y’know what else i wanna talk about? eve. the legend the icon the queen. she with kindness love style respect and loyalty. AND INTELLIGENCE!!! SHES NOT JUST SOME BIMBO!!! why else would she strategically frame all of her hundreds, thousands maybe, of selfies to also include incriminating evidence of lex!!! sure she plays the role bc it’s BELIEVABLE!!! everyone believes she’s just an airhead that only cares about looking good but she’s so sweet! and she cares! in lex’s introduction scene we see her in the bg selfie-ing away but when ultraman comes in she doesn’t just basically ignore him like everyone else she runs up and showers him with praise! her arms were up too and i genuinely thought she was going in for a hug which would’ve been so cute! she cares about ultraman and treats him like the living thing he is! i think now as i did then that she only didn’t bc of all that big uncomfy armor. shes always in the room where it happens. she sees everything, knows everything, and no one looks at her. it’s perfect! she went with them to antarctica, she saw the fortress of solitude, she knows about the pocket dimension, she knows who’s in it and why, she still has the number of her reporter ex and immediately replies in full honesty when he asks her anything.

and the selfies themselves were genius! posing in front of the mirror to show who was in a meeting, arranging signed contracts on the floor to look like a perfectly messy pile but still have the signatures and info clearly visible(and she was barely lying on top of them! she only covered the margins! this wasn’t an organic pile on a table or something she STAGED THIS), standing in front of the map of new bolivia and fuckin lutherland or whatever it was called. she didn’t block anything, she didn’t even center herself like any actual self obsessed influencer sugar baby person would she was always to the side and showing something behind her. we saw her at work at the beginning!!! taking a bunch of pictures of the ultra v super fight from the perfect view she had at luther corp.

AND SHE GETS AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE ITS SELFIES!!! she’s not just taking picture of everything she sees she frames it spectacularly as a bimbo bitch bored out of her mind trying to entertain herself in a way that won’t disrupt what’s happening and keep her focused on gathering info!

and my theory for her doing this is bc she is in fact a strategic intelligent self respecting woman who knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. she was clearly still madly in love with jimmy but he was tired of her and is married to his work so they broke up. lex just imprisoned his last gf and eve saw it as an opening and pounced. she got the inside scoop but how? remember jimmy isn’t a journalist he doesn’t write articles he’s a committed PHOTOGRAPHER and she got him PHOTOS. he didn’t block her number bc she was at least useful even if he didn’t like her, she kept a foot in his door. she told him whatever he wanted to know to keep him interested in her in any way. she loves him so bad she figured out where and when and how lex wouldn’t be able to see them meeting up. she said he had cameras everywhere, even if he wanted proof she was seeing someone else even Lex Fucking Luther couldn’t get it bc EVE knew him better than himself. i don’t think she ever liked him bc we didn’t see her even standing that close to him(she almost hugged a fully armed ultraman but we never see her touch her boyfriend? odd). and lex is an unstable control freak, breaking the mug of pencils over and over just for the fun of making people scramble. the shattered pieces could easily cut up his employees hands and he doesn’t give a shit. but he threw a Pencil at her and she snapped. sending all her evidence to jimmy fully knowing it would get her locked up but she was done pretending.

at the end? she was SO HAPPY to be free of lex and get back with jimmy she couldn’t contain herself. and jimmy? he SMILED. it WORKED. eve got him to like her again and saved the world in the process.

i love her so fucking much if we don’t see any more of her i’m gonna riot.

she’s one of the like 5 female characters in the whole gd movie i need to see my amazing incredible wife

I really did love Superman (2025) but I will say I do have one sort of gripe.

I genuinely think Eve should've been treated a bit better by SOMEONE!!!!!!!

She's called dumb, and all her scenes are played for laughs, when she's fucking doing serious journalism by taking those selfies, and in a manner that doesn't put her in harm's way.

She's in an abusive relationship with Lex, he spies on her using the traffic cameras, he uses his giant prison as a threat against her, he throws things at her. And her name is fucking 'mutant toes' in Jimmy's phone.

Even after he uses her and she puts her literal life on the line to help him, he acts like spending a weekend with her is torture.

She's literally screaming in the closet terrified and it's still played unseriously, by immediately cut to Jimmy Olsen fist pumping.

Only for him to realise at the end she's not such an idiot broad ??

She deserved better than him like....

i need y'all to acknowledge that — on top of being smart enough to take selfies with incriminating evidence while being underestimated by everyone around her — eve's selfies made it look like she was just cheating on lex and not ratting him out so when she was caught she was put in lex's pocket prison instead of being killed on the spot
