A childhood plushie came up on eBay 🦁

This is Sahara, the TY beanie buddy lion. When I had mine, I took her everywhere with me, until her mane was frizzy and falling out and her fur was worn away.

Buying her was a mistake because I can't warm to her the second time around- probably because she doesn't look as ragged as my old one. I will put her aside as a gift for anyone who might appreciate vintage plushies. ❤️

Is Annabelle still going by Annabeth?

She is. She prefers to be called Annabeth, to avoid any associations people might have with haunted dolls, etc. It would break her heart if anyone was scared of her!

"I'm not scary! I'm everyone's friend!"

I still love her original name and think it suits her, and it was given to her by an old friend for a special reason (he named her after an actress he liked a lot), so she tells me I'm still allowed to call her Annabelle, but only if I whisper it so nobody else can hear 🤫
