the “ramuda is cloned from nayuta” theory is sooo good when you realize that ramuda is a scientist instead of a science experiment in stella and stella is about the parts of themselves that they’re hiding. dice is the son of the prime minister, and gentaro is a “thief” stealing his brother’s identity, therefore ramuda being a scientist alludes to who he was cloned from

thinking about the… potential clawthorne woodcarving mentorship.
+ bonus cuz also thinking abt how if hunter ever met dell’s palisman and got reminded of flapjack, he’d probably feel bad abt making that association cuz he knows what it’s like to be seen only as someone’s different version (even though the bird wouldn’t mind much so lol)

We know Willow wasn’t in Hexside when she was around around 7-10 years old because Odalia mentioned she hadn’t been accepted into it yet. Considering they have classes starting from around preschool age and up this implies Willow transferred schools! I wonder if her family moved to Bonesborough or if she was just homeschooled as we know her dads are willing to do so. I’m leaning on them moving because they say they want her to have a ‘top notch education’ and I don’t think they’d homeschool her as a first choice. Maybe they thought Hexside was a better school then her previous one?

It's interesting to me that neither of Willow's parents are plant magic users, or at least neither studied plant magic. I always assumed plant magic ran in the family but both pushed Willow towards abomination because it was more like the STEM field of covens. However in actuality Harvey (beard) studied abomination and Gilbert (glasses) studied construction.
Even further neither went to Hexside, and as we've seen in small details the schools they did go to (Glandus for Harvey, Saint Epiderm for Gilbert) are not near where they settled down or was nothing like Hexside's culture. Saint Epiderm is explained to be really expensive and really cold due to being located in the Knee, so either Gilbert was also on scholarships like Raine -- which means he was sol about how Terra fucked with the IFWOT -- or his family was able to afford tuition. Glandus is apparently full of bullies and aggressive measures, as seen in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins", so Harvey might've had a rough time at school.
I think these details where neither went to Hexside and neither use plant magic, while not what I expected, does make sense for why they'd take Willow to a more affordable/less aggressive school and why they'd push her towards a more "prestigious" coven track --- very classic "we want you to have an easier/better life than we did" parenting train of thought. I do wonder now given where he's moved to and his studying of abomination magic if Harvey works with/for/in rival companies of the Blights. And for Gilbert, what kind of work construction magic does (do they like. City infrastructure? Work on the castle? Contract work?). Anyway hope we see more of them

Honestly Demon Realm’s child birth is so fascinating to me!! and a treasure for making fankids xD
Same sex couples can have biological children!!
I’ve heard people say that Willow looks more like one of her dads. But nah, she looks like both.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Willow has Gilbert’s hair, skin and eye color, yes. That immediately catches the eye. But she also has Harvey’s eyes, face and nose shape.
So I wonder how!
Is it their anatomy? Being able to carry a child isn’t dependable on sex?
Or is it a spell?
Or rather celestial incantation? That would be cool!
Bringing books to life by Wailing Star, or animating any object by Moon. It looks like a few instances of celestial magic use connects somehow with life. Even Lilith’s incantation has something to do with splitting and sharing any pain.
I wonder how does this work!
Would be awesome if both partners(or even more! how amazing that would be if more partners can join in making their child!) touch some magic filled artifact(the touching part) and chanted a specific incantation. On a specific day of month, depends on the Moon, of course!) The artifact will absorb witches magic and energy.
And then from that artifact a flower bud will bloom(what flower exactly depends on future parents <3). Small first. They take it with them and care and the bud will grow bigger until one day it will blossom and reveal their newborn! <3

