There’s no doubt that we need friends and that communication has its advantages. But scientists wouldn’t be scientists if they didn’t decide to conduct research to answer a question. And that question was: Do we really need communication to feel happy and satisfied with our lives? Their research project involved 15,000 people between the ages of 18 and 28 who lived in areas with different population densities and who communicated with their friends at different frequencies.
