If Azriel’s shadows skittered back from Gwyn and vanished in Gwyn’s presence, Elriels would NOT be arguing that it’s actually a good thing. They are in deep denial and it’s sad to see.

Some of the things I saw in the e*riel stuff that honestly made me more confident in my ship 👇

1. “Azriel’s shadows vanishing is a good thing.”

First off sarah has already told us that when his shadows and him are calm and content then they simply lounge on his shoulders....

And be serious. If you actually read the books, the words, you’d see his shadows vanish when he's near Mor, or in some scenarios they are threatened or don't like something (the bright sunlight)

They have caressed Feyre's cheek, they are present when he's with his brothers so are they claiming that Azriel is not safe and happy with his family??

They do vanish around Mor and Mor has unknowingly and not her fault, hurt him emotionally so according to this logic why are they vanishing around her? She doesn't have to mention the shadows in Every single scene to spell it out...like pls use your brain...

Sarah has been consistent for 16 books: magic between love interests interacts it sings, dances, plays together. Azriel’s shadows are an extension of his emotions. The vanishing isn’t “romantic,” it’s repressive. Trying to spin it into something positive is pure clownery. 🤡

2. “Skittering around” = “skittering back.”

…Reading comprehension where? 😂

Example:

The children are skittering around the Man. (happy, safe)

The children are skittering back from the Man. (danger, avoidance)

See the difference? When shadows skitter around family, it shows safety. When they skitter back from Elain? That’s rejection, discomfort. You’re literally proving our point while thinking you’re clever. Just Google “skittering back” if English is that hard.

3. “If Az trains with Gwyn, it’s SF 2.0. But if Elain trains with him, it’s not.”

This one had me howling. 💀 So training arcs are automatically a Silver Flames copy only if it’s Gwyn? But if it’s Elain suddenly it’s original? Please. That’s not logic, that’s jealousy.

Nesta/Cassian already gave us the training arc. Azriel has already trained Gwyn. The reality is you just want a knockoff of Nessian and a knockoff of Gwynriel. It’s embarrassing at this point.

These points show that side has 0 credibility and how shitty and desperate their theories are so yeah now my trust in my ship has increased

E/riels be like SJM wouldn't write a second big twist in relationships like she did with Feyre×Tamlin/Feysand!! That would be lazy writing!!

1. SJM can and should write whatever the hell she wants to write.

2. What big twist??? No one is waiting for a second big twist on this side, my friends. Feyre was in a literal relationship with Tamlin! Elain isn't and will never be in a relationship with Azriel! There is no big twist.

3. SJM literally said it is OBVIOUS who Az will end up with, are you kidding me? Not them saying Feysand was obvious from the start when back then there was a huge discussion about who Feyre was gonna end up with. Many people believed it would be Tamlin and many people believed it would be Rhysand and the fandom was as divided as it is now. It's kinda hilarious that they mentioned this point tbh. "Feysand didn't come out of nowhere", yeah, neither does Gwynriel.

Us: Why would Sarah imply it when she stated it a few pages later.

Us: You may think that but Sarah states it in later pages when Azriel is talking with Gwyn. That she settled him, and even calmed his shadows. So even if you think she implied it with Elain she pointed a big neon sign at it with Gwyn and Azriel.

Us: Furthermore before he flys up to the House of Wind he shuts himself down. Let’s the frost in his vains match the air around him, until he felt nothing, was nothing. Then interacts with Gwyn who settles him, makes him smile, and makes him laugh. And then the next day even with sadness in his eyes he smiles at the vision of Gwyn’s face lite up with joy. In that bonus chapter both times he’s been sad and shut down it’s Gwyn that brings him out of it and makes him smile.

Us: Yeah yall should stop using the bonus chapter as evidence for e|riel. It’s far more stronger for Gwyn and Azriel. Lust does not make a couple endgame in Sarah’s books, and that’s all that bonus showed for Elain and Azriel, while it showed actual mating language for Gwyn and Azriel.

I can keep going but I hope you get the point that under no fucking instance does Lucien enacting a blood duel fit his character. He is the most selfless character is this series and how anyone could call him a fucking coward is beyond me. Maybe try reading with nuance and understanding the character yall speak ill of on behalf of Azriel who hasn’t even done half as much. And stop acting like Elain needs saving from him when he’s been nothing but respectful to her and the most respectful mate we’ve seen. Get it together.

Lucien was the one to say to get her out of that house.

Lucien was the one to say take her to a garden-somewhere she would love.

Lucien was the one who told them she needed sunshine.

Sure, he may not have immediately recognized Elain was a seer. But he sure in the fuck didn’t sit by for months and not bat an eyelash at Elain withering away.

Azriel didn’t figure out what was wrong with her. He only pointed out her powers. And even then—Lucien was the one to take her visions seriously and put faith in her. Just like Lucien has been the only one to credit Elain for killing Hybern.

No, Azriel does not see or understand Elain anymore than anyone else in the inner circle.

Lucien does though.

And it’s no coincidence that when Lucien came is when Elain started getting better.

Because he’s her mate. Something Az will never be. Just like he was the one to spend time with Papa Archeron. Something Az never did. Coincidence? I think not.
