daldeoksu ;
it’s been years and he knows he shouldn’t, there’s a line drawn immediately between them and he can feel the tension constrict. he shouldn’t be showing such care, a consideration he no longer should be able to feel but he does because that’s who he was. despite all his fickleness, his kindness knows no bounds and it’s there on his sleeve for all to see. and for this instance, for seora. watching with apprehensive hues at the way she tips and the smile she dons and he knows something is wrong. years have faded them but he knows still too much, too little – all the wrongs he’s done her and he wears them brazenly because he can’t ever really hide from them.
no matter what, they’d always be there.
history would always know what he did, no one better than seora. his guilt had consumed him once before and though this comes as no sentiment for repetence, he offers her his sights, although wary of crossing a line he no longer was able to tiptoe.
“i’m sorry, your highness. i was just concerned.”
she doesn’t wish to listen to a single word he says. because if she were to listen to closely, she would fool herself into thinking that he stilled cared. and perhaps the male truly did still care for her. after all, he still held a spot in her heart, one that she would never give to anyone else.
it was the fact that he didn’t deserve to care for her. not anymore, and definitely not now. she was no fool, but for choi deoksu, it seemed she was nothing but a fool. allowing herself to act on these foolish thoughts would only hurt her further. and while she was never one to truly wear her heart on her sleeve, the alcohol coursing through her system urged her to give her heart a break. to allow it to breathe in some fresh air, to display it for everyone to see.
let him see what he’s done. like a devil on her shoulder, her thoughts push her to hurt him. to see a brief look of pain flicker across his face would satisfy her, at least that what she believes. yet deep down she knows that it will do nothing. acting upon the bitterness she feels would be disastrous for not only her, but everyone involved.
the heart wants what the heart wants. that’s what she told herself on those nights she felt herself losing control. but even now as she repeats it like a broken record, she struggles to keep the sharp words from leaving her lips. “your concern is no longer befitting upon me. do well to remember that.”
because no matter what it was, it seemed her heart would never get what it wanted.
what once was that will never be

yi seora was once filled with the essence of love itself, a princess who had nothing but kind smiles and words dressed in warmth for those she interacted with. but the world wore down on her, seeming to enjoy holding the female down by her shoulders.
but even if she faltered at times and felt as if there was nothing left in the world for her, yi hyojin would be there to remind her that perhaps life wasn’t as horrible as she thought it to be. even with his loud and boisterous attitude, always seeming to have a smile pulling on his lips, seora enjoyed his company.
as she was today. there were times when he caused her grief, as he was now. the tug on the back of her hanbok knocks her out of her thoughts and it’s enough for her to know it was her brother. after all, no one would ever dare bother the princess. because no one was as brave as yi hyojin when it came to his sister.
she turns around quickly, her eyes sharp and calculating as she gazes towards her brother. they were alone and she was no fool. though and the faux innocence he so proudly displays is enough to tell her he is at fault.
“yi hyojin, do you wish to see another day?” her threat is lighthearted, a playful smile dancing on her lips. he was her favorite. and she was very much so wrapped around his finger.
thin line
@haeseora
it wasn’t unusual for hyojin to do stuff like this, being annoying. especially towards his older sister. they were close, really close and the prince appreciated everything she ever did for him, but at times, he went overboard. today was a very good example of his general interaction towards her. being loud was always one of his traits and people were quick to notice, even his way of walking was over the top, his voice heard from far away.
however, there were times when he knew how to stay put and be quiet. stealthy so to say. he was walking not so far behind seora, keeping his distance before finally taking a large step. hyojin’s foot placing right on top of the hanbok that was being dragged the princess. and it pulled her into a stop, a huge grin splitting the boy’s face in half as he quickly lifted his foot, as if that would take the blame off him once she turned around.
#haehyojin#ysr.rp#hyojin.001#hyojin.thin line#lets enjoy some playful banter before they start fighting lol

“ don’t you believe there’s someone for everyone?”
a royal wedding ; accepting.
the urge to glare at the male bubbles up in her chest. a feeling of self-loathing appearing like an uninvited guest, demanding to be let into her heart. and she allows it to fester, finding it easier to hate herself than to ever hate the male that presented the question.
why? why was it so difficult for seora to let him go? it had been years, and he had moved on perfectly fine. yet there’s a room in her heart, with the memories they made. each one sitting prettily on the walls, surrounded by thin golden frames. and even if she were to take them down, there’s no way she could ever forget. although she so desperately wished to.
some nights she would wake up in a cold sweat, praying to be anything but alone. wishing that she could be with him. sometimes she wonders, if she were to spend her time with someone else, would it be easier to forget? though it seemed that she could spend her whole life getting over choi deoksu.
if we hadn’t been at all; who would i be? she’s tempted to ask the question, knowing well that she wanted to cause him just a bit of torment. because perhaps she would be happier, she would still have her fantasies of true love to cling onto. but that was cruel. and to do so would only cause her to hate herself more.
“no, i do not.” after all, the only person she once believed to be hers was no longer hers.

