalty."

Red Hood didn't mince words but he knew there was a slim to none chance she'd abandoned her loyalty to the madman. Still, he has to offer the opportunity to keep a clean conscience. The Joker was a master manipulator but something told him this one was acting without the influence of manipulation.

That's one thing the clown had in common with Bruce. If they couldn't manipulate you they banked on their influential reputation to sway you willing, depending on where you stood morally.

"Well, Power Man, glad to see ego isn't a deal breaker." Punchline walked with purpose and hopped onto the counter, before crossing her legs. She wasn't a hero or a vigilante. The clowness had an entire drug operation in the works, and she nearly destroyed Gotham with the Joker. Her work wasn't for the faint of heart.

"If you want to prove yourself, you start by taking out Catwoman. There's a factory I want to use on her turf in Alleytown. Strongarm her into giving my crew access. If you can pull that off then there are big numbers in store for you, Mr. Cage."

“Bustin’ skulls and cuttin’ throats? Da fuck?” Cage was a lot of things but killer wasn’t one of them. However, this little baddie could be a pretty serious problem for Gotham, especially with the Batman MIA.

Some wealthy British dude hired him to find the Batman and this lady just might know a little something if he stuck around long enough. Harlem had it’s fair share of crazies but nothing like this Joker dude. Sweet Christmas? She just said she was in love with that nigga. Goddamn.

“Ain’t nobody ask Power Man to prove himself in a hot minute. But I’m always ‘bout earnin’ my respect so if I gotta prove myself to you, sweetie then consider it done. Name’s Luke Cage.”

"You lookin' at me because I'm hot - or you lookin' for an unbreakable merc for hire?"

Punchline wasn't in the business of making friends or meeting lovers. The only person she cared for other than herself was the Joker. Yet he hasn't been around much and that was making her angry. "You have an amazing build, but when I look at you I'm not thinking about holding hands...I'm thinking about your fists crushing throats and breaking skulls. If you're for hire, I could be interested, but I barely know you, and in my line of work that can be dangerous. You'd have to prove yourself."

"That's a ridiculously cute little threat. I might actually take you seriously if I was drunk." The vigilante taunted." How about we grab a drink?"
