I said I’d make a guess for every submission against mine, but I admit that rec 108 had me stumped. A lot of early guesses were for Snapcube Sonic: “blow up the moon”, “mustachioed leaders of armies”, and “everyone is canonically gay” being things that jumped out to me as evidence. But unless I’d forgotten too much about what happened in the Sonic Destruction videos, “accidental cannibalism”, “immortality”, “depictions of grief” and “dehumanization from war” all seemed too off. There *are* robots in Sonic (and by extension the Snapcube dubs), but none of them sing. It really felt like the submitter had written it in a way to make you think of Snapcube Sonic, a red herring. There’s too many things that don’t line up than there are things that do, and the stuff that do seem like the “big” things that people think when they think Snapcube Sonic: the blowing up the moon, Robotnik, and gay.
I tried coming up with something else, but I think the media is something I’ve never been exposed to. So I’m jumping on something I’d never heard of that were in the tags of the poll (I meant to uplift it since I believe you don’t track guesses in tags, and then two anons guessed it before I got to send this, but I wanted to show my thought process of why I thought Snapcube Sonic is a red herring): Gunpowder Tim vs the Moon Kaiser. I leave it up to your discretion on whether you think this counts as an official guess for the books, since either of those two anons could’ve been the person I read the tags from.

Might just be due to my current brainrot (very close to finishing it myself), but I want to guess that rec 122 is the video game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Don't want to explain the rest of my thought process to avoid accidental spoilers, but even the detail "the most exciting film series this side of King Kong" could fit into this guess if you twist it a little... One of the protagonists is a movie buff who likes various fictional disaster movies, including one that's supposedly a reference to Godzilla – which in turn has a certain connection to King Kong. Besides, I'm pretty sure that the 13 character routes take roughly 1h30m each, so they would definitely be a series of film length stories (even if their events are not entirely separate).

I kinda suspected #108 was Gunpowder Tim vs the Moon Kaiser, but looking at it closer, yeah it's absolutely 100% GTvtMK. And even if it isn't, everyone should go listen to GTvtMK anyway.

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 8
Rec #122
Everyone line up for the most exciting movie series this side of King Kong! It's got an absolutely heartwarming romance between the badass protagonist and his beloved wife as they protect their city from monsters together! It's got canon disabled, POC, and drag queen representation! It's got heartbreaking themes of grief and powerlessness explored through time travel! It's got a strong female character who saves the day on her own and has a 100% platonic relationship with the male lead! It defies genre, with sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, and historical elements! Hell, it even has celebrity cameos! What more could you want?
Rec #127
are you a fan of stories where the protagonist is just too selfless for their own good? what about an element-based magic system that was secretly designed to destroy the world under the right conditions? maybe even throw in some queer enemies-to-lovers? oh, but i haven't even mentioned the supporting cast yet! we have an angsty furry, gender non-conforming representation, lots of characters confirmed queer by the author, and even a quirky neurodivergent character! if you like the idea of a ragtag group of superheroes coming together to save the world in a fantasy setting, you'll love this!

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 7
Rec #113
Are you a fan of clever wordplays, Mérimée's "Carmen", Poe's "Annabel Lee", and ROAD TRIPS? Then this might be the book for you!
This book features:
an unreliable narrator
a dark-haired, brooding protagonist
an in-universe foreword
(implied?) lesbian side characters
lush descriptions of the great American landscape
allusions to postwar American culture
witty references to literary and historical figures
puns, many puns!
There Is Only One Bed™ (probably not the best occurrence of the trope, but eh)
Deaf/HoH side character
Amputee side character
Single parent MC (though he's definitely not an ideal one)
Parent-child conflict(s)
Runaway plot
uh yeah that's all the tropes that I can think about regarding this book without spoiling it too much
Rec #118
Think classic stories are boring? What if it had someone who died and Came Back Wrong? What if it had a diverse found family that COMMITS CRIMES TOGETHER?? Doomed love? An evil machine?? Flirtatious duels between men who desperately need therapy??? Women that do magic and fight mercenaries???? What if it had a story of rivals to lovers…. to RIVALS TO LOVERS AGAIN?????
In this boundary-pushing retelling of a classic, the author removes all the boooring historical satire and unnecessary descriptions-- putting the #GirlBoss protagonist at the front of things. As she should be.
It's got action, political intrigue, AND of course, lots of romance!!! :D Fake dating, mistaken identity, AND a love triangle (between a criminal mastermind and a bloodthirsty noble)! Do either of them have secret tragic pasts?? Will there be villain redemption?? You'll have to read to find out for sure, but know the answer is probably yes ;)
Seriously add this to your TBR! And add the sequel to your TBR! I can't WAIT for it to come out based on the already-released preview stuff (the feeeeels)-- surely it'll release soon! :')

