Day Five.
Today has been the most blissful and relaxing day I’ve had in many months. I got up before 11am (which I was quite proud of) and took myself off to the local cafe which overlooked the beach, I sat here listening to Reputation and enjoying my coffee, bacon and eggs. Afterwards, I took myself on a short walk through a hill to get to a small beach just off the main beach. I walked around taking photos, listening to tay and relaxing on the beach.
It wasn’t a very eventful day, but Its the exact kind of day I needed and enjoyed.

Day Four.
Or the day I like to call “The day I conquered my fears”.
If you’re reading this and know me quite well you’d know that i hate boats, small boats where i can see land don’t bother me so much. Big boats where I can’t see land, bother me a whole lot! I’ve spent a lot of my life avoiding cruises and boats where ever possible. Knowing this piece of information you might think the next part of my journey is a bit of a head scratcher. As the next part of our trip took us from Wellington to the Abel Tasman, which is on the South Island. As you know (obviously) know the islands are separated by water, how do you cross water? THAT’S RIGHT By a bloody big boat! I know you’re thinking “Grace, why didn’t you just take a plane? or just not go!”
Well, of course I wanted to go but the Grace who organised this trip did not connect the dots of taking a Ferry to the south Island would consist of 3 and half hours of mainly seeing nothing but water and minimal land (one of my many blonde moments) Any who, point of the story is that I survived! and made it to the South Island in one piece (and with minimal sea sickness, cause yes I also get extreme motion sickness). After jumping for joy off the boat, we hopped on the bus and started our journey towards Kaiteriteri Beach where we were stopping. We passed through Nelson and stopped in Richmond at a supermarket to stop for groceries and any other supplies we needed.  We passed through the Marlborough region, which made me long for a glass of wine (which I’m still longing for). Around 6pm we arrived in Kaiteriteri beach, where we settled ourselves into the hostel and made some dinner and das was it.

Day Three.
Apologies for the delay in updates.
Today was our last full day in Wellington, Katie and I explored the city and looked around the shops then walked along the waterfront and went to the Museum of Wellington (Te papa). It was a fantastic museum that included Maori history, displays of animals native to New Zealand and an exhibit of Gallipoli, that was created by the museum of wellington with the help of Weta Workshop who made the special effects, props and costumes for the Lord of the Rings.  The exhibit took through you through the ANZACs’ battle from day one to the day they left. Each section started with a statue of a person that experienced the battle and told their story, the statues were large but extremely life like.
After the museum, we went to Mac’s Brewery for a beer and a snack, and Grace met us here after she finished work then we went to a Vietnamese restaurant then off home to pack and get ready for the next day of travel.