IDK IF YOU'RE STILL OPEN FOR REQUESTS HUT HEAR ME OUT ON THIS:
HUNTLOW/WINTER BUT HUNTER IS MEETING WILLOW'S DADS FOR THE FIRST TIME :D
anon i basically imagined a whole fanfic idea from this ask alone and i can't wait for uni to be less hectic so i can plan that fic out ahhhhahsdfja
for context, this type of HCs is made with the thought that huntlow/winter is already official (the typical invite to the house for a family dinner) <33
Tumblr media
gilbert and harvey have my whole heart, they love willow so much (they literally quit their jobs on the fly, just to homeschool her the moment she was expelled like that dedicATION-) and they want the best for their only daughter
of course that internally pressures hunter to no end cause like,,, how would you know if you are enough for someone's only daughter? belos definitely didn't leave much room for hunter to have a love life when he was the golden guard, so meeting the dads?? what do you do??
sure hunter has been exposed to other parents. there's amity's parents, luz's mom, and there's eda. but they're not his girlfriend's parents-
hunter totally took way too much time fixing his hair before the meeting ("is this too neat? ugh this feels like i'm trying too hard. [does a different style] well this just shows like i'm not trying hard enough [groans in frustration]")
of course uncle darius comes to the rescue <33 ("you want a clean but classy look, but not too classy you're not going to a ball you just want to be presentable to the men whose blessing can make or break your relationship." [cue distressed hunter tm whimper])
between gilbert and harvey, girlbert is definitely the friendlier one
"i heard you have teleportation magic of sorts, that's very impressive" [cue in hunter stammering cause we all know this boi ain't used to receiving compliments]
harvey being the more "stern" one is keeping up a good streak of not being easily impressed but he's attentive to the things hunter say and do
"so you were the golden guard" and a "you really left your position just like that, huh?" along with a "so you met my daughter under false pretenses? to recruit her?"
the first one wasn't so bad, and the second kind of put him on the spot cause that's a lot of baggage, but that third question scared hunter to his core but before he could explain himself, harvey just boomed
"and she's the first person you wanted to include in the best coven!" harvey is absolutely beaming with pride. questionable tactics aside, it technically was the most elite coven around at the time. and technically willow wasn't the first person he wanted to recruit but she was the first serious candidate hunter wanted and that's what counts more. plus, willow was in the abomination coven because harvey told her there were "better opportunities in that track" so it fits. harvey wants willow to have the best offers and hunter met her because that's exactly what he's willing to give
thank titan that harvey's loosening up too, because it comes to the best part
"we actually met b-because of flyer derby, sir-"
"GILBERT, OH MY TITAN, THEY'RE LIKE US! GET THE ALBUMS!"
that's really all it took and harvey is absolutely gushing as he and gilbert reminiscence about the early years of their relationship plus their flyer derby team
"we were the ghouls and gilbert was the absolute best with our defensive tactics! the other team always have a hard time trying to get our flags." harvey praised his husband, "he was the one that chose our team name too."
"you know, dads, hunter was the one that thought of our team name. remember what i mentioned? the emerald entrails!"
a catchy name? a catchy name that's the main color associated with their daughter? yESSSSS-
it went better than hunter could've ever expected. yes he was a walking ball of anxious nerves but his entire journey with willow really spoke for itself about their relationship
plus harvey and gilbert aren't blind, they see how much their daughter loves hunter too. with how mutual that love and admiration is, how can they possibly not approve?
by the end of the meeting, gilbert and harvey gave hunter two things: (1) a blank album for him and willow to fill up themselves and (2) the recipe to willow's favorite comfort food ("if you ever upset her, which i sure hope you won't, this will easily get her back up to a good mood with you")

Willow's Dads!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So we know now that they went to St. Epiderm and Glandus High! (Feeling a little smug about guessing that correctly!)
Also Willow was in Abomination because her dad was in that track! And her other dad seems to be in construction.
Interesting that neither of them seem to do plant magic.
(Also, is the blue girl the same species as Kikimora? does that mean Kiki is just unusually short?)

Do you think the real reason Harvey and Gilbert wanted Willow in the Abomination track is because of experience of meeting Terra Snapdragon at HECK and how she casually drops child murder in a conversation. Like they were afraid of when Willow started growing in Plant magic and was good at it, they mentally flashed back to that day and immediately got scared? That one day if Willow joined the Plant Coven that she’ll attract the attention of Snapdragon?
Do you think they begged Bump to have Willow be in Abominations at first?
“Please assign her to Abominations track, it would be good for her.” Gilbert said, rubbing his hands together.
“Are you sure that’s what she want?” Bump asked. “Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to talk with—?”
“You’ve met her! You were there that day with Clawthorne!” Harvey snapped. “You heard the things she said to us!”
He blinked. “I see…This is about Coven Head Snapdragon, isn’t it?”
They glanced at each other before bowing their heads.
“When…when we saw her tending to the garden,” Gilbert whispered, fiddling absently at his smock. “We knew she would make for a powerful plant witch…”
“But we also knew she’d attract the attention of Terra Snapdragon at some point, too.” Harvey finished, glancing to the floor.
“We just want her to be safe…” he whispered, grabbing his husband’s hand. “If she eventually entered the Plant Coven, the Head Witch there will break her. We can’t afford our dear daughter into her clutches.”
“It’s why we never wanted to apply her at Glandus or St. Epiderm.” The darker man added. “Glandus would destroy her and we don’t have the money for Epiderm nor do we care for it.”
“So you came to me?” Bump asked calmly.
“We did notice you with the twenty stress toys.” He chuckled.
The principal bursted out laughing along with the parents.
“The question is…” he started, frowning. “Is this the right choice for her?”
“Yes.” Harvey answered firmly.
“In all my years at this school, parents always think they know what’s best, but never decide to ask the child because they feel as though they aren’t ready for it.” He explains, intertwining his fingers. “I just hope you are right.
Yeah, this thought/headcanon has been in my brain for a while, and now after Them’s the Breaks Kid, it reinforced it. I like to think that Willow’s dads were afraid that Terra Snapdragon would hurt her if she caught her attention.

