BSD Shin-Soukoku AU with sentient Rashomon who displays Akutagawa’s true feelings

Rashomon launches at Atsushi, however before he can dodge, it stops. Atsushi stares confused, Akutagawa stares, also confused. Rashomon approaches slowly, before nuzzling Atsushi like a cat would its owner. Atsushi is further confused, and Akutagawa blushes realizing what Rashomon is doing. He deactivates the ability, turning around and scoffing,

“My ability seems to be thinking on its own… I shall kill you another day.” And with that, he walks off. Poor Atsushi is left standing there, watching as the jacket forms a tendril to wave a sad goodbye, as Akutagawa begins to scold it.

Thinking about how in the anime Atsushi was perfectly unimpressed by spooky, horror settings that had even Kunikida feeling uneasy. Now I can't help but picture the scenario of Atsushi/Akutagawa movie nights where they pick a horror movie, but it's just both of them watching it with a straight face for the whole duration of the movie 😭😭😭

Atsushi drops the occasional “gross” with a perfectly monotonous and uneffected tone. A couple of times Akutagawa comments “Bodies don't do that when they get slashed. I would know.” Atsushi going “we used to have a similar torture chamber at the orphanage.”

SPOILERS...

So, I'm a little annoyed that as far as we know, Giyu and Sanemi die by the age of 25. And yet... in the descendants/reincarnation panel, they have descendants.

It's just.. kinda ooc to me? Both of these men have been through literal hell, and to me their ending would have been more fitting if they just had a chance to REST and spend time with friends/traveling, doing things for THEMSELVES. Not to mention Giyu lost a friggin arm, you'd think he'd spend ATLEAST a year getting used to that.

And Sanemi lost absolutely everything, that grief must have been horrible.

I digress.. it just strikes me as almost cruel to think they married someone, knocked them up and died 2 years later. Both of them grew up without both parents, so they both understand how hard it is and was for them. And this was back when men provided for the house while the wife stayed home. So, they left their wives behind to probably struggle with kids. It just seems unnecessary.

I've noticed with mangas now that we always have to have a continuation. Why can't things just be left open to interpretation? We don't ALWAYS have to have these time skip, post canon, 50 years later drivel.
