i hate alistair being hardened and becoming king but i also love it because of the tragedy and pain of it all and losing everything again and again. the comparison to how he flourishes with the hof and you get to see that goofball versus how different you see him in inquisition. it’s called growing up but also just. the tragedy of alistair losing who he is / was also and becoming what ferelden needs but hating it and hating himself and never wanting this for himself.
