How do they react to the realization that they like the other character? Is it an “oh my god I’m never going to think about this again” thing, or are they pretty comfortable with it?

We're doing Minthe and Ariadne! After Minthe and Hades break up, she isolates herself and mostly goes to work and goes home. She attends a mixer that Ariadne is attending and they hit it off when Ari shows Minthe her pocket lichen.

And Minthe doesn't think about it too hard after that night. Until Ari invites her to another activity. And then another. Eventually Minthe realizes that while they're not doing the things she likes to do all by herself, they are things she likes to do! And thus she is shaken from her self-isolation.

The biggest thing for Minthe in this relationship is finding that there would be romance after Hades, who was basically her high school sweetheart. I don't want to call it rebound, but it is her first romance after that one and she learns a lot. I think she mostly feels relief that she could have romantic feelings again.