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 6
Rec #108
Do you like explosions? Do you like blowing up THE MOON? Well, have I got the media for you. It’s a rollicking adventure featuring singing robot-like soldiers with no will of their own, mustachioed head honchos of enemy armies, and some best friends taking on the ultimate evil with the Power of Friendship(tm), spite, and big huge guns. We’ve got cannibalism and heat rays and incidental immortality, fantastic representations of grief and the dehumanization of war, not to mention that ALL of the characters are canonically queer! I guarantee that if you like all those things, then this media is for you.
Rec #109
Do you like girls? No, I mean, do you LIKE girls? Young girls, older women? Sisters, mothers, daughters, in-laws, besties, rivals, enemies. Girls crushing, girls transitioning, girls committing violence, girls doing crime, girls murdering? Pretty girls, cute girls, handsome girls, tomboy girls, freaky girls? Girls that'll treat you right, girls that'll ruin your life? Princesses, goddesses, monsters, demons, ghosts, animal girls, magical girls, science girls, all the girls! Girls from mythology, girls from HERstory. Girlbosses, gaslighters, gatekeepers, girlfailures. Dresses, skirts, pants, oh my! Girls who break the law, girls who are the law! Capitalists, revolutionaries, mob bosses, and high schoolers, too! And the best part for girl-lovers? NO BOYS ALLOWED (except for that one guy and the turtle)!

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 5
Rec #97
Who would win: the human man trying to save the country, or the dysfunctional family on a wacky adventure that don't even come up to his knees? And what happens when that family breaks into his house when all his efforts are about to pay off?
In this pun-tastic media, you get to find out. Our protagonist struggles with his self-esteem, but that doesn't stop him from putting on a smile, and the family is always up to some sort of hijinks!
Not to mention the representation here! This story's cast is full of queer characters, both gender and orientation wise, and there's a huge number of characters of color! There's also rep for both mental and physical disabilities!
Oh, and don't let the silliness make you think the story never pulls on your heartstrings! There's so much emotion here you'd never believe me if I told you everything happens in a single afternoon!
Rec #103
Dude this show has everything! It’s got canon queer and ND rep, string female characters, found family, power of friendship, and misfits coming together! It’s even got explorations of several types of trauma and characters overcoming their trauma to grow as people! Who doesn’t love a band of misfits turned family challenging the status quo! And spoiler, but they even succeed in the end!

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 4
Rec #90
Who wants another fantasy book with a STROOOOONG FEMALE MC? Who wants a fantasy book series where…. EVERY female character is a total #girlboss? That sounds awesome enough on its own, right? And they're even different in their girl bossing ways! We have a quirky girl who casts black magic! A girly bruiser! A morally gray scholar! A badass warrior queen! A skilled manipulator! But even better: almost every male character is fucking lame. We've got a genderswapped version of the runaway princess trope! A loser man afraid of his grandma! A little guy scared of his own powers and responsibilities! The only male character in this series who ISN'T lame as hell is the GAY DILF! GENDER ROLES? DESTROYED 💥💥💥💥 also there's fantasy racism and it's handled fine.
Rec #95
Do you ever wish Shakespeare wrote more queer characters? Well here’s a medieval story with a canon gay protagonist. It’s forbidden love but the main couple does not care. We’ve also got a girlboss queen and a morally grey protagonist. It’s got a lot of lore you can get into, but it’s still really fun if you don’t. There’s a love triangle that kinda turns into a love square in the second half and also a bunch of characters of all ages. We’ve seriously got everything here: murder, a dysfunctional family, and all sorts of secrecy. If you wanna see a pathetic guy ruin his own life, this is the story for you.

