Summer Event | Toru Oikawa x Reader
Warnings : Mention of alcohol (not for the students), a lot of nicknames
Part 1 (optional) Part 2 (optional)
The last day of school before summer break had let out. Mad dashes and people scrambling over one another echoed down every hall as everyone tried to be the first one out. I decided that I would not be suicidal today. The classroom is fine for another five minutes. It took someone’s squished up face ramming into the class’s door for me to take out my phone. I’m tuning all this out. Upon flashing my phone’s screen on, I took notice of all the messages decorating my notification wall. The Karasuno group chat, Oikawa, Lev, Bokuto, Kuroo, Iwa, Kenma… when did I give them my number? I decided to open up from bottom to top, starting with Kenma’s. It was simple, explaining that he got my number from Kuroo. I did not give Kuroo my number either. He then asked if I was going to the firework show. Ah, as if I had a choice. The volleyball clubs in a bunch of schools around had planned a summer break party, including fireworks, barbecue, and water-related activities. I texted back that I was going and I’d see him there. Now, time to interrogate Kuroo. Heading over to his message next, he said he got my number from Bokuto. Another guy I DIDN’T GIVE MY NUMBER TO. I sent him the affirmative that I was going to the event. Bokuto time. Same song and dance again, he got his information from Lev. How Lev got my number, beats the hell out of me. Send an affirmative and move to Lev. His came from Iwa, and we all know where Iwa got my number from. I’d deal with that boy later.
I stood from my desk, opening up the group chat and being greeted with an explosion of all-caps. Hinata, Tanaka, and Nishinoya were making outrageous plans for the cookout portion. Something about buying a bull. That’s not what I needed to read, though. I scrolled up to the best of my ability, skipping past the past 45 minutes of screaming, and finally reached the calm planning part. The team planned to meet up around five at night. Alright, that gives me a good… hour and a half! Plenty of ti- I have no yukatas… Alright a short shopping trip it is.
Yukata acquired! It was a black and red one with koi fish. Simple but still pretty. Okay, now it was time to go home. While walking home, I slipped out my phone. I unlocked it and caught up to the group chat. Daichi was chewing out the trio for suggesting using paint in the water balloons instead of water, and Oikawa had sent two messages. Gotta bite the bullet some time. I opened up Toru’s messages.
Milk Bread: I’ll be going to the firework show tonight ;)
When are you going? We should go together :o
Hellllooooo I know you’re seeing these! :<
Iwa-Chan said you responded to him! :’(
<;’D
What is wrong with this guy?
Me: I was just getting a yukata! Quit sending so many emojis!
Milk Bread: :P so we’re :l going together =-D right? >:>
Me: I regret giving you my number
Milk Bread: =3
Me: I’m meeting with the team at 5
Milk Bread: ^^
Me: Come on now Kawa use your big boy words
Milk Bread: <3
Me: yeah that works <3
Slipping my phone away with a playful grin, I entered a light jog back home, wanting to hurry just in case Toru pulled some of his magic and appeared at my doorstep in the next 10 minutes.
Using the next hour to my advantage, I donned my new yukata, brushed my messy hair aside and out of my face, clipped on fake paper earrings, and freshened up with varying vanity items. Checking the time, I saw it was just about the designated meeting time along with multiple texts that announced their arrival at the meeting spot. Grabbing my keys, phone, bag, and water, I was shooting out of the house.
“Woah, what’s the rush, Suteki-Chan?” Two giant hands clasped around my shoulders, bringing me to a harsh stop. Looking up at my entrapment, I was met with a sickly sweet smile, his hair curling upwards flawlessly. He may be beautiful and he may have just called me the cutest nickname ever, but I was not going to be late. I lifted my arms and grabbed his hands that were still resting on my shoulders.
“Come on, Toru.” I yanked forward, causing the boy, now behind me, to lose his balance and trip forward.
“I’m losing my sandal!”
“Tell it no!” I was not stopping. Not for anything. Unless Toru actually did lose his shoe. I can’t just let him be half-barefooted.
Not long after, and without sandal casualties, we made it to the team meetup spot. I, proudly, strolled over to the rest of my team, Toru still in tow.
“Y/N-Chan.” Toru pouted from behind me, “You could’ve given me a warning. Is my hair messed up?” I released the boy’s hands and turned around to give him an evaluation.
“Hmmmm… nope!” To further convince the upset setter, I gave the most comforting grin I could.
“You better be telling the truth…” Toru continued to pout, but reached his left hand to grab onto my right one.
“Y/N IS HERE!” Well, not anymore. The speed that Toru pulled his arm away had me concerned he’d pull a muscle. Mere seconds passed before Hinata was all over the scene.
“What’s Oikawa doing here again?!” Cue Toru’s fake smile.
“Believe it or not, Y/N’s my friend. Makes sense I’d want to go see fireworks with my friend, right?” Hinata nodded.
“Yeah! That makes sense.”
“Now that introductions are over, let’s get moving, yeah?” Coach Ukai suggested, clearly not wanting to be chaperone that night.
“Yes sir!” Taka and Noya bellowed, saluting. A tick of silence floated by before Hinata saluted along with the other two. Ukai responded with a drawn-out sigh and a pinch to his nose bridge. He began walking with a concerned Takeda following, causing everyone else to duckling behind.
“What’s his problem?” Toru leaned down to whisper at me after we were safely tucked in the back of the group. I turned my head to whisper back.
“I think he’s hungover.”
“Hungover?”
“They asked him to chaperone at the last minute. He ranted about it in his office.”
“How-How did you hear?” I sighed.
“I was just trying to ask him for the storage key.” Toru’s gaze held great concern. “Don’t worry, he’s just going to be snappy. Me and Noya call him turtle.” Oikawa said nothing in return, instead opting to rest his fingers right below my elbow.
“Your team is weird.” A playful tone, a teasing smirk, and the soft tickle cascading down my arm let me know that he meant that in the best way. No reason to let him off the hook, though.
“Ah, rude. So I’m weird too?” A chuckle surrendered out of the boy’s chest, the tickle down my arm worming its way into my hand’s grasp.
“You’re the weirdest one.” I used the hand he wasn’t holding to flick his chest.
“That why you get along with me so well?”
“Hah… Shut up.” Toru gave my hand a squeeze, not too hard to be harsh, but definitely not lovingly soft either. I was glad Toru was going to the occasion, of course the rest of Aoba Johsai was going, but Toru was going with me! I was looking forward to spending quality time with him, we hadn’t had much of that since he snuck into training camp that one time. We also hadn’t really gotten much of a chance to talk about our future, or about us. The talk was for sure coming, but golly gee I’m nervous.
