Latin. for the greater glory of God: motto of the Jesuits.

Thinking of the clothing line DEUS (EX MACHINA) for motorcycles. Specifically Deus, latin for “God”.

But DEI is shorter and sounds like “DIE” The “Die” works in two ways— punk way and Christian way.

In Christianity you "deny your self and take up your cross”— luke 9.23/ I must decrease and he increase john 3.30/ philippians 1:21- For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But in a rejection of life and how punk’s reject the way of life everyone else is trying to live.

Typeface choices.

Starting with punk aesthetics- punk design would often be very amateur and inconsistent int heir typeface choices. Though they would range from hand-drawn, serif and san serif typefaces; though not commonly decorative type. 

Biblical typefaces are started in a blacklettering (gutenberg bible) but shifted to the use of Jenson alongside Garamond in early texts as well.

My selection choices of type are to be Helvetica for a very neutral, clean typeface with several weights to select from & Arial Unicode MS as a close second in san serif type. Reason for this is because Arial is used in bibles, but Helvetica popular in the advertising so I take Helvetica for a slight design increase. Baskerville as a cleaner choice rather than Jenson. So a slight upgrade on either font. 

Colours to use are mostly monochromatic and visuals will be using halftone and grainy scans. Though the colour palette will be black, white, red and gold according the salvation bracelet.

Prison Theology

- 15:30 Pastor John Xiao was arrested for his ministry and in the past 2 years, he lost 40-50 lbs. In his transfer his lawyer released a book “My onesimis” where he led so many drug dealers and killers to Christ. Baptized them etc.
