If we elect a democrat in 2028, we are not going to be up and running by 2032.

Please make sure you have a reminder in your phone reminding you to not look at 2028/32/36 Democratic candidates and say "why are they not promising/delivering Cool Shit?" because you are going to understand that to get Cool Shit we must have competent people running a decently funded government, and we are not going to have that.

We are not getting UBI. We are not getting single payer healthcare. We are not getting free college or free preschool. We are not redistributing wealth on a large scale. We are not getting free internet. We are not getting ranked choice voting.

Love is so romanticized and I fucking hate it

but at the same time, I get it. Like, romance is genuinely a very comforting concept. But I wish romance wasn't the only type of love portrayed in most media, since it most definitely is not the only type of love in existence.

It makes real life confusing sometimes. I'll want to smooch my bros and cuddle sometimes, but that doesn't make it romantic. I do like intimacy but like, friendly intimacy. Before I discovered the term "Aro" I thought that meant I liked everyone, which means I thought I was pan/bi. And I am, don't get me wrong, but not on the romantic scale.

One of the reasons why I like shows like Doctor Who and Lost Girls is because love in a platonic (or secret third thing) is portrayed, and calling it romantic would be diminishing what it actually is. Something beyond the flesh, beyond the standards of "romantic love", beyond understanding-almost. That's the type of love I wish was portrayed more, not something that stops or begins at romance.

anyway, I watched episode one. I about died. It reminds me of Clue, but also it kinda feels like a telenovela.

I actually put on the Spanish dub track for that reason.

It actually put me in the mood to watch Spy x Family again, so now I am back watching that too.

I still gotta see the first episode of Guilty Gear.

Lazarus looks pretty cool. They spent the first episode telling you why they guy is involved in this group looking for this miracle drug, and then having a bunch of cool ass shit happen.

Some people are saying the plot is weak. . . . .it's one episode. . . .

. . . but you know how it is, Adult Swim's track record with original anime is garbage, so people are suspicious. Every comment thread is "please don't be Ninja Kamui". I didn't see Ninja Kamui. I'm kinda taking everyone's word, though.

Allegedly, Watanabe maybe wanted to do something like Space Dandy, but the [as] people told him "we want something more serious" (and well, I kinda do too, but hey. . . ). Did they try to make it as Bebop as possible?? I mean, as possible without giving Yoko Kanno a call.

I don't really ask that much, eh? Just don't take place in a fucking school and don't ship every character in the god damn show. Hell, the one guy straight up LEFT school.

Anyway, just waiting for the official Gundam premiere (don't know how much they stuck in that movie, but considering the movie doesn't show up on MAL or AniList or anything like that, I don't know).

I went to the Gundam GQux pop-up in Times Square last weekend. I'm a bit shocked how all out they're going here for what is essentially a "Gainax Gundam". I hope this is good. There's ways it could go horribly wrong, but my fingers are crossed.

okay, it's kind of weird to have this many shows I wanna give a shot at this point in time.

Gundam Gquax, I watched the beginning in a movie theater.

I mean come on now, Gainax Gundam?!?!

I don't know how Guilty Gear is gonna be, but I gotta watch at least 3 eps of it.

Moonrise is a Netflix show, and actually kinda sounds like Starship Troopers. Hiromu Full Metal Alchemist Arakawa designed the characters, but Tow Psycho Pass 2 Ubukata is writing it (I mean, he wrote the 3rd season too...so who knows?).

Nazotoki? it seems to not be shounen atall atall atall, and I have to see at least one episode. Allegedly a comedy. interesting. may or may not be in the mood. (I was watching SpyxFamily and enjoying it and then suddenly was just not in the mood and haven't been for 2 whole years at this point and now season 3 is coming in the fall and i never quite got to season 2 😅)
