My submission for the @destielvalentineszine2025 - a recipe for a wedding! Full text for both recipes below the cut if anyone is curious <3 Also please tell me what cookies you think other characters are bringing to the wedding!

Jack's Love Heart Thumbprint Cookies

Ingredients: - 100g butter - 175g caster sugar - 1 egg - 1 tsp vanilla - 200g plain flour - Pinch of salt

Method:

Cream together the butter and sugar, you will know it's ready when it's fluffy and lightened in colour. Add the egg and vanilla and mix again.

Mix in the flour and salt until fully combined, remember to scrape down the sides of the bowl! If your dough is too sticky to handle, you can add some more flour or knead the dough on a flat surface to bring it together.

Preheat the oven to 370F/180C while you roll small balls of dough and place on a lined baking sheet.

Gently press the balls down into discs (around 1-2cm thick). Using your thumb, press twice to create a heart in each cookie, then carefully fill each heart with jam.

Chill the cookies in the fridge for 10-20 minutes before baking them for 10-15 minutes (chilling them first helps them retain their shape!)

Bobby's Berry Jam

Ingredients: - 125g frozen berries (I prefer raspberries!) - 1tbsp lemon juice - 100g sugar

Method:

Place everything in a pot and bring to a boil while stirring constantly to prevent the sugar from burning.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until you reach your preferred jam texture, make sure you're still stirring!

You can test if your jam is ready by seeing if it coats the back of a spoon, or if it solidifies on a cold plate.

Allow to cool before use. Be careful, hot sugar can be dangerous!
