“Hey I’m doing… things.” Maybe he wasn’t really doing anything but he’d been doing things earlier. “I’m on my break, I deserve one you know.” Maybe he hadn’t been doing what Roger had told him to do when he left but Liam wasn’t as enthusiastic about business as his brother was. “I don’t think your brother believes in those, which is really unfair.” Their brother. Stretching his arms over his head he finally pushed himself up, “Fine bossy. I can do both, I’m good at the talking part.”
“I can tell.” she said, chuckling lightly at her little brother. “oh my gosh, remember that lady that tried to tell that one waitress on break to ‘never tell the customers she is on break’? oh god, c’mon. i don’t know where that lady is nowadays and i feel like she will randomly appear with the word ‘break’ in the air.” she mentioned, going to the doors to enter the counter area and beckon him towards the kitchen. “i dont know, he seems to believe in breaks late at night.” she said, chuckling at the thought of him going on a date. sure, he had the looks. but it was hard to find someone who understood the supernatural world they lived in, LESS understood how he would have one with his little attitude. this lady must be something. or just, delusional. “who’s in the kitchen today while you’re on break?” she asked, swinging the swing door slightly to see who it was.

palm grinds at closed lids heavy with lethargy —— a calamity of static, colours blooming. a saccharine voice and hand falls flat , a smile whispering at petals faint , soft. ❝ rhiannon , ❞ tongue running across lips to chase the lapsed taste of her name in his mouth. heart stuttering , ❝ perfect , it’ll go nicely with these. ❞ parallel fist rises to showcase the brown bag in hand blemished in dark splotches where grease spilled through. perhaps not the healthiest donuts in the world but he’d be damned sacrificing ingredients for taste. ❝ saw the cute yellow frosting through the window , reminded me of you. ❞ oculars wince , brows pulled tight. christ he wishes for a filter. ❝ not that you’re cute , i mean —— you are obviously ! but i just —— ❞ a rogue child tugging at his leg offers reprieve ; requests for his company and miss rhi’s too ! shelter a twisted tongue and bumbling colloquial. lip bitten as they follow the small body towards whatever unknown. ❝ umm thanks , by the way. for the coffee. ❞
it was quite odd, how rhiannon’s own presence seemed to change an environment. she never would know that, and that in itself made rhiannon something of a force to reckon with. rhiannon smiled brightly at the sound of her name from cain, making sure she gave him her best expression. after all, she liked playing around like that, ready for a photo at any moment. when he said the next phrase, rhiannon’s eyebrows furrowed as she put her cupholder down to see his hand raise with the brown bag of donuts. she almost lit up, since she just absolutely loved donuts out of most desserts. scratch that, she loved desserts period. especially with coffee.
“oh wow, that is great!” she exclaimed, eyes looking back up at him before finding herself letting the comment go by her head. cute yellow frosting is fantastic, and she thought that maybe they did match her personality a bit. though, he seemed to make more of a big deal out of it than she thought. she laughed at his awkwardness in that brief moment, being so light on the subject. “i get it. it’s okay.” she said, before she noticed the rogue child tugging at cain’s leg. her smile never disappeared once, and she followed in pursuit of cain as the boy tried to drag him by the leg of his pants.
rhiannon handded him the cup of coffee, and nodded. “it’s no problem. thanks for the donut.” she replied, as she grabbed her coffee and took a sip, putting the cupholder under her arm securely. she would have to dispose of it as quickly as possible before a kid thought to make it their playtoy for the day. “im so glad we have a room for the more wilder kids. its hard to tell them to keep their voices down as it is for the others.” she remarked as they went into the room and rhiannon quickly went to the trash to throw the cupholder away while the kid seemed to go in the direction of the box where the puppets and dolls were held.

@bloodsletting ( onyx ! )
rhiannon stared at herself as her body mirror just captivated the view of a woman dressed during a period she couldn’t quite recognize. had to keep the kiddos entertained, and she had volunteered herself to dress as a french queen. this was the head piece she was given, and she was trying to see how she would dress it up for the day. then, her locked door opened and she could hear her bestest of friends Onyx announce her arrival. she was by far the only person allowed to have her spare key to the apartment, since she didn’t see many people needing it. “Over here!” Rhiannon shouted back, seeing her door open as she turned towards her. “What do you think? Am I better as a blonde or a brunette? Should I wear a crown more often?” She asked, giving her a slightly playful pose as she mentioned to her crown and wig she placed on.