“Tanaka, what are you wearing?!” I was pulled out of my thoughts by the familiar sound of Nishi.
“Ugh, okay my sister took my sandals for some stupid project or something and my mom is steam cleaning my sports shoes! These were all I had!” Said man lifted his arms, showing off sneakers that were more like ankle boots, and they… also look like… a cast? I slapped a hand over my mouth to stop from erupting into a fit of giggles.
“Why not just wear your normal, everyday shoes?!” Suga wailed.
“What do you think these are?!” Baldie gestured wildly at his shoes.
“Oh brother.” Tsukishima huffed out.
15 minutes of walking and lightly making fun of Tanaka’s shoes led us to the large park where numerous others were already setting up. The grills were firing up to start grilling the greasiest meats possible, four buckets of water balloons were filled with more coming, two sprinkler sections were set, and a huge box of explosives were being hauled into a safe corner. I sure hope it’s safe anyway. We don’t need a bunch of volleyball players getting into those. Suddenly, I had a terrible, horrible, awful thought.
“Toru, did you bring blankets?” Panic evident in my voice over the imminent threat of grassy scratchy torture.
“I brought a blanket.” Heh… hehehe… schmoozing time. I donned a dreamy smile and fluttered my eyelashes up at the captain.
“Toru~” Toru~ picked up what I was trying to say quickly.
“Aww, forget your blanket, Y/N-Chan?” Before I could nod, Oikawa cupped my chin in his hand, squishing my cheeks upwards. “Say please~” This little shit.
“Pweash?” Seemingly pleased with this answer, he let go of my chin.
“I was gonna let you sit with me anyway~” My face darkened, and I lunged at this teasing moron. Of course, just like how he caught up with me in the parking lot all those months ago, he easily outran me with his stick legs.
“I’ll get you when you least expect it, Oikawa!” I yelled after the still-retreating boy.
“What did he do this time?” Another voice startled me, causing me to jump and turn around. “Sorry.” It was just Iwa.
“Oh, you’re fine. He was-”
“-being a sweet and perfect angel, of course!” Speak of the devil. Toru sidled up beside me and laid his elbow on my shoulder, grinning innocently at Iwa. Iwa just glanced dubiously at me, and in return, I gave him a small head shake.
“He’s all yours, Y/N.” Iwa left no room for rebuttals in his walk away. I wasn’t sure to feel happy or devastated at being left alone with Oikawa.
“Now that we’re all alone, Y/N-Chan, let’s go throw balloons at people.” Ah, yes, happy.
“Okay!” Toru steered me over to the designated warzone, topped off with overturned tables and bucket stations. “I do hope you’re not planning on turning on me during the war.” I warned him; I could see right through him.
“Neverrrrrr.”
“Toru.” I warned once more.
“Come onnnnn you know me!”
“Toru.” Said man stood still for a moment, drinking in my cautioning face. That didn’t stop him, though. He pirouetted, lurched forward, and, before I could stop him, grabbed a balloon and lobbed it at me. I dove for cover, but I was hit.
It grazed my hip. I’m done for. I hit the ground and turned over on my back. Raising a hand in the air, I beckoned Toru over. He edged over, afraid of a sneak attack.
“Y/N?”
“T-Toru? Is that you? Oh, thank the heavens. Come closer.” I let my arm flop to the ground beside me. Toru listened and scooted closer, albeit slowly. “Listen, I’m not gonna last much longer. *cough cough* It’s getting cold, hard to breathe. I’m glad to spend my final moments with you. *gasp* Please, tell my family I love them.” I grappled onto Toru’s hand, pulling him just a little closer so he could hear me take my final gasp for breath before I “died.”
“...Y-Y/N-Chan?” Toru scrambled forward, placing his ear right above my chest before gasping dramatically and falling back. He grabbed fistfuls of grass and yanked upward, taking the grass with him as he bellowed out a “NOOOOOOOO.”
“Hey everyone, the food is ready!” A random dude shouted out. I shot into a standing position.
“Time’s-a wastin’ Kawa.” I darted toward the food table along with other much taller and beefier teenage boys. I’ve already reached the point of no return, no turning back now.
“Woah! No rush, Y/N!” Toru’s arms wrapped around my waist to hold me back, allowing the rush of men to dogpile the steaks. I was singing my praises to Toru’s stick legs this time.
“Oh- thank you, Ruru. I was too blinded by the hunger.”
“Eh- Ruru?!”
“Mhm! It’s cute.” I wiggled out of his grasp and casually approached the swarm of vultures. It’s fight or die.
Alright, so it was not fight or die. Everyone was very pleasant. Imagine a mosh pit, except instead of a band, there’s just a burger on stage. It was exactly like that. Now I was happily eating a hotdog next to Toru, who was eating everything.
“Do you wanna go back to the water after we eat, N/N (nickname)?” Oh, and Toru is now calling me N/N.
“Hmm, how much longer until the firework show?” Toru chuckled at that question, resting his head on his hand.
“How am I supposed to know?”
“Okay, fair. Can we play in the sprinklers?”
“Mhm, anything you want, Y/N-Chan~”
I had planned to splash around for about half an hour. Surprise surprise when Toru and I wrapped towels around ourselves an hour and a half later. Neither of us had brought a change of clothes, so there we were, hair and clothes soaked and sore throats from laughing. I expected to have fun with Oikawa today, but what I wasn’t expecting was to fall even harder for him. A surprise, sure, but a welcome one. There was an announcement for the firework show; it was starting in ten minutes. That announcement was what made us finally dry off.
“Hey, Y/N! Haven’t seen you around all day.” A voice came from behind me. I peered over my shoulder to see Suga smiling softly. “The team agreed to sit near each other. We’d love for you to join.” The thought of sitting with them warmed my heart, but the thought of getting to talk with Oikawa filled me with the fuzziest feeling. The choice was clear.
“Well, I’d love to Suga, but I was planning on sitting with Oikawa.”
“Speaking of. I’m going to set up a spot for us, Y/N-Chan.” Oikawa flashed a cocky smirk as he walked off with our blanket. Once the captain was out of ear-shot, Suga placed a soft hand on my shoulder, coupled with a knowing smile.
“Y/N, you know I trust your judgement, but be careful with him, alright? Just in case the rumors turn out to be true.”
“Rumors?” I turned to fully face the setter, and said boy let his hand fall off my shoulder.
