Hahaha I know! They’re not THAT incompetent, I just kinda imagined Takumi stressing over Nokia starting a fire or Arata cooking something that looks like anything but food lol. When they successfully turned off the fire, Yuuko already ate everything in the fridge.

"Yeah. I remember this" Arata alluded to his own wisdom teeth's extraction as he closed the door behind him. "Kyoko told me to look after you so here I am" 

Once he was sitting on the bed next to the young detective, he stretched his legs and sought for the other's hand, intertwining their fingers. "She didn't have to ask" A mild smile curved his lips before he gave Takumi's cheek a fast peck. "So when are ya supposed to take the medicine?"

Takumi shrugged. “He was a little fussy when Date was carrying him. Masayoshi said babies like constant motion, so…?” Honestly, when the detectives handed the baby over to him, he felt like anybody could have done what he did with the right advice… Kyoko threw in her own empirical advice, but it had yet to prove relevant.

“The bookstore sounds good! It’d be a quiet, relaxed place for Shin-chan, anyhow.” Arata came up with some really good ideas, even when he wasn’t particularly looking for them.

Without hesitation, he hefted the bundle on one arm, reaching his second hand to grasp Arata’s. “Let’s go!”

"...Shin-chan? Seriously?" No time to inquire about such a peculiar way to call the baby, as Takumi seemed oddly excited. He just let his boyfriend take his hand and lead the way to the bookstore. A few gazes fell upon them as they walked, but Arata just sighed. The young detective displayed himself bright and lively as ever.

The road to the bookstore was short, and he didn't waste any time before immersing himself in books and manga hunting. "Hey, here's a section with fairy tale books for kids. Maybe you'd want to get one for Shin, y'know, so he has a reminder of his improvised caretaker. Heh, I bet it'll be a funny story when he gets old enough to read and his parents tell him about that time he ended up in a shady Detective Agency..."

“Oh, I’m sorry…” Takumi would have liked to of spent more time with Arata, but it wasn’t as though he could leave a baby by its lonesome. “Do you want to just walk around Broadway for a bit?” He suggested. “We could probably get a bite at the family restaurant, if you’re hungry.” He just hoped it wouldn’t be too noisy for the baby…

At the question, Takumi cocked his head curiously. “What makes you say that?” He didn’t think he was doing anything special… “I haven’t babysat anyone before. Not until today, that is.”

"I mean, he's a small baby who was separated from his mom, yet somehow you handle him well enough so that he doesn't cry... He's even laughing." Arata sighed at Takumi's oblivious face. 

"I suppose some people are born with unusual talents... I'm not hungry, but I kinda wanted to visit the bookstore" For a moment, he pictured how carrying a baby through a place filled with people would be a little weird. "Well, you can say he's your cousin or something"

"Have you taken care of children before? You seem to know what you're doing"

"I, um, saw a few of these in your bedroom the other day, so I thought you liked them? I-I'm sorry for giving you a store gift when you made something for me with your own hands..." Now this was very strange. Arata was acting unusually shy, and all because this was the first time he put some effort into Valentine's day. He looked away, trying to hide his blush from Takumi, scratching the back of his head.

Takumi couldn’t help his pouting expression. “You keep mentioning my body like I’m not right here?” He was still skeptical of what the other was telling him. “Am I supposed to be a ghost?” He did mention Eden alot… He couldn’t possibly meant biblical Eden, right?

Nope. Nope, nope, nope! Not going to think about that. Takumi was stressed and anxious enough. He didn’t need more craziness plopped right on top of it.

One thing was sure, though… Takumi did need help. As it stood, he had very little choice but to follow Arata around for a little longer. Which? Might prove difficult, if he chose to disappear off the side of the room?? “What?!”

Takumi dashed to the platform, checking it warily. Arata was just standing there, he was sure. But he was absolutely gone. This had to be some kind of weird trick… it had to be. Right?

Swallowing back his fear, he tentatively stepped onto the platform. In a flash of light, he found himself in an entirely new place! “Woah!” The redhead exclaimed, looking about. “Where are we now? How did we get here?”

"This is an open forum in EDEN's public area. People chat about news, movies, music and all that unimportant stuff here, but it's mostly used by people from abroad to keep in touch with their friends" Arata explained quietly, making sure to not draw attention. He shoved his hands in his pockets and took a look at the place. "Seems like something interesting happened. This is a small forum, so normally there aren't as many people here. Maybe you should go and ask them for the date and time, seeing how you don't remember anything... they'll probably think you're a weirdo, though"

The hacker wondered how much time those Kamishiro scientists had erased from his memories. Perhaps many days or even weeks? He could've explained those things to Takumi, but the boy wouldn't have believed him, so he supposed it was better to leave the task in another person's hands.

"I-I can't..." Time passed by as he raised the speed and boldness of his movement inside the tight, hot zone, and it was made pretty evident he couldn't contain himself for much more. Takumi sighed, rubbing his face. Talking to this guy was exhausting. “I don’t know anything about what you’re talking about. I don’t understand what you’re saying!” Takumi couldn’t comprehend what EDEN was or how it functioned. He’d never heard of it until Arata started talking to him about it. He was lost and in a strange place, and didn’t know what to do.

“Are you telling me you’re gonna keep me prisoner?” Takumi was scandalized. How did a visit to a doctor’s office suddenly become a hostage situation? “Who cares if you’re a hacker? You’ll catch more trouble for kidnapping me!”

Worried now, Takumi checked his surroundings. He wasn’t apt to stick around if Arata was determined to lock him up and keep saying strange things. There had to be a door or a window somewhere… This place was so weird…

Arata couldn't help but laugh a little at Takumi's panicked look. But even though it was fun to tease him, the guy was in some serious trouble. Arata stopped laughing to think about it for a moment. Takumi had his memory dangerously altered, if he didn't remember simple stuff... probably he didn't have anyone to help him. And the boy definitely needed some help.

"Look kid, as much as I don't want trouble, I can't just keep you here. You must have a real body somewhere, and it could be risky for it to remain there without disconnecting. Besides, I don't wanna hear you complaining and fretting all day"

He crossed arms and closed eyes, thinking again. "Well, let's do this. You don't seem any different from a common EDEN avatar, so it should be safe for you to explore a bit. We're going to visit some of EDEN's public areas, so you can see it with your own eyes and stop believing I'm trying to con you" Arata walked toward the access point near the leftmost part of the room. "Follow me" He ordered as he stood on the round structure built on the floor. A flashing light covered his presence, taking him to a public, spacious forum, with around twenty people chatting lively.
