Good morning! I am a newish 3D modeler and am currently making swords for the game Crusader Kings 3. I'm working on a mod that revolves around "A Song of Ice and Fire". I was wondering if you wouldn't mind me loosely basing some of my 3D model weapons after your art? You are a fantastic artist, and it would be a big help for me if that's okay?

Blackfyre, Valyrian Sword of Jon Snow as read in the fanfiction The Ghost by GreedofRage/WrathofAvarice. It is Theorized that Aegor kept the sword in his possession until his dying day and the sword remained the property of the Golden Company. Rather than Sell the blade or return it, the men loyal to Aegor and house Blackfyre kept it in hopes of one day giving the blade to the one who would lead them to reclaim their place in Westeros. In the Ghost, the blade was seized by Myles “Blackheart” Toyne and the hilt redone to match his House’s sigil. He fell in battle and a young Jon Snow, an exile after being resurrected after his murder, found the blade and took it as his. Together with his brother in arms and his mentor, Jon Snow traveled to Tolos and paid a smith to give the sword a new hilt and had it made to resemble the sword of his mentor and friend, Baelgor Aekylosh. Once it was discovered that Jon could use Valyrian magic of Conjuring fire like Baelgor, he trained and learned to set hiss word’s blade aflame with black flames that cast shadow instead of light!
This was number three in the designs I’ve done. I now understand why concept artist do so many designs, or at least half understand. One design isn’t enough, you want to do more and try more with what you have to work with. This has become my favorite of the three I have done. Some of the inspiration came from Zar’roc, the sword of Morzan, Brom, Eragon, and Murtagh from the Eragon book series, the movie version.
The design was digitally done by dragonanddirewolf

Damnation, Valyrian Steel Sword of House Bracken. A greatsword not as famous as Ice of House Stark or Brightroar of House Lannister, but to the Blackwoods the sword is well known for it has taken the lives of many of their House among the great many feuds of rivals. Unknown to many, there was a small time when peace was between House Bracken and House Blackwood. In that time both Houses aquired Valyrian Steel weapons. But it only took one foolish act and a misunderstanding for both weapons to kiss in battle and lay death to many who had once found peace and friendship.
Nothing too fancy. Just a basic design with enough detailing to give it more presence than a normal sword. Originally the blade was going to have a different shape where it was widen greatly at the guard but it just wasn’t working. For the sword enthusiast who criticizes every error in fantasy blades not looking practical and historical, this is probably of several that would be somewhat the only ones to please them.

Wrath, Valyrian Axe of House Lipps. Every House has a history, some notable members throughout time that have marked their place. But none are from House Lipps. A House forever loyal, standing since it’s founding, and prosperous enough to acquire a Valyrian Steel weapon that has seen it’s share of blood and battle. Wrath has taken the live of commonfolk, soldiers, nobles, even royalty. But Only the axe is what is remembered and not the one who wielded it. Some regard the weapon as the tongue of House Lipps since they are a House believing that action speaks louder than words.
This is a basic design for an axe that has some parts like the beard extenuated for effect and pizazz. Now if I were among the smiths of the Ice and Fire world, I think this would be regarded as on of the most puzzling pieces of work becasue of the engravings. The entire head is made of Valyrian Steel and all the cleaning and sharping gets done before the detailing. But if Valyrian Steel is the mightiest metal that cannot loses it’s edge or break then how does one engrave upon it?

Blackfyre, Lost Valyrian Steel Sword of Houses Targaryen and Blackfyre.
This is the first of 3 (soon to be 4) designs of Blackfyre I’ve done. Even though it’s the sword of a Valyrian House, I thought to keep it nice and simple made it look better than too many details. I did look to the artwork of Velvet Engine for the guard. The rest was rather intuitive and all seemed to just fall into place perfectly

Honor, Valyrian Sword of House Westerling. Once long ago, this sword was decorated with fine jewels when House Westerling thrived. But as the years went by and the Westerlings became poorer and poorer, they pried the gems out and sold them for what they could. Tywin Lannister even gave them an offer for the blade when attempting to replace Brightroar. However, the Westerlings would not for the sake of their pride.
One of the more simple designs that really has nothing worth of note except for the missing jewels. Probably the most Historical accurate looking sword since it doesn’t have any form of flair to it.

Weeping Heart, Valyrian Steel Sword of House Rykker. Rumor has it that House Ryker originally owned a warhammer that was one that could rival Robert Baratheon’s. But for reasons unknown, it was reworked into a sword.
This one, aye aye aye, this damn thing might have gone through more redesigns than any sword I ever did. Originally, I designed this to look somewhat like Heimdall's sword but then I got more into the practical design of swords instead of fantasy. There’s not a single part of this sword that wasn’t changed.