“That he’s a ladies’ man. I don’t know if he… uh, swings that way.” My mind blanked. Oh god… Oh Suga… I shyly smiled back at the boy in front of me.
“I’ll be careful, promise. And I’ll be alright if he doesn’t swing that way.”
“Good luck.” Suga waved and was on his way. Oh, he was so sweet. I went on my way as well, seeking out the still-drying swoops of hair. He was sitting all the way in the back, like, all the way. I began my hike, trekking through the spiky summer grass, past all the dudes chatting with their pals. The good news, I made it in one piece. The bad news, there was barely any time to talk with Oikawa about everything. Well, no shame in trying. I sat gingerly beside the brunette boy, enjoying the closeness of sharing a blanket.
“Toru? Can we talk?”
“Hm? Oh, yeah of course. What is it?”
“Well, there’s two things actually.”
“I still want to hear it.” Toru lightly joked, nerves shining through his tone.
“At training camp, the kiss.” Toru lightly hummed.
“What about it?”
“Can we do it again? Wait- hang on that’s-” Beside me, Toru burst into a fit of laughter.
“You liked it, yeah?”
“Well, uh, I like you and, like, yeah, I did.”
“You like me?” Toru sent a sly smirk my way, eyes shining with adoration. Looking into those eyes got my mouth all dry.
“I- Didn’t I just say that? Wait, that came out wrong-”
“So, what you’re telling me is… you wanna date? Officially?” I frantically nodded at my blanket buddy, thankful he said it so I didn’t have to.
“Oh- we still have to keep it a secret.” I quietly reminded.
“I can work with that. I still get to have you.” Toru’s words went straight from my ears to my cheeks.
“So, about my question earlier?” A surprised chuckle escaped Toru’s lips.
“I think we can arrange that.” And with those six words, Toru cupped my cheek and leaned sideways to close the gap between us. This, our second kiss, was much sweeter than our first. It showed both of our feelings, our vulnerabilities that we only ever showed when together. This felt right, it felt blissful. Faintly, I heard a sharp whistle. It disappeared before exploding into a cacophony of color. Slowly, we pulled apart, gazing into each other’s eyes.
“Toru, I adore you…”
“I see the cat returned your tongue.” I gently laughed.
“It was a tough battle, but I emerged victorious.” Matching my loving smile, Toru leaned in again, placing a gentle smooch upon my nose and then between my brows.
“What was the other thing you wanted to talk about? If it’s as good as this one, I need to hear it.” I chuckled.
“It’s a little heavier. Our future. After we graduate. That sort of thing.”
“Ah, well I’d hate to ruin this very new relationship.”
“Come on, try me. I can handle anything.”
“I’ll just come out and say it, then… I want to rob yachts.” Caught completely off-guard, I snort-laughed. Embarrassment commencing. Instead of teasing laughter, like I was expecting, I heard the sparkling sound of a quiet and genuine laugh from Toru Oikawa himself. “Sorry, sorry. I still want to play volleyball. I can’t imagine a life without it, y’know.” Coming down from his laughing, he turned his serious eyes over at me. “That could mean traveling… the world, maybe.” My eyes widened the slightest bit at the reality that Toru could leave. He could go to Sweden or to Zimbabwe. While pondering the possibilities over, I realized one major thing: the overwhelming feeling of happiness that he’d be chasing his dreams. That was the moment I had decided. I placed a comforting hand over his much larger one.
“I hope you enjoy video calls, then. At least until I graduate too.” It was Toru’s turn to widen his eyes, the look in them, swimming with emotions. He was completely vulnerable, allowing himself to open up to me. He was truly terrified while waiting for my answer. This moment, I’m burning this one into my brain. The moment I decided Toru Oikawa was the one for me. Fireworks went off left and right in the background, they sounded dim in this moment, as Toru hurriedly leaned in and placed another kiss to my lips, conveying every single emotion he was feeling into the kiss. Settling into it, I raked one of my hands through his slightly-damp hair, massaging his head. Once he pulled back, he tugged me into his chest quickly, I assume to hide me from seeing something. Oh… he was crying, wasn’t he? I smiled into his chest and wrapped my arms around his midsection, looking to the sky to watch the rest of the fireworks.

Oikawa x Reader | Training Camp
Warnings: fem!reader, light cursing, Karasuno nonsense, Tanaka
Part 1 (optional) Part 3 (optional)
Training camp. Our team had been invited to the one in Tokyo while we were practicing, and everyone seemed super hyped. Honestly, I was too. This would be my first time in a huge city, first time in a capital too. If it was going to be anything like the last one, I’d have to sleep in the same room as the rest of the team. All well and fine, I’ll just have to be sure not to kick Asahi in the head again… or anyone else for that matter.
After practice, the team gathered around and listened to Takeda inform all of us that we’d have to pass our exams in order to participate in the training camp. Well, I’ve got that in the bag. No problem. I’m gonna get that Tokyo camping experience for sure! Oh, Hinata looks like he’s about to cry. Eh, Kageyama actually started crying. And I’m sure they’ll be fine. I’m going to get a slushy to celebrate.
A couple days passed and here I was! On the bus! On our way to Tokyo! Nerves hate me. It was all I could do to just stare at the blurry scenery out the window.
“Hey Y/N! How you feelin’? ‘Cause it looks like you’re about to puke.” Nishinoya draped his arms over the back of the seat in front of me, turned around to smile lopsidedly at my anxious expression.
“Oh god, please not on me! I wore my good pants this time!” Tanaka screeched from beside the libero.
“I’m not going to puke!” I pushed Noya’s face back to where he came from. “Not until I’m sure you won’t be able to run, anyway.”
“Ah! Tanaka! Hide our spare pants!” Noya panicked.
“Three steps ahead of you, man!” Tanaka revealed their suitcases safely tucked in a non-puke zone. Noya sighed out in relief. Guess the men really love their slacks.
“Stop yelling back there! I have to deal with you guys at the training camp, I do NOT want to listen to you freaking out about pants this soon!” Coach Ukai lovingly scolded us. We all yelled back an affirmative to further annoy Coach, because you know, we like running five extra laps every practice. Ukai just groaned and told us to shut up again. Shut up we did! We all went to our own devices the rest of the bus ride.
We all filed out of the parked bus, relishing in that unfresh city air. Pretty immediately, I saw people from other teams. Speaking of other teams, one of Nekoma’s called out to us.
“Missing some people, aren’t you?” I’m guessing he was talking about Hinata and Kageyama.
“Hah, yeah about that. They’ll be here later! Schoolwork and all.” Sugawara informed. Kuroo flashed a thumbs-up along with a teasing smirk.
