Took a sample of this corrosive glowing fungus found within Crypt Nostoc. It appears to be sprouting from below; what is it feeding on in this place?

Found a SET Engineer's log. Extremely interesting. Want to read all their Crypt research immediately. If nothing they do is suspect, why is this not made public? I want to know everything they know. What is Red-Strata, Star-Strata, Wrench-Strata? Crypt Nostoc has some of the most advanced technology SET engineers have ever seen. Crypt Nostoc is more self-repairing than any other Crypt they have explored: but they do not repair their main generator, and maintain other damage, as our team has seen. This Crypt has been frozen in some specific physical state that the Cryptkeepers are preserving.
