Politics vs. Social Media
Times have changed in terms of politics. Citizens used to rely on two different mediums when it came to getting their political information, newspapers and television. Now there is a new medium in town that dominates the political sphere, social media. According to the Pew Research Center about one third of adults in the United States tweet politically. While it can be seen as beneficial to access a new tool to inform people about political news, there are now more ways to see misinformation. The one thing that is lacking on social media is credibility. However, according to the University of Oxford, the majority of the population only relies on a single medium when it comes to getting their political news, and because of this, they are less informed and have less influence on others in their social group. Social media is amazing, and using it as a tool to keep yourself up to date with politics is a good idea. You can follow up with politicians who you may be interested in or you can follow a news group who creates stories that you find interesting, and all for free.

It seems as though our political leaders are becoming more concerned about their involvement on social media than their involvement in real time.