“I gotcha.” And with that, we hustled into the practicing gym. There were four other teams already slapping down the ball. I recognized Nekoma pretty instantly. Kuroo and Mr. Pudding were laser-focused. The other teams I had to look at their scoreboards for. Shinzen, Fukurodani, and Ubugawa. Everyone was super tall too. Well, this must be the day. The day that I have my head taken off by a volleyball. I’m so ready.
Practice was still going strong even a few hours later. I decided to break off from my team to get some water. Hobbled over my water bottle and watching the others, I clicked on my phone to check any missed notifications. The top notification showed a message from Toru Oikawa himself. We had become a lot closer these past few months. Ever since he had first taunted me before our first match against each other.
“What’s up?” It was a simple text that Oikawa had sent me many, many times. It sounds weird, but these texts always lead to better conversations than when he’d send a regular “hey.” While I was debating on how to answer him, smiling absentmindedly, a shout from across the court carried over to me.
“HHEEEEEEYYYYYYY Y/N! YOU COMING BACK IN OR ARE YOU JUST GONNA KEEP TEXTING YOUR BOO-THANG?” Tanaka began making kissing faces. Man did not even know that I was talking to Toru, he was just trying to embarrass the fire out of me I guess… and it was working. I swiftly pulled up the camera on my phone, zoomed all the way in, and snapped a picture of Tanaka still going ham with the kissing faces. Aaaaaaand sending that to Toru.
“Practicing in Tokyo, can’t talk.” As soon as it was sent, I sprang up and ran over to my team, the other teams whooping and hollering about my so-called boo-thang. So naturally, I smacked Tanaka on the back of his shaved head and told him to stop sucking face with the air.
“Who were you getting all smiley about over there?” Sugawara innocently asked. I knew better. He had that devilish gleam in his eyes.
“I was looking at pictures of volleyballs.” I flashed a blinding grin at the setter and got into position so we could start playing again. I was not about to let them know I sent Oikawa a picture of Tanaka’s dopey kissy face. And so practice picked back up again. My break helped get my head back in the game.
A good four hours later, practice let up and it was time to wash my sweaty head off. I packed up my things and shuffled to the dressing rooms. By the time I got there, the room was filled with steam, probably from the showers running, so I decided to take my sweet time packing my things into my locker. The hot water hogs were gonna take it all so I waited for them to finish. I have to have a hot shower. You ever try to wash sweat off in cold water? Yeah, I’d rather sleep with a jaguar. Luckily, most of the boys were quick about it. Tanaka was first out because he had no hair to wash; after he was out, the rest of the boys swept out shortly after.
“You still haven’t gone in, Y/N?” Asahi asked me. I shook my head before looking back at the giant.
“I was waiting for you guys to come out.”
“How come?”
“You guys eat the hot water up. Plus four other teams are showering at the same time. I don’t wanna deep-freeze myself.” Asahi looked a tad embarrassed at this.
“Hah, I didn’t think about that. We got out when the water started to go cold. Sorry about that.” I waved him off.
“Don’t worry about it. I can wait, don’t worry.”
“Ok…don’t wait too long, please. I’ll feel terrible if you’re waiting for an hour.” I smiled at the gentle man.
“I’ll come straight to you afterwards. Wouldn’t want you having a crisis.” Asahi sighed and moved to get dressed so he could leave. I looked back to my phone to give him privacy.
A good 20 minutes went by before I finally got to bathe, and good lord it felt great. Sweat no more, I got changed into my pajamas and spared a glance at my phone. A text from Oikawa, 6 minutes ago, an attachment text. I opened it up while walking towards Karasuno’s room to let Asahi know I survived the shower, but when I saw the picture that Oikawa sent, I changed directions pretty much immediately. The picture showed Toru’s grinning face, a cocky glint in his eyes as he stood in front of the very building I was in. I reached the front doors in an instant and pushed them open. I looked around before confirming the picture. Toru was leaning against the wall next to the doors.
“Took you long enough. I thought I was going to have to break in.” Oikawa swooshed over to me as if there was nothing wrong with this picture.
“H-Hold on. Why…are you here?”
“You weren’t able to text me. I got bored!” Toru jutted his bottom lip out in the biggest fake pout he’s ever mustered.
“Bored!? So you drove almost four hours just to hang out with someone?!”
“No, don’t be ridiculous. I took the train.” Toru sidestepped me and moved past me, seemingly to waltz into the building.
“Wai- Toru! You can’t just walk in there!”
“Why not?”
“Why no-? Because everyone is gonna ask why you’re here!”
“Ahhhh I see.” Oikawa let go of the handles of the building. “You still haven’t told them you’re a girl, hm?”
“Well, no, but that’s not why you can’t just go in there!”
“Afraid of letting them know you collude with the enemy?” Toru really seemed to be enjoying himself as I stuttered over my words, trying to figure out why he’s downplaying traveling halfway across the country just to hang out with me. I give up.
“Oh just go in already.”
“Gladly.” Toru smirked at his small victory. “Come on Y/N-Chan~” Toru grabbed my hand to drag me in behind him.
While Toru dragged me along the big room, I realized he had no idea where to go. Speaking of, how the hell did he find where I was?
“Uh, Toru. Where are we going?”
“Shh you’ll ruin the surprise!”
“You have no idea, do you?” Mr. Great King just smiled over his shoulder at me, eyes closed. He’s going to shove us into a storage closet. His pride would not let him fix a mistake like that. “Then can you please tell me how you found me here?”
“Of course!” Toru opened up a door, confidently looking inside. “I hope you like mops.” He tugged me inside, flipping on the light before closing us inside.
“Toru wha-!”
“I brought you a sandwich~” Toru silenced me with a delicious-looking sandwich. Like, that thing looked like heaven after a long practice.
“Okay, like, you’re amazing, but how the hell did you find me?” We both sunk into the ground to eat.
“Would you believe me if I said it was a fluke?”
“Hell no.”
“Right.” Oikawa put a lot of thought into his next words, even putting his hand to his chin, pretending to stroke the beard he did not have. “Yeah, I asked around.”
“Oooh so pretty boy setter is a stalker!”
“S-Stalker?!” To express his surprise, he took a bite out of his sandwich. “Would a stalker buy you a sandwich?” I opened my mouth, ready to reply “Yes, they would,” but seeing those puppy dog eyes across from me, I couldn’t resist.
“...Nah, you’re right. I’ve never met a stalker that bought a sandwich. Ever.” Toru perked up at that, puppy eyes gone and replaced with overwhelming pride.
