I am NOT a monster.

X kept repeating this to himself, over and over, as he watched the cars go by. He was sitting in the back of a police car, with restrictor cuffs on his hands. The kind that make you dull. He watched as they pulled up to the big gray building that he knew to be Orin countys police headquarters. The windows were barred, and there were peacekeepers standing on either side of the doors. They wore standard issue lightweight kevlar armor, white in color, with visors on their helmets. Faceless. That's what the populous called them. They were trained to be merciless if the need arose. It often did in the world of which he lived. People, if you can call them that, spontaneously granted powers to anyone and everyone. So many dead when it first started. The car pulled to a stop, and X knew this was it. The officer who had been driving got out of the car, and started walking to the door where X was. But two of the Faceless met him. X's hearing wasn't perfect, but he knew they said something about orders, and that the officer was dismissed. He saluted and turned away. You dont argue with someone who has a license to kill. The Faceless took him into the building, but instead of going to the front desk, took him to a small elevator down a short hallway to the side. X didn't know anything about the way things were done, but he sensed this was somewhat abnormal, due to the sideways glances of some of the officers at the front desk. One of the Faceless called the elevator, and when it arrived, hit the 2nd basement level. When the door opened again, he was met by a tall, gangly woman who was clearly an authoritarian figure, as two guards flanked her on either side.

"Hello Xavier, its good to meet you." Said the woman. She smiled, showing sterling white teeth. X gulped. "Nice to meet you too...." he said cautiously. The woman chuckled, and stated, "no need to be afraid, no ones gonna hurt you." He raised his brow. 'Explains the energy cannons how?' He thought. The woman smiled her perfect smile again and said, "Well we have to have some insurance." She giggled at the end. X was stunned. 'How in the...' The woman cut him off. "Yes, my ability is to read minds. Yes the police do have powered people in the department. And you can call me Mrs. Agis." X was confused about this whole ordeal. The basement, Mrs. Agis, all of it. "Well Mrs. Agis, what exactly do you want?" He said, boldly considering the heavy weapons a few feet away. Mrs Agis smiled yet again, and said simply, "Your help."

Hello people, I will be starting a short episode based story on here. I kinda want to do it because I'm bored, wanting to hone my skills as a writer, and would like feedback from you lovely people. So starting every Friday night, roughly 11pm I will be posting the next episode. First one is going to be a super hero type story but hopefully I'll throw some neat twists. I hope you guys like it.