goodness gracious, save me sweet jesus. rhiannon was going to approach the man, wondering if he was okay. the moment he spoke, she was slightly concerned. not for him, but for herself. her outstretched hand instantly retreated and instinctively her foot took a step back. fight or flight was ready to hit at any second and she was a flight sort of lady. yet, as he turned, she could almost feel herself breath once more. her concern then went back to him once more as she looked at the cut. “i’m sorry this happened to you.” she said, going into her purse for a second and pulling out a tiny first aid kit. “i have some sanitizing wipes and cream. maybe clean it properly and then put a bandaid on it for now?” she said, and eyebrows furrowed as she looked at him once more to see if he was okay with that or not.
Standing in front of the building Luis looked at himself in the glass, “See this is why I don’t like people.” He hadn’t been anywhere near the fight that had broken out but in passing he was a casualty in the damage. If there hadn’t been as many humans around as there were he probably would have killed him. “It’s not really as bad as it looks it is?” He’d tried to clean up as much of the blood as he could but the cut was still kind of deep.

“Might as well, someone else isn’t doing it.” she remarked back in perhaps the snarkiest she ever could. honestly, her and liam were quite close, and so rhiannon being just slightly malicious wasn’t unexpected. it was the only time she could do so, since she had nearly no bad bones in her tiny body. she had come after work, hoping to catch up with liam. after all, so much had happened and she very much needed a good dose of liam-isms in her life at this point. she grabbed one of the fancy picks they put in sandwiches, looking at him. “i’m hungry, so i came over to make me a sandwich and talk to you. do you want to talk first, make the sandwich first, or do both at the same time? i like the both option. “
Liam was staring at the wall in the diner, it was slow and he was admittedly not helping the few people were here. Looking up when the bell went off he smiled at Rhiannon, “Have you come to save me from this? Trade the library job for the family business?” He held his arms out over the near empty building. @greystatue

@bloodsletting ( cain cx )
rhiannon needed a friend. there was far too much going on in her life, and she honestly needed someone to talk to. not even talk to, someone to keep her company. so she had arrived to her midday shift at the library, a cup holder with coffees in it. one for her, two for her fellow librarian and the maintenance man, and the other for her dear library friend cain. she had missed his presence, sure he might have been busy with other matters. she knew he came on this day, it was the day that the after-school program for a couple of elementary schools would come to the library to spend the time and she was almost positively sure he would arrive. and so she waited. barely a few minutes later, she saw her dear friend and she walked up to him, holding both cups of coffee. “i’m glad you came, the coffee was getting cold.” she stated, giving him a slight smile. very odd for her to approach him so abruptly, yes. however, maybe a change was much needed.

