This reminds me of two very cool tools made by the community!
FEFTS (Fire Emblem Fates Text Simulator; formerly known as FEITS/Fire Emblem If Text Simulator) by SciresM, which lets you create custom Fates conversations and portraits
Tumblr media
And Fire Emblem Conversation Editor by SecretiveCactus, which lets you do that and more (I think it's main purpose is creating/editing script files to mod the game, but I've never used it unlike FEITS)
Tumblr media
And while we're at it, it doesn't do Fates like the above two, but there's also FE15-Text-Simulator by Fudgenuggets/ngarces, which was used to make this beautiful work of art:

Was walking around my neighborhood looking for local businesses to apply to, stopped to look out at a bog, and for a split second very earnestly thought "I wonder if they're hiring"

Pspsps. If you like sapphic gothic visual novels, I just released one on itch.io. It's free, short (~25 minutes), runs in most browsers (including mobile, but the buttons are a li'l hard to press), and you don't need to make an account or download anything if you don't want to.
It's a dark fairytale-esque story about a girl who feigns blindness to hide her eyes from a wicked countess who doesn't allow anyone to own things more beautiful than her own. It has full voice acting (and singing) by some great actresses and a bunch of hand-made illustrations and menu elements.
(It's also an adaptation of a short story I had published earlier this month in Marrow Magazine, who publishes lots of good dark fiction.)

📇 My published short fiction:
- There Are No Roses in the Forest (400 words): A man follows a suspicious recipe from the ghost of his husband. Online free in The Pink Hydra.
- Paradise for the Pawned (1,300 words): An entity working at a carnival built with human remains checks in a guest. Also online free in The Pink Hydra.
- The Exile of Iohannes (500 words): A worshipper of a minor deity visits a candlelit shrine to paint him. Online free in Miracle Monocle.
- Death March in Andante (6,000 words): While learning to navigate life in a strange island town after the murder of her twin sister, a girl finds a door to the afterlife. Available in The Arcanist’s Winter 2025 issue, but I recommend reading the original version online free here.
- The Witch's Berceuse (3,100 words): A sapphic tale about a girl who feigns blindness to hide her eyes from a wicked countess who doesn't allow anyone to own things more beautiful than her own. Online free in Marrow Magazine.
🎮 You can play the visual novel version of The Witch's Berceuse online free here.
Other than short stories, I have video game WIP's that will see the light of day soon, novel WIP's that will see the light of day Sometime in the Future Maybe™, and poems that will be posted Once I Edit Them®, so stay tuned©.
