i honestly think about this every now and then but i'm afraid to add on because i already have my wip addict!ryujin fic along others then my grafitti!byler fic i'm working on atm. i am afraid!

siren sayeon x sea pirate ryujin except i know little to nothing about sirens or sea pirates (sorry)

ok so let me set the stage rq. this is NOT an accurate portrayal of sirens or pirates

WARNING: mentions of cannibalism

samin goes out everyday killing humans so she can bring them home to feed her little sister. and sayeon is fine with this because essentially, eating humans for her is like us eating chicken (unless you're a vegan or something).

so, sayeon lives happily with samin until one day, she meets a human girl (i think her name is jugyeong). they get along, have fun together, become friends, all that jazz until the human girl's father comes along. he starts to get suspicious of what kind of person his daughter's friend is, seeing as they only hang out around the sea and he has only catched glimpses of her. so he decides to get her alone to try and talk to her.

samin finds out, decides it's about time sayeon learns how to catch a fish, and kills him in front of her yada yada yada. sayeon isn't fine with it this time though. despite the fact she hasn't ever actually talked to him until now, this was a person she had known about. they were extremely close to someone she cared for. it would be messed up to just EAT HIM after that.

so, sayeon runs away. she leaves and doesn't go back, but also absolutely REFUSES to eat humans since now she seems them as actual people with minds of their own. so what does she do? she starves because sirens can't go vegetarian. she needs some sort of human meat to live, but also doesn't want to kill someone just so she could eat. eventually, her will to not kill anyone whittled down over time the longer she went without food, but she had lost her strength quicker.

meanwhile, sea pirate ryujin has quite the crisis of her own. her entire family had died due to a siren attack, and she hasn't really known what to do since then. she wants revenge, but how? sirens come to YOU, not the other way around. the ocean is a huge place; it'd take her a lifetime to find the one who had killed her family. getting revenge was practically impossible, and ryujin wasn't stupid enough to not know that.

but what else is left for her?

and that's when they meet.

sayeon on the verge of starving to death under a tree while ryujin stares down at her.

on her own time on the verge of a mental breakdown. it was over the moment she took an enneagram test. she didn't like the results, lets say. she hasn't touched on it since.

this feels so obvious it practically goes without saying, but when taking personality tests, sayeon definitely chooses the answers that would give her the results she wants/what she thinks a good person would say instead of going with what actually matches her personality

ngl yes this does go without saying. like. i think of mbti and i think of sayeon and i think of the fact that she would answer falsely, just the answers that make her look like a MODEL CITIZEN!

shrug, it’d be easy to answer that it was myopia, but that’s nearsightedness. she is farsighted… and i have no background on this,,,,,,,,

edit: my background on nearsightedness is that i am very nearsighted. legally blind infact, imagine it being illegal to drive without glasses/contacts!

This idea in particular is really intriguing, the godling exchanges humanity for power. The definition of humanity itself is already subjective, but the prospect that it could also be gained (or returned) through other means (like childbirth) adds more stakes to the exchange. Like... do I have to give that up too or?