sundxrwhiispers:
To say that nerves wracked Isa’s body was an understatement. A lot of effort was put into today. Ever since she found that Greystone heirloom hidden and riddled with dust, it seemed like her life had been spiraling out of control. Whether or not that was a good thing, the newly turned wolf had yet to decide, but finally getting to sit down with her sister…her sister, was at least a positive.
A couple of google searches and a few hours of stalking had led Isa to an instagram page for a Rhiannon Greystone. As she fiddled with the sleeves of her blouse, Isa could remember that she’d felt the same way she did then as she did now. Anxious, nervous, nauseous. Back then she’d had a little more gumption ( clearly, since she’d sent a spontaneous dm after perusing her profile saying ‘hi, im your sister, i promise you this isn’t spam’ and the rest is history ) because there was a middle man to it. If something went bad, Isa could clearly exit out of an app or change her number. Face to face, well, it made her stomach swell with butterflies. She’d hoped ripping off one band-aid would prepare her for the others. Apparently, according to her sister, she had more siblings she’d have to meet. Eventually.
Being punctual wasn’t a new thing for Isa ( showing up before the diner even opened was though ) so she found herself rearranging the utensils and slowly stirring her overly-sugared coffee as a distraction. Eventually, though, a chipper voice had broken the trance she was in, and brown eyes lit up as she finally got a look at the girl she’d spent weeks exchanging messages with. There weren’t many similarities besides the obvious: brown hair, dark eyes, they both had laugh lines and Rhiannon’s bottom lip was slightly larger than her top one, like Isa’s. In that sense, they could seem related. But Rhiannon seemed more sharp in other aspects, in her cheekbones and nose, whereas Isa’s face had a more round look to it.
That was her mom in her.
The thought of her mother, she knew, would knock down her rather happy mood—- so she shoved it back, into a drawer under lock and key, where hopefully it would never see the light of day again. Not any time soon. When Rhiannon had made the comment about showing up early, Isa couldn’t help but let out a light chuckle. Maybe that was another thing they had in common. “Oh, no, I can’t eat,” the young girl admitted as she kept her hands fisted in her lap to stop from fidgeting. “Too nervous. My stomach wouldn’t be able to keep anything down.”
rhiannon had long thought that her family couldn’t possibly get any bigger. after the adoption of her cousins, the adoption of the family friend’s children, her own brother and herself appearing, surely that would have been enough children for one family. and yet, it seemed the surprises never stopped coming. frankly, the werewolf maiden was quite hesitant when receiving the message, simply because there wasn’t much evidence to back it up. yet, as they continued to exchange messages and she was able to sneak around her childhood home thanks to Roger’s little dates with that lady (whoever she was), she had come to the conclusion that this claim was truly valid and that the least they had to do was hear her out in person, see her and go from there.
this girl had a much longer face than her, roger, and liam. she was taller than even rhiannon herself, which was a change since it seemed the woman were short and the men were tall. however, this was all easily explainable. not only that, but those eyes. rhiannon almost instantly recognized those brown eyes. the eyes of her father, the man she loved and yet feared more than anything. the eyes she would stare down in defiance as she wanted nothing to do with the traditions of the greystone. she was far too soft for such matters, she couldn’t bare it. she almost didn’t, but yet she stood here, a maiden who grew a tail at a full moon against her will.
“Oh no?” she asked, tilted her head slightly as she explained. she could tell the girl was nervous, and honestly, so was rhiannon. this diner belonged to roger now, so he would appear any moment now to check up on her. what would she tell him? no, that wasn’t the concern. what would liam say if he worked today? quite frankly, she wasn’t sure when she was going to tell them, and lying wasn’t her greatest asset. everyone knew her though, and honestly, she had only but pure intentions. surely they would just think rhiannon was helping this poor girl, who seemed to share the similar browns of their family but so did thousands of people around the world. she smiled slightly and nodded, “alright then. how about a water? i have to eat something or else i’m going to ask in a favor from a friend.” she remarked, looking to the waitress and telling her to get the usual. “its my treat.”

she appreciates being woken as much as she appreciates sleeping on a bench. that’s to say, she doesn’t. a single eye cracks open and lilith hisses at her, not unlike a cat as she rolls over to the other side so she doesn’t have to face her. but she’s still speaking and lilith groans, hoisting herself up to sitting ungracefully, neck cracking as turns to look at her. and ow. maybe benches weren’t good nap places. “ yes , “ the red head answers warily . “ i was there , why do you want to know ? “
she understands she might have intruded on much needed sleep, especially if the girl ended up in this situation just now. and yet, rhiannon was far too caring, had too much of a heart to let someone she recognizes from the night before in such a situation. “why are you here? what happened?” she asked, concern quite obvious on her face. “actually, are you okay?” she asked. if her brothers were to see her now, they would probably think she was far too weird and she should have just left her some money or something. yet, she wished nothing but the best for the girl and she felt perhaps she could help her on her way to that.

The girl that walked in radiated light and beauty, even the dark and brooding witch could see that. He reminded him of his family or what his family wishes they could be. Pure. Something filled with light. It made him sick. Every time she came into the store, he felt uncomfortable. Like he was being faced with his own inability to be pure. A source of pride and shame.
His hand moved forward quickly to cover the titles of the books as she questioned him. While this was a bookstore with an occult theme, witches were not meant to be common knowledge and Aries protected that. While he sensed that she might not be human, he couldn’t be so sure yet. He gazed up at her as he pulled them closer, a small smile on his lips but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“Myths and legends.” He responded and then motioned to the books tucked under her arm. “What have you picked today?”
purity was a matter of your spirit, the will it desired and its purest intentions to do good. at least, that is what she could recall from her therapy sessions. after all, she was afraid she wasn’t at all that innocent when it came to her actions, and it rather made her upset. she needed something to convince her that her previous actions in life were anything but her own fault, despite her taking a man’s life. though, what can she say? what can she do when she tells nobody of the incident nor of her species?
Rhiannon found all bookstores quite fascinating, and she already knew the existance of witches thanks to the council. She always wanted to make sure a wide variety of books were available for people in her library, especially if they were exploring their new species like many she had seen. She smiled softly as he mentioned the theme of the books, though when he asked the question in return, it caught her in slight surprise. “Oh, just a couple of books on cults and secret societies. i found that the library was lacking in that area quite significantly.” she remarked, a slight shrug. “i seem to see you here every time i come over. do you visit it frequently or do we happen to just be here on the same days?”