“By the way, where is everyone else? I know volleyball players. There’s no way they all retired.” Toru gently pondered.
“They all moved to different gyms in smaller groups.”
“Are you going to keep training?” I picked up on his tone instantly. It was practically urging me to keep practicing.
“Hmm, I dunno. Now that you’re here-”
“Practice with me!” Toru smiled excitedly, leaning forward on his knees. He had finished his sandwich, so he was even more ready to play. A thought just hit me though.
“.....Why are we in a broom closet?”
“We can leave the closet.” I moved to stand up. “Only if we can practice, though~” To prove his point, he grabbed my wrist and tugged me back down, trapping me in place with his legs.
“This is clear manipulation! I will not stand for this!” I attempted to break from his hold… only to have Oikawa drape his arms over my shoulders to further trap me in. “...You know maybe this closet isn’t so bad.” A dramatic gasp sounded from behind me. A weight on my right shoulder followed soon after. I peered at the pouting boy with humor in my eyes. Might as well make sure I’m not the only one being teased. Two can play that game Toru~ However, I failed to account for Toru being used to charming people. He decided to really milk his abilities. He nuzzled his nose into my jaw, and to say I almost died is an understatement. Nothing gets between this man and volleyball.
“So about that practice session?” I wasn’t looking at him, but I could feel his smirk, his teasing and confident air radiating off him in waves.
“Yeah, alright. Let’s go practice- wait, I just showered.” Oikawa sprang to a standing position, taking me with him.
“Then take another one!” My mind went right back to Asahi. Poor guy was probably rethinking his entire shower process. Toru was pushing the closet door open and ushering me out. I grabbed the sandwich wrappers and went to throw them out while Toru practically threw himself on a rack of volleyballs. “Heads up!” I heard a resounding smack. He really just tried to surprise attack me huh? I turned around as quickly as I could and just barely managed to parry the ball back to the smiley dork.
“I could’ve died, you know.”
“I’ve seen you play, sweetheart. You were fine! Plus, I wouldn’t have let you get hit.” Toru sent a wink over with that.
“My hero.” I rolled my eyes in good humor before jogging over to do even more practice. My muscles are gonna be cursing me out in five different languages tomorrow.
Another practice went by. It was really late by this point and Oikawa really seemed to get comfortable with teasing me the entire time we practiced. While I was downing water by the wall, waiting for Oikawa to finish putting the equipment away, I checked the time and felt myself pale. The clock read 1:21 in the morning.
“What are you so scared of?” Toru sidled up beside me, leaning over to look at my phone.
“You, uh, missed the train.”
“Oooh you have to harbor a fugitive for the night now.” Toru didn’t seem the least bit worried as he poked my cheek. I lifted my arm to grab his poker.
“Where are you going to sleep?” Toru stared at me for a minute, gears turning.
“...I’ll sleep in the broom closet if you do.”
“...Get a hotel room, Toru.” Said man let out a dramatic sigh.
“You’re no fun, Y/N-Chan.” The familiar feeling of an arm on top of my head weighed me down.
“Sleeping in a closet is fun for you, Kawa?” I saccharined to make Toru feel stupid.
“The most fun I’ve ever had.” Too bad feeling stupid isn’t in the Toru dictionary.
“Great! Then ask the hotel staff to book you a linen closet.” I beamed at Toru’s slightly annoyed expression. I began walking back toward the showers yet again. “You should shower too, Toru! You’re really sweaty!” I called back over my shoulder.
Second shower of the day! My skin is gonna be super dry and I’m going to blame it all on Toru. I walked out, dressed in my spare pair of pajamas since I forgot to change out of them. Oh no- What is Toru gonna change into? My question was answered as soon as I came back into the main gym area. There stood Toru Oikawa in his jersey.
“You brought your jersey?” I saw Toru jump slightly before playing it off by turning around all suave-like.
“I never leave the house without it.” Well that was a lie. He took me out for ice cream once, spilled an entire cone on himself, and there was not a jersey in sight.
“Right, right. Why didn’t you change into it, then?”
“I, uh…got excited. Forgot I had it.” The look of pure embarrassment on his face gave me life. I opened my mouth to respond, but all that came out was a sharp giggle.
“Y/N-Chan, stooooop.” Oikawa had closed the distance between us and wrapped his arms around my laughing form. He’s done this once before, but it was enough for me to learn that by “stop,” he meant “laugh more.” I tried to pull out of his grasp, but his grip was tighter than a steel deadbolt. With his fingers locked in place and his chin digging into my head, he began his assault. Giggles turned into squeals and Toru’s fake pouts melted into sadistic chuckles. This bastard. He only stopped moving his fingers like I was piano once I was laying on the ground. “Look at you Y/N-Chan. Tsk tsk. Surely a closet is better than the dirty floor.”
Oh this little- While still on the floor, I reached out and grappled onto Toru’s legs, tugging them towards myself. Toru’s cocky look disappeared and was replaced with panic as he waved his arms around so as to not fall and break his neck. He figured it out since he fell right next to me without so much as a bruise. “What if you had to call an ambulance?” Oikawa’s exasperated face made me laugh all over again. “Y/N-Chan!” I sat up and turned to face the pouting setter, the pout was semi-real this time.
“You still can’t sleep here. Don’t you think the guys will be curious as to why I found a stray Oikawa?” Toru gave that a hard thought.
“No.”
“Alright, well, give me the actual answer now.”
“Why tell them anything? Let them wonder!” I kept staring at Toru. He’s insane. It’s official. “Don’t look at me like that!”
“You really think they’ll just let you walk in randomly and sleep on their futons?”
“Mmmhm!” Toru nodded to further his point. A silence settled upon us as I stared at the boy, his innocent, smiling face staring back.
“Toru?”
“Hm?”
“You really want to sleep in the same room that bad?”
“Mhm!”
“Alriiiight. Let’s go and confuse my team.” Oikawa jumped up in half a second, dragging me along behind him for the second time that night. I gave him the directions to our team’s room and before long, we landed outside the door. We stood just outside. “Hey Toru.” I quietly got his attention. He turned his head to me. “Uh, I’m glad you came here. I actually had fun.” The smile that graced his lips was a heart-melting one, filled with happiness.
“I’m glad I rode on a cramped tube for four hours to get here too.”
“Way to make me feel ba-” I was cut off with a gentle pressure on my lips. Was- Oh- OH- My thoughts gathered quickly and I returned the short kiss. Alright, that’s gonna make it a little harder for me to explain properly.
