When griffguts had their second duel and Guts was going to leave already, Griffith's daemon just got on Guts dog back, clutched at it, and didn't want to fly away. Guts daemon seemed fine with it and not trying to chase it away.

Guts sighed and like ok fine i do it myself. He came closer to the hawk and reached out to take bird off but stumbled upon her scolding look. He asked her then very gently: May I? Hawk's eyes pierced him with accusations. No? Ok, it was bad idea anyways. And he stepped away.

... aaand so... Guts just cannot go cause a person and their daemon can't be too far away from each other and he did't want to hurt Griffith too.

...And in the end they had to talk like normal people.

P.S.: Daemons just planned it all alone cause they are not so dumb as their humans are.