Avenger, Valyrian Sword of House Graves. Despite the name, the sword has never done any form of ‘avenging’. It is a hand and half sword that is considered very plain looking and if in its scabbard it could not be noticed as a weapon worth giving a second glance to. Such design was intentional after some Valyrian Weapons had been stolen by Ironborn,
This is closely based on Loras Tyrell’s sword seen at his side in Season 2. I went with something ‘plain’ because I felt that maybe more swords like Ice were not so elaborately designed. I felt I had to put the hawk heads on there to give it some form of motif to give it an identity at least. Ice has it’s enormously wide blade so there is no need for a wolf on it.

Bleeding Tear, Lost Valyrian Steel Spear of House Toyne. Borrel Toyne followed his King Argilac Durrandon to battle against the forces of Aegon Targaryen. Both King and Lord each carried legendary spears into battle but both disappeared when their bodies where recovered among the dead.
I didn’t draw many spears even though they would have maybe been a more common weapon held by lesser houses since they are FAR cheaper than swords. I did my best to varietize the types and this one is more of a cross between a fighting spear like Oberyn Martell’s and a boar spear. The winged heart was easy to incorporate into the design which was nice.

Cessation, Valyrian Sword of House Grimm. The sword is famously known for the gemstone nestled in the guard that reflects different colors on different days. The sword was a gift from the Gardeners to the Grimms for their constant duty as the protectors from Ironborn Invaders for centuries.
The design used to be a bit more... flamboyant but it just did not sit well in the end. I was starting to drift over to the realm of too much fantasy. Got to keep a balance when it comes to certain shapes. In the end, the shape is a common one.

Chaos Prince, Valyrian Sword of House Rogers. Back in the days of the Storm Kings, there was a great contest of champions held by House Durrandon. Arlan Durrandon fended off a fleet of slavers and found the Valyrian Steel blade among there treasures. Given that House Durrandon possed a Valyrian Weapon of their own, Arlan decided to use the blade as a prize to see who the mightiest warrior in all of the Stormlands was. A lone hedge knight lost his leg in the contest but took first place. His name was Roger, born on a farm but grew up a squire. He became the founder of House Rogers and despite his injury, served as a Master at Arms for King Arlan Durrandon.
Nothing rich or fancy, but strong and reliable as the men of the Stormlands must be to survive the harsh weather. I was thinking of doing more with the unicorn motifs, but I had already done a sword like that before and it honestly wasn’t that great so I kept to engravings and other details that you would find on other swords.

Crowning Day, Valyrian Sword of House Dark, formerly House Hollard. Originally the sword of House Hollard, this blade was a well-known treasure that was present for many battles and feats of great knights who carried the name Hollard. One of the richest decorated blades in all of Westeros. However, for siding with the Darklyns during the defiance of Duskendale, Crowning Day was confiscated as payment for their treachery and awarded to House Darke for their loyalty to the crown.
This is one of my designs that I didn’t look at any form of imagery or existing theme to draw. It was very intuitive but I, of course, made sure to add features on it that displayed great wealth, maybe as much as the Lannisters. I also think this is the first blade I drew double fullers in.

Dark Master, Valyrian Steel Sword of House Hoare. The last one known to have possession of this feared blade was Harren the Black. But when Aegon descended on Harrenhal with is dragons and the last of the Hoare’s melted with their castle, there was no trace of the blade. Some say that the Dragonfire melted the blade into nothing but this was a false suspicion given that the charred corpses of the Hoare’s remained. Others think that the blade was stolen by a thief working for Aegon and the blade was forged into the Iron Throne. Whatever the case, the sword has never been seen since.
One of the more sinister looking swords I’ve designed, this one has special sentiment to myself. I dug up some old drawings I did when I was around 8 years old. I modified the design so that it would be more realistic proportion wise. As far as the name, I can’t remember where or what, but I have this memory of some evil-sounding voice shouting those words like a battle cry.

Daybreak, Valyrian Steel Claymore of House Ashford. At a autumn tourney in the first years of Aegon I’s rule, the Lord of Ashfordheld a tourney in which he himself participated in. He chose to use his family’s ancestral sword rather than a fine castle forged blade which proved to be a foolish decision. He was unhorsed in the final joust and lost his armor, horse, and blade to his opponent. Daybreak went two decades out of the hands of House Ashford before it was won back through the same means of it original loss. Since then, no Ashford has risked its use in tourneys but battle and war only.
The shape I largely based off a claymore made by Sugoi Steel. Nothing too fancy for a sword owned by a wealthy family. It’s designed to look pretty but also simple enough that you’re not afraid to damage the craftsmanship. I also took inspiration for the design of the guard from Jaime Lannister’s Season 1 sword.