Bonus: Toru slid the door to the team’s room open, leaving all of us in surprise. My face was still burning, the rest of the team were all very asleep. Well, not so much anymore.
“AH WHO IS IT?!” I heard a loud scream. Hinata sounded like.
“WHO DO I NEED TO BASEBALL BAT?” I faintly saw Tanaka jump to the middle of the room, baseball bat in hand.
“PUT THE BAT AWAY NISHINOYA!”
“Wha- ME?!”
“Oh, sorry about that. I just had a dream that you tried to smash my mailbox.” Sounded like Suga…what kind of dreams does he have of us-
“That just gives me more questions!” Noya shouted back. Glad he said so. The light in the room suddenly turned on, leading to more screams or groans of being blinded.
“Y/N, why are you coming in here with Oikawa at 2 AM?” Daichi asked calmly.
“I, uh, well, you see- He, uh- I found him wandering the streets.” The team continued to stare. Totally inconspicuous.
“That’s fair.” Kageyama muttered before rolling over to go back to sleep.
“I wander the streets too.” Tsuki added.
“You do?” Yamaguchi asked.
“No.” With that, the blonde turned over to go back to sleep. Daichi sighed.
“Alright he can stay here tonight, I guess. Just make sure he leaves tomorrow.”
“Oh, he will. Right, Oikawa?” Said boy nodded.
“You won’t even know I was here.”
“Too late for that.”

Oikawa x Reader | Shopping Trip
Warnings: some cursing, fem!reader
Part 2 (optional) Part 3 (optional)
Our team had just suffered a devastating loss. It was a really long match against Aoba Johsai. The point gap in the beginning really had me worried, and then we pulled up our score to match and I was excited again, but then Seijoh won anyway. It was a rollercoaster that I did not need, thank you. Regardless, I was exhausted and I really didn't want to go back into the changing room. I could only imagine the heavy atmosphere.
"Well, well, if it isn't the loser running out and about." Oh, that familiar voice. It was the same voice that taunted me before we had our match. I was so eager to get back in his face with the same kind of smack talk. This was not the outcome I was expecting. "Why aren't you sulking with the rest of your loser team?" The look of pure cockiness and pride swarming around on his face made me want to punch him... it was kinda nice to look at though. Ugh, not the time, Y/N.
"Just let me shower." I tried to move past the cocky shit.
"Oh? Not up to talk anymore after losing? Can't put your money where your mouth is, I guess." I stopped and twirled around. You could just tell he was ready for me to get snappy. He was ready to retort. I jabbed a finger into his chest with a harsh look adorned on my face.
"We're doing this after we're both not sweaty." Oikawa's mouth propped open, ready to clap back, only for his eyes to shift to confusion.
"Wha-" I backed into the spare showers. Ready to rinse myself off, I hopped in that hot watery haven. It was a few minutes before the door to the room opened and multiple voices echoed around the room. I looked back to see the entire Aoba Johsai team casually strolling in. Yup, time to take the quickest shower known to mankind. Should've just showered with the heavy atmosphere...
As soon as I finished my shower, I picked up my towel that I had luckily draped nearby and dried off, changing into my casual clothes. And when I say I hustled out of there, I mean it. I made sure to look in the opposite direction while walking out of that room. I bet Oikawa told his team to use that specific shower room just to spite me even more.
I snuck into Karasuno's changing room to find it mostly empty. Thank goodness. I just had to finish packing my stuff away. In and out. Yamaguchi, who was seemingly the last one, shouldn't even notice me. Alright, smelly gym shoes, check. Dirty jersey that's due for a wash, check. Wrist braces for receiving practice, check. Done and done. Time to go home and thoroughly sulk for a while.
While trying to get out of the school, I looked forward to the doors leading outside, and what do you know, there was a WALL OF AOBA JOHSAI blocking my exit. I swear this team got up this morning and decided to screw me over specifically... I attempted to shimmy past the tall blockers, muttering out "excuse me, sorry" in the process.
"I know that's not the Karasuno boy that promised to chew me out after cleaning up." Oh, that voice again.
"I never promised anything." I shouted in no particular direction. I had no idea where he was. The boys around me finally realized there was a small human between them and moved aside to make room for me. It was like a scene from a cheesy movie. Everyone parted so the two people could face off with each other. I turned myself around to see the setter smirking down at me.
"You're trying to run away pretty fast. Could it be that you can't back up your bold words?"
"Just let me leave. Isn't it enough that you beat us?" I attempted to back up through the front doors, but all inconspicuous-like. Couldn't let on that I was trying to escape. I just had that feeling that Captain Oikawa would pounce. And I was right! As soon as the door started to open, Oikawa sprang forward and slammed the door back shut. I was scared shitless to be honest.
"SHITTYKAWA!" Oikawa suddenly looked like he was the one terrified. He let go of the door and turned.
"Iwa-Chan!" No need to stick around for whatever that is. "Iwa" hit Oikawa on the head and I was out.
As I was walking through the parking lot, ready to start walking home, I faintly heard the school doors open again.
"Y/N-Kun!" I glanced over my shoulder to see that same terrifying setter. Nope. I started walking even faster. Sadly, short legs don't compare to the legs of a six foot dude. "Hey! I was calling you!"
"And I was trying to get away from you."
"You were doing a terrible job." I stopped abruptly, causing the taller man to trip over his own feet trying to stop also. I kept walking right after. "Alright alright fine! Iwa told me to apologize because apparently I was being a 'menace to society,' his words not mine."
"You should take an apologizing class."
"To teach? Yeah, I know."
"Please stop talking to me in the next 5 seconds or else I'm going to scream."
"Yeah right."
"One."
"Seriously just hear me out."
"Two."
"Listen to me first!"
"Three."
"I can't say anything with you-"
"Four."
"Constantly interrupting!"
"Five." I took a deep breath in, preparing to rip my throat apart. Oikawa lunged forward, slapping his hands over my mouth.
"Not trying to go to jail here! I was going to take you shopping to help you cheer up from your terrible loss. You're clearly in need of a new wardrobe." Promptly lifting my foot, I elegantly stomped the shit out of this shithead's toes. "Gah!" He released his hold on my face.
"How would you even take me shopping? You took a bus here."
"Yeah. You'd ride back with us. Obviously." He made it sound like that wasn't the worst idea ever.
"And how would I get back?"
"I have a car." He put a lot of emphasis on that word. He's gonna need that shopping trip too seeing how he's way too big for his pants-
"That's going to take forever." I started walking away again.