rhiannon had been walking through the park, almost distant as she thought about the gala yesterday. though she would have loved to look on the optimistic sides of things, it was hard to do so. her hands were in her pocket, walking through the trials to reach the library when she spotted a woman on a bench. rhiannon had a tendency to just leave a little bit of money on them but could recognize her. she was just at the gala the night before. what was she doing here? sleeping? rhiannon squatted down, her heart strings being pulled immensely. she looked so young, too vulnerable to be in such a place where so many horrors could occur. she gently pushed the lady, her eyebrows knit together in slight concern. “im sorry for waking you but weren’t you at the gala yesterday? are you okay?” she asked, quite concerned for her already.

rhiannon was a regular at the bookstore to find those unique finds that she could bring to either her own personal collection or the collection of the library she worked. to say she had a personal archive of the books in both collections would be an underestimation. however, that didn’t seem to quite matter, since she always found something she needed in one way or another. so here she was, at her bi-weekly appearance at the bookstore. she had come in and talked to the person at the front desk first, catching up as usual before she was being shown the books that had come in or any she may have missed from the last time. she spotted the books the young man had at his table and stepped aside for a moment looking at them. “what are these about?” she asked, wondering what he was doing with such huges books. though, it was a lovely sight for her. these days everything was just on tablets and phones. to see people with actual books made the woman smile quite softly.
Aries spent too much time at the bookstore.
Even on his off days, he would come down to the store and plop himself down to read something about dark magic. Humans tended to be skeptical while in the shop so he rarely hid himself from view with the large tomes spread out on the table in front of him. Today he sat at the front of the store, two large, leatherbound books lying closed in front of him. He had settled in with a full cup of coffee a little over twenty minutes ago but he’d yet to finish the cup or even look at the books. He was much too interested in the person walking up to the bookstore to worry about magic, even if for just a fleeting second.

@sundxrwhiispers ( ISADORE ! )
she wasn’t sure if isa had gone to rhiannon first about being part of the family. quite frankly, everyone went to roger for this sort of stuff. he was the one who ended up knowing all the secrets this family held before their current generation. however, rhiannon was the one who would be the one to slowly merge whoever new into the pack and the family. the one who celebrated everyone’s arrival into their forever expanding family. so, she had agreed to go on a lunch date with her new sibling, just so she could get to know her. where she was from, what brought her here, etc. so rhiannon had arrived and sat down at the table isadore was at, putting her bag down. “i’m usually the one who gets to these things early. this is certainly a change.” she remarked, a slight chuckle on her lips as she eyed her. “well, good morning. did you order yet?” she asked, looking at the menu in front of her as she opened it.

rhiannon didn’t want to hear about the party from last night. the gala. she was rather upset about it, not only because it was the first year the gala was opened to the public and it just so happened to be the only year that the building went up in flames and floods, but because she lost a friend to it. she could recall hugging him, and talking to him. he seemed off as it was, but she never expected anything to happen to him so horrible. she just wanted to head to work, go in the back, and catalog and check up on statuses of books. when she overheard the conversation thea was having with someone else, she honestly thought she was joking. yet, her look told her otherwise. “not quite sure what i could add to the conversation.” she stated, not wanting to face any conflict in such a mood. “i simply think you should be a little more sensitive towards the matters of last night. if i remember correctly, there were two who died. you never know who you are talking to.” she remarked, looking at the girl before shrugging. “i could be wrong. take it with a grain of salt.”
“ Y’know, I was really thinking that party was going to be a bust, “ Thea was telling someone, once she heard they had also been at the same event. “ But the fire and earthquake and shit really LIVENED it up, don’t you think ? Though I did lose one of my heels during the night. Probably for the best though, I never learned how to walk in ‘em. “ Her body tenses a moment when she feels eyes on her, turning around to shoot a stranger eyes like DAGGERS. “ Excuse me, you got something to add ? “

rhiannon had been helping people find their place around the council headquarters, seeing as many people haven’t been in this place. she had turned around only to see the familiar face of a friend from her childhood. she couldn’t help the closed smile that formed on her lips as she listened to him, a chuckle suddenly leaving her lips. “surprisingly, i’m not at all surprised by your question.” she said, a smile forming as she grabbed his arm and faced him towards the bar. “right over there. you may find my brother over there. make sure he hasn’t had too much Grey Goose, please.” she said, wondering if he would recognize her. how long has it been since they have seen each other? she couldn’t quite remember. now that she thought about it, she was rather busy and hadn’t passed by the greystone estate in a little bit.
“I seem to have gotten lost. Can you point me in the way of the free beer?”