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 3
Rec #84
Political intrigue. Secret romance. Assassination plots. This piece of media has it all, from tragedy to comedy to contemplations of what it truly means to be human, and whether that even matters at all. Gunfights and sword fights are carefully balanced with scathing social commentary in this visually striking piece of media. Strong, well-written female characters with cringefail loser boyfriends who nonetheless love and support their s/o the best way they can. Nonhuman characters who are fully allowed to be nonhuman, with all that entails. Massive conspiracies. Mental health issues and grief representation. POC. Cannon queer characters. Prophecies and visions. Women with guns. And best of all -- in this story, the villains well and truly win. This piece of media really does have it all.
Rec #86
Want a classic hero’s journey with some fun twists? A morally grey protagonist with trauma who loves and respects his wife more than anything? Strong female characters, including a feminist witch, a sexy goddess who take initiative in pursuing the men she loves, girlboss warrior women, and a lady who uses her smarts to ward off misogynist men? Multiple POVs and time jumps? Rivalries, fun sidequests, and cute kids? Then this media is for you!

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 2
Rec #76
Are you looking for an incredible series that delves deep into religious trauma and purity culture through the supernatural? Jane Eyre meets The Hunger Games meets Gravity Falls in this awesome series. It features a diverse cast including queer and POC actors as strong female protagonists and queer-coded characters. This series uses its distinct representation of the paranormal as a metaphor to tackle important issues like bodily autonomy, religious philosophy, mental health, and generational trauma. This series also includes some great romance and relationships, such as found family, enemies-to-lovers, and childhood-friends-to-lovers. Plus, if you just can't get enough, there's tons of lore and spinoffs to sink your teeth into. If you love philosophical debate, comprehensive world building, swoon-worthy romances, and/or unique takes on the supernatural, then this is for you!
Rec #77
Looking for a game that presents as a "run around and kill stuff" game but turns into a "wow this has so much lore that I can't even keep up" game? This is for you! It has themes and tropes like found family, good vs evil, "he's a bad guy but not a bad guy," and more! There are tons of characters too- from good to bad to inbetween, with canon gay and trans rep! There are questions of what it means to be a person, and it deals with trauma and loss. Don't want to fight? There are a ton of sode objectives! Gather materials, spear some boots, shoot some rocks! You even get to text and play counselor if you want! Oh, and don't forget the romance aspect! Pick a hottie and go for it. Just… don't play with volume on in public maybe?

Guess That Rec Season 2: Round 3, Poll 1
Rec #65
Do you want a story with a cast that's almost completely female? Do you want a story with a girlboss who gets to be big (and unshaved, hee hee), without any stupid morals about how that's wrong??? A cool old lady mentor? Criticism of the church??? Showing cops as the brutes that they are??? A sweet slowburn will-they-won't-they with a short king who grows and changes and becomes a better person for the main character? A boss-ass-bitch princess who comes into the story killing people? A story about a laywoman saving her kingdom?
Sick worldbuilding, amazing adventures, a little dash of spirituality, have i mentioned the girlbosses??? And stakes that always manage to feel high!!! The author studied the subjects of the story so well, and it shows! Strong tension too!!!
You've gotta see it!!!
Rec #70
Listen. There's this anthology series with a revolving set of protagonists. There's several disabled protagonists, and others get stories about learning to adapt after traumatic events too. There's bi rep. There's a widowed dad who's just trying to do his best by his son even if he messes up a lot, it's heartbreaking but they're just the cutest. (And hey, if you'd rather some messy family drama, the twins got you covered!) All in all, it's a show about getting back up whenever life knocks you down, and idk, we all need something like that right now
