جو یقین کی راہ پر چل پڑے، انہیں منزلوں نے پناہ دی⁦⁦
those who followed the path of faith, destinations gave them shelter
جنہیں وسوسوں نے ڈرا دیا، وہ قدم قدم پر بہک گئے۔
those who were frightened by whispers, have gone astray with every step.

When you're laying in your warm comfy bed in the winter or when you're driving your private air conditioned car in the summer, know deep in your heart that you're not better than those who spend their winters freezing in refugee camps or those who wait in the blazing summer for inhumane puplic transportation.
The only difference between you and them is that Allaah chose you and bestowed His favors on you. Know that you did not earn those favors. Know that it's not your degree that got you that fancy job. Nor is it your effort that made you graduate top of your class. For if Allaah didn't make it easy for your mind to absorb this knowledge, no offort would've made it easy.
I'm writing this as a reminder for myself first. because many of us, in the chaos of this dunya, tend to forget and take the favors of Allaah for granted, as if we earned them with our own efforts. We attribute those favors to ourselves and forget that Allaah said, "And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allaah". And said "And if you should count the favors of Allaah, you could not enumerate them".
I'm writing this because many of us think when they say 'Alhamdulillaah' a couple of times a day, that they did what they should to thank Allaah for His favors. Little do we know that we fail to even thank him for the glass of water we drink on a hot day.
The next time you say 'Alhamdulillaah' try to put some thought in it.