Amity’s Protection
Tumblr media
So here’s the thing with Amity.
She puts everything on her shoulders. Everything. This is something she’s learned from her parents, from the way they used to treat her - and still do, to a point - it’s something that’s she’s had to do since she was a little kid in order to make a name for herself in her own home. She wasn’t as good as her siblings - who are two years older than her, mind you - and that was a problem, and it was her problem, and so she started to deal with it. She wasn’t listening enough, or her siblings weren’t listening enough, and she was given a necklace to ensure that she could never stray far from Odalia’s voice. She wasn’t hanging out with the right people, and she had to fix that.
Odalia and Alador threaten her, put the situation entirely on Amity, and tell her that Willow’s application to Hexside is completely in Amity’s hands  (a move that is even WORSE when you realize that both of Willow’s dads went to other schools - clearly they’re hoping Willow will have a better time at Hexside than they did in their respective institutions) Willow is Amity’s best friend; they must have talked about what they’ll do when they get into Hexside. Amity knows how excited Willow would have been, and her parents say they can stop that from happening.
Willow wouldn’t be able to get into Hexside. And even if Amity was willing to let that happen and Willow was okay with that (which wouldn’t happen), Odalia (and Alador) wouldn’t have just backed down and let the matter drop. There was nothing Amity could’ve done in this moment that would have resulted in anything better.
And Amity puts everything on her own shoulders.
Tumblr media
In the scene where they essentially “break up” their friendship, Amity clearly has no idea what she’s doing. She’s confused, obviously, and she’s upset, because this is her best friend, and she has no idea what to say, and ultimately, it’s Willow who gives her the fuel she’s grasping for. She latches onto the first thing Willow says, which is her lack of talent with magic, and yes, it’s cruel, and I’m not trying to pretend it’s not, but it’s also so deeply sad for both of them.
Tumblr media
So of COURSE she’s freaking out about the idea of Willow getting hurt while she’s around. She’s not “reverting back to her former self,” like some people have suggested, it’s the opposite; this episode sees Amity actually showing more of her true self than Willow’s ever seen.
Thing is, Amity’s been living her life without any real friends ever since Willow left her house that fateful night. She’s been around Boscha more than anyone, and while I’m sure Boscha’s got her own issues to work through, she and Amity clearly just fuel each other’s fires - and not in a good way.
My point is this: Amity has no idea how to be a friend, especially how to be a friend to someone she’s hurt so deeply before. She’s a dumbass. She assumes things and runs with that assumption - runs with the idea that she’s supposed to do everything in an attempt to make up with that person–Willow, in this instance. It’s why she was so desperate in Eclipse Lake, too, she feels like she has to be the perfect everything, perfect friend in this circumstance, and while that desperation has improved over time, interacting with Willow probably stresses her out more than a lot of things, so that mentality returns when she’s nervous.
It’s not that she’s thinking Willow’s weak, it’s that she’s trying to deal with her own guilt for not protecting Willow better before. It’s still not great, of course, but there’s clearly no malice in how she’s acting, the problem stems from Amity’s mindset being “Protect Willow” and therefore making her unable to comprehend that Willow both wants and is perfectly capable of taking care of herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Willow gets fed up with this - understandably so - and the line “I want you to see who I really am” is very telling, I think. Willow wants to reconnect too - if she didn’t, she wouldn’t have put up with Amity’s flapping - and she wants to build a new relationship with Amity, but that would be impossible if Amity doesn’t see her.
In order to reconnect, Amity has to look past her own perceptions and see what Willow is saying.
And she does….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s all Willow needed.
Willow wants to reconnect, and so does Amity, and now they’re on the same page, for perhaps the first time ever. They’re capable of working together, of fighting together, and I mean, come on, just look at them. They’ve worked out the majority of their issues (even if it’ll never be the same as it was, which is okay) and they’re only the stronger for it. They’re already forces to be reckoned with on their own, and together…?
Philip had better watch out.