“ you look beautiful.”
a royal wedding ; accepting.
“thank you.” it’s the only thing she can offer to the female. a bitter taste resides in her mouth, she should return the compliments. after all deokhye was always beautiful. but perhaps her shattered relationship with her brother was playing heavily into the fact that she couldn’t.
she refused to. seora had worked so hard to forget deoksu, even though the male held some of her happiest memories with him. she wished to have nothing to do with it. or him. but she knew well that the siblings were two different people. and it was wrong of her to even push the bitterness onto the younger female. after all, it was seora at fault.
“you do as well.”

“ well? how do i look?”
a royal wedding ; accepting.
“as you always do,” if she could, she would laugh at the male, the question feeling a bit ridiculous. the royal children always looked perfect, not a single strand of hair out of place. it was to be expected of them, even when the stress of the world seemed to be placed upon their shoulders, they were to never let show.
even now, as seora watches her sister get married ( to a man she suspects that she doesn’t even love, because they were never lucky enough to be married for love ) she feels that there will never be a moment for her and her siblings to truly be themselves. but it doesn’t matter to anyone else but them. after all, they were blessed to be born of such high status.
“absolutely handsome.”

" i was so enjoying the silence."
a royal wedding ; accepting.
“it’s unfortunate we can’t bask in it more often.” and there were no words spoken truer. the commotion that came along with a wedding was overwhelming, and it was a royal wedding no less. it was bound to be loud and demanding of attention.
but seora only had so much energy to expend. in fact, she found herself tired already, her cheeks hurting from the polite smiles that was required of her. “don’t you wish to you could just run away from it all?”
she doesn’t mean for the question to slip. the thought was supposed to be buried deep in her heart, it was nothing that needed to be known. how much she loathed the royal lifestyle she lived. and it was certainly no thoughts fit for a wedding.
“forgive me, that was out of line, wasn’t it?”

“ you look beautiful.”
a royal wedding ; accepting.
the words cause her chest to swell with warmth, only because she knows that ruihan is genuine with her words. they are not spoken as a formality, but as a genuine statement. and it causes seora to smile, a soft smile that was reserved for those she cherished.
“thank you,” her words hold more meaning than ruihan could even grasp. seora had lost her enjoyment for weddings long ago, finding the union between two people to be one that was ruined. all the romantic fantasies she once had reduced to nothing but ash, blown away by the bitterness that resided in her once joyful heart.
however, ruihan always seemed to remind seora that there was still hope, perhaps not for her, but for others. “as do you my dearest.” in fact, seora couldn’t remember a single time where ruihan didn’t look stunning. as if it was physically impossible for the girl to look anything but beautiful.

“ i need to be somewhere else.”
a royal wedding ; accepting.
“do you?” there’s a twinge of surprise that coats her words, her eyes looking at the male suspiciously. of course there was a reason he said this, but seora was never one to pry. she knew better than to push for answers that she wouldn’t get. only due to the fact that she harbored her own secrets, her heart aching every second this wedding went on. after all, she no longer believed in true love like she once did.
“shall i create an alibi for you? all you need do is ask.” the concerns melts into her words as she gazes at the male, knowing she’d do nearly anything to keep her royal siblings happy and safe.

“ it looks like you’ve had enough to drink.”
a royal wedding ; accepting.
“don’t overstep our boundaries. it’s not appropriate.” her words are soft and curt, enough for her to create a distance between them. that’s what she needed. enough distance to calm her racing heart. perhaps she had drank too much. she could feel the warmth crawling up her neck, encasing her in it’s fuzzy claws and creating a film over her thoughts.
but it wasn’t in her nature to create that distance and not even the alcohol in her system would give her the courage needed to do so. “i’ll keep your worries in mind.” she gives him a tightlipped smile, knowing it’s all she can offer.