"Train then!"
"Why not just buy me a bag of chips?"
"You think Iwa is gonna let me off with a bag of chips?"
"I don't know what Iwa is gonna do!"
"He's not going to!"
"I should care why exactly?"
"Because you're a good person and to see a fellow human suffering would keep you up at night." A fluttering of his eyelashes sealed the deal.
"Iwa was right. You are a menace to society." Walking away again.
"Come onnnn! I'll let you buy whatever!"
"No."
"I'll buy you food!"
"Pass."
"A movie?"
"What are you implying?"
"Something that'll get you on that bus."
"...You should think about the words you say."
"I'll think about them if you shop with me."
"God, you are persistent as hell." Turning to look into Oikawa's eyes, I could see a glint.
"I'll keep annoying you unless you come with us."
"I'm going home!"
"I will follow you there with a blow horn!"
"I thought you weren't trying to go to jail!"
"I'll drag you down with me!" This was never going to end, was it?
"Alright! I'll go shopping with you! Just shut up!" At my confirmation, Oikawa pumped his arms into the air. What a dork.
"Follow me! Our bus is this way." I wanted to bite back, but I was too tired of talking to him, so I just followed wordlessly.
We boarded the bus. Last ones on by the looks of it.
"Iwa-Chan, I got Y/N to accept my apology trip!" Iwa sat in his seat, looking pissed that Oikawa talked to him. Same Iwa, same.
"Just sit down so we can leave." Iwa responded tiredly. Oikawa did that exact thing, taking a seat near the front. Looking around, there were plenty of seats I could sit in; the only thing was that they all had at least one person in them. My awkward ass isn't doing that today. Oikawa it is. Give me strength.
The bus ride went surprisingly smoothly. Oikawa really didn't turn to talk to me at all, the rest of the team slumped over to nap, and I was zoned out on my phone. Before I knew it, two hours had passed and I was in Iwate prefecture. I felt a sharp elbow jab my arm.
"Hope you're ready to start forgiving."
"Why are your elbows so sharp?"
"Wha-"
"Knife elbows."
"Just... come on." He nudged his knee against mine to signal that I should get up. I did just that, allowing him to stand. I was gonna need him to show me around considering I've never been here. We were the first ones off. The rest of his team looked like zombies as they rose to a slow stand.
Oikawa began to lead me toward a busy street, the signs showing off a plethora of businesses.
"So what's your style?"
"I like comfortable clothes."
"Yeah, duh. You're going to buy some actual nice clothes, though." I huffed in annoyance.
"Just take me to a store you like."
"Good choice!" And with that, he tugged me toward a store in particular. Upon entering, I noticed the store stocked both feminine and masculine clothing. Honestly I was expecting him to take me to a fancy country club golfing store. He seems the type. "Look around. Get whatever catches your eye." I watched Oikawa approach a sweater vest. I allowed my eyes to scan all the preppy and bright clothes they had on display. Nope, gotta go deeper. So I walked through the racks in the feminine side of the store, relaxing slowly as I thumbed through the countless shirts, skirts, and pants.
No more than 15 minutes had passed and I had found nothing. As I was perusing the dresses, though, two store employees came up to me.
"A young gentleman asked us to help you while he ran to get something. Do you need any help?" The blonde lady asked.
"Hm. Actually, do you think you can help me find a dress that fits me well? I could use a new one."
"Oh! I know one that'll look great on you. What's your size?" The dark-haired one that time.
"Medium." The darker-haired lady bustled away, hurrying to pull out a beautiful sunset-themed dress. It had a long skirt and that was perfect because I loved swishing long skirts around myself. "Can I try it on?" Excitement dripped through my tone. I had to try it on. It's been a while since I've gotten to wear a long dress like this one.
"Of course!" The two ushered me to the changing rooms. I entered one and started changing.
I checked my reflection, lifting my arms and spinning in place. The dress fit perfectly, the color palette was stunning, and Oikawa was the one paying. It's perfect! I clicked open the dressing room door and stepped out.
"It looks wonderful on you!" The blonde worker smiled gently at me. I couldn't help the grin that stretched onto my face in return. Doing a small twirl and pose that showed off the skirt bounce, I heard a really loud gasp behind me. I cracked open my eyes to see what happened and was met with the sight of Oikawa holding two fruity tea drinks in his hand and his mouth agape.
"Y/N... Chan?" His mouth returned to hanging open, which caused the sip he apparently took of his tea to spill out.
"Gross Oikawa! Close your mouth!" Said boy obeyed, apologizing for the mess and offering to clean it up. The blonde worker waved off his offer, insisting that she would take care of it.
"So I assume you'll be buying the dress?" The dark-haired worker asked.
"Yes!" Both Oikawa and I both exclaimed in unison. The worker smiled and left to ring us up.
"You like the dress too?"
"Hold on, first off, you're a girl?!"
"...Uh, yeah? Wait, did you seriously not know?"
"News flash, no one knows." Oikawa grappled a hand onto my arm to lead me to the register, trading my tea with me.
"That's dramatic. I'm sure my team knows."
"They're the ones that introduced you as a guy." My mind blanked at that. Does... no one know? Really? My mind flashed back to when Oikawa and I were bickering in the hallway.
"Fuck... that's why you called me Karasuno boy. And -kun. I just... I thought it was a gender-neutral thing."
"Pretty face but not a pretty mind. A shame." I was quick to shove him into a shirt rack after that. He recovered quickly, but I made my point. At the register, Oikawa pulled out his wallet and started paying for the dress. He was spending more than I thought he would... I feel bad. I sipped my drink while waiting for the exchange to finish up. "Come on, Y/N-Chan." My heart fluttered at the nickname, much to my aggravation, as I quickened my step to follow after the captain. "Why didn't you join the girls' volleyball team? You're practically begging for people to mistake you when you dress in those baggy clothes."
"...There's a girls' team?" An amused sigh escaped the man next to me's lips.
"You're hopeless."
"Hey, don't blame me! I come from a small town, small school too. We only had one volleyball team since there wasn't much interest."
"Hmph, their loss."
"Are you pouting? Because people in my town don't play volleyball?" I did not miss the deepening pout as Oikawa turned his head away. I let out a clear laugh.
"Mph. How does your team not know? Don't you change with them?" My big grin calmed to a mild grin at the change of subject.
"I take a while to pack my stuff, so I usually get in the locker room after everyone is gone. Just lucky I guess."
"Luck is an understatement." A small giggle unleashed from my chest. Well, I'll be damned. I'm actually bonding with Oikawa. Life really throws curveballs.