sevlhae ;
seul lowers the cup further, allowing it to sit gently on the plate before her. her eyes lower, brows furrowing - of course she wants to be married. she’s been waiting on this for years, but still, the man she wishes to be married to hasn’t yet entreated his father for her hand. “ i don’t think we can hope to wish that we won’t be married, sister. it will happen one day, whether we like it or not.” the answer is political - and decidedly neutral, not really giving much away about her own feelings on the matter. ( something else she’s been taught, too. women shouldn’t have an opinion. ) “ you don’t wish to be?”
why wouldn’t i question marriage? the question rests on the tip of her tongue. perhaps it was the snatching of her lover that had so much to do with her skepticism of the union of two people. or at least that’s what she liked to believed could be the cause of it.
the fact of the matter was that it had everything to do with. it made her so extremely bitter. it was obvious that seora was desperately in love with the male at the time. there were rumors of a betrothal between her lover and she. but when the announcement came and seora was not the princess to be married off; the gossip intensified.
maybe there’s something wrong with princess seora? maybe he never even loved her and begged the king to marry him off? a love triangle amongst the royals? every word muttered along the corridors of the palace only fueled the bitterness she held.
“i don’t believe there’s room for love amongst the royals.” the words are soft, almost as if she’s afraid to say them. as if she doesn’t wish to believe its true either. because what’s the point of marriage without love? she knew the answer to that as well. power. connections. anything but love.
but was she wrong? she was nearly positive that her bothers and sisters weren’t born because their parents were so devastatingly in love. they were born from pure attraction and lust, love rarely ever coming into play. she was foolish, for ever hoping to find love with in the palace walls.
it hurt her heart to even think that her siblings would never get to marry the one they loved because they didn’t fit the king’s standards. the thought that seul, oh sweet seul, would get her heart broken just as she had because of the king and his ways tore her apart.
it was hard for seora to have such dark thoughts with her sister’s curious gaze upon her. and so she willed the thoughts away of the younger female ever getting her heartbroken. she’d take a lifetime of heartbreak if it meant that seul was able to be happy.
she schools her face into one of contemplation as if regretting the words she spoke earlier. “oh no, i do wish to be married.” if it were to prevent at least one of my siblings from being married off without loving the other. her fingers drum against the cup in her hand, the only telltale sign of her thoughts going haywire.
“but aren’t i getting a bit old? i doubt i’m by any means a top candidate to be married anymore.”
curious and curiouser ;

dalsoojung ;
“your highness,” she greets seora playfully, since they’re past using honorifics at this point. “how may i be of help?”
the corners of her lips curl into a soft smile, the presence of the female already doing wonders for her dampened mood. the playful of her greeting doesn’t fall on deaf ears and seora is perplexed as to how return such playful gesture.
“my dearest companion,” she starts, unable to bite back the laugh that spills past her lips at such formal words. “i don’t believe i need much reason to call upon a precious friend.”
and there are no words truer spoken.
she pats the spot next to her, prompting the female to join her side. her gaze towards her maid, her eyes begging for a bit of privacy between the two. and she’s granted it easily. after all, not many people ever told seora no. being denied what she wanted was an unfamiliar thing to her.
but it’s not like she always got what she wanted, the thought of her ex-lover bringing bitterness onto her tongue. with a soft sigh, she returns her gaze to her female friend. “how have you been, hm?”
just keep breathing ;

And yet, the question prevails, still there, still dancing, still poking and the more he leaves it to grow there, the more it gains in seriousness. So, even though he’s shattering the peaceful quiet that had fallen upon them, he speaks it out loud with a laugh: “Say, your highness, if guards of your palace were to find out I kidnap you like this, would I be imprisoned or rather beheaded directly?”
seora never understands how he manages this. every time, without a fail, hyeon is able to draw her out from the palace. all that’s needed is his charming smile and a small promise that it’ll be an enjoyable time for the both of them and she’s on her feet.
even now as they’re surrounded by a thin silence, seora finds that she’s enjoying it. the telltale signs of a smile appears on her lips, the corners curling up ever so slightly. it’s not only his presence that she enjoys, but the scenery that surrounds them is favorable to her.
the white snow, blanketing over the gardens. a pure white that fills her heart with warmth despite the cold air that nips at her skin. after all, winter was seora’s favorite season.
his laughter catches her attention, her eyes watching the tendrils of warm air leave his lips. the question is ridiculous, but she expected no less from the male, perhaps that’s why she finds herself playing along. "i believe it would be imprisonment, torture and then the beheading- in that order,” she muses, a look of thought flitting across her usual stoic countenance.
“however it could hardly be considered kidnapping if i willing accompanied you.” soft laughter spills between the confines of her fingers as they hide a wide smile. her attention does not stray from the male, her bright eyes shining playfully. “but perhaps i’ll forget to mention that if they do happen to find us.”