"Where are we going?"
"My house. Gotta get my car to take you home." Nevermind on that bonding part.
"I thought we were taking the train!" A teasing chuckle resounded from the boy next to me.
"Trains don't run from Iwate to Miyagi."
"Why didn't you tell me that!?" I playfully punched the setter's arm. He rubbed it in mock hurt, the cocky grin never leaving his face.
"I figured you'd know."
"You ass!"
"Careful, Y/N-Chan~ I'm the one taking you home!" I hate him... but he's right.
"Let's go already."
"Gladly~"
We arrived fairly quickly and the area was a beautiful residential zone. I wanted to look around more, but Oikawa, being the darling he is, opened the passenger door and shoved me in. He was beside me in the car the next moment, starting the engine, and telling me to buckle my seatbelt. Once I did what he asked, he was peeling out of his driveway and down the road.
"What's the rush?!" I worriedly asked.
"I don't want to miss dinner." Charming. A silence enveloped us. It was comfortable, but I honestly had something I wanted to tell him.
"Oikawa?"
"Toru. Toru is fine."
"Toru. I wanted to say something."
"Go ahead then. We've got a few hours to kill anyway."
"Your serves... and your sets. I really like them." The car swerved the slightest bit. I think I took him by surprise.
"Y-yeah? You're not the only one." Play it off all you want Toru, I heard that stutter.
"I'm not just giving you a compliment. I was wondering if you could practice with me one day. I can help you set and you can help me serve."
"Why would I go and help the enemy? I prefer winning." He was steady, speaking in a calm voice, but I had eyes everywhere. His jaw was clenched tight when he wasn't speaking.
"The same reason I would help you."
"Hm." A chuckle-like noise sounded from his lips. "You've got a point there... Alright, I'll practice with you sometime." I faced forward in my seat, smiling at the road, thinking of our future practice sessions.
Hours passed and I was finally back home! I will admit that my outing with Oikawa wasn't unbearable, but I did miss my sulking time. I popped open Toru's car door and stood from my sitting position.
"Thanks for the ride... and the day out. I had a lot more fun than I thought I would."
"See? I told you you'd have a good time."
"No you didn't." He was silent for a minute, still smiling dopily.
"So you forgive me?" I rolled my eyes with a smirk dancing on my face.
"Tell Iwa that you're off the hook."
"Thank you!" And after our goodbyes, he drove off.
The next day at Seijoh came around.
"What are you so happy about, Shittykawa?"
"Y/N-Chan let me off the hook! You can't yell at me~" While Oikawa mentally celebrated his victory, Iwa picked up on his new habit.
"Y/N-Chan? With you calling him that, he probably hates you even more." Oikawa's smile soured from one of joy to the fake one he was so used to wearing.
"Haha, yeah. He really hates my guts."
"I don't blame him."
"Ouch, Iwa-Chan! That one hurt!"
"I don't care."

“Friends that listen to my rambling into the void, my simping, and my info dumping were always a rare occurrence. It's when I find them now that I find myself being ultra protective over them. I want them to be happy, I want them to ramble and info dump right back." (Me.)
I know that my edits have been rather lacking this month but really I couldn't think of anything to do this month for a special event. I decided that I would much rather get back into making some newer friendship edits for my favorite people. I rarely meet newer friends now at least I don't really here, instead I've been more active on my discord making my own chats, joining new ones, and making new friends that way. One of the first friends that I considered myself making was the first non tumblr person to join my VA appreciation server. Fellas, let's talk about my friend Gris.
My friend Gris is truly someone really, really amazing. She was instantly one of the kindest and friendliest people that I have ever met in my entire life. She instantly joined me in the rambling about voice actors and that surprised me because I rarely ever meet anyone that actually knows the voice actors that I talk about and is able to introduce me to know ones that blow my brain (she was the one that told me that Chris Patton was also the OG Greed in FMA-that was a trip that I did not need to go on thank you very much). Very few people are actually able to keep up with me when I info dump about my favorite VAs but she's always raring to go and to me that means everything. I've always been called out for being such a big fan of voice acting when nobody else really got into it around me so I knew that the moment that I met Gris that we'd be the rambling duo.
I met Gris through my demisexual chat when I first found that I was demiromantic and that was the sexuality that fit me the best. It was then that I invited her to join my voice acting rambling chat that I run on Discord. Spending the last few months getting to know her little by little helped me to come into terms with the fact that I wasn't alone. There were other people that understood out in the world. It's because of her that I've felt confident enough to know that eventually someone will read my messages and that I can go off on tangents.
Alright, so y'all know how I've been really on the *Mr Compress is best man* train lately?? Well meet the woman that started that conversation, we were talking about how much we were dreading the war arc of season 6 and that's when she brought up that she was a Compress simp. Then the more I thought about it, the more I was like damn it I think I might be one too. That's how that all went down and now I'm enamored with the character. This just recently happened *again* FOR A SECOND TIME MIND YOU when she got into Obey Me over the weekend and dragged me with her when I fell in love with Beelzebub and Belphegor (and Mammon- look blame her for this problem NOT ME). That's one of my favorite things about Gris though is how she's not really ashamed of herself and what she's interested in once she gets comfortable enough around you. She will gladly talk your ear off about the gloriousness that is Mammon. She was actually the first person that I met who was a Diabolik Lovers fan that agreed with me that Subaru is best boi- (I swear I would do anything for Subaru I freaking love him so, so much. Protective tsundere for the win) most of the people in this fandom have not the best taste not gonna lie which was why I was like YES someone finally gets me when she told me that her favorite was Subaru. (Shu is my second favorite. I'm just now realizing that a big reason behind that is the fact that he's voiced by Kuroo's VA).
When I was in high school, I never really felt comfortable with talking about my husbandos or the characters that I loved and sometimes I'm still not comfortable with my simping. Mostly because it's sort of different in it's variation and not a lot of people really understand it. But once I learned that Gris didn't really judge and we both got more comfortable with each other's rambling we learned that this could be an open and safe space. That was my goal with creating my discord was to make it the safest space possible. To have a venting/hyper fixation server that is constantly blowing up on my phone has been one of the happiest things that has happened to me in a long time. I've never been happier in another friend's presence since my quarantine started really. The only other person that I can think of that has been so understanding of my special interests is my best friend since I was 8. I can't tell you in words just how much Gris as a friend means to me. She's one of the most special people that I've ever met in my entire life. I really, really appreciate her more than I can put into words and I'd spend the rest of my days praising her character if that's what it takes.
