a big part of it came from a personal goal I set for myself as a comic creator:

Finish the goddamn story

I read some advice early on that a lot of people quit (or keep restarting) their stories when things get hard and because of that, they never learn how to actually end a story

that really stuck with me, so when making my stories -- even when I hit rough patches-- I try to power through

I’d rather learn by stumbling than aim for perfection and never finish

Hello, I really love your comics and artwork. I wanted to ask a few questions about the topic of Vetis being a teenage parent.

As a writer and artist, has it been difficult exploring this narrative?

Are there any obstacles you've faced during this creative procress?

And, if you're comfortable sharing, did/does something inspire you to follow this story through?

AAHH thank you for your kind words anon! 1-2) Difficulty/obstacles: honestly not really, as Bloom and Zoom is a deliberately lighthearted comedy series, so I didn’t go deep into the weight of Vetis being a teen dad if I'd wanted to explore it more seriously-- like how it affected his school life, relationships, or how Luci might feel knowing his bio mom gave up parental rights (or even, for a more realistic spin, if she was still in the picture) -- then I might've faced the same problem I faced in Your Wings and Mine: figuring out how to show the gravity of a situation without making the story too heavy for readers to want to stick around 3) Inspiration:

while brainstorming how to build Uriel and Vetis, I read a Reddit thread where people were talking about having sex as middle schoolers

I was shook, thinking about what I was doing at that age (and given that it's reddit, people might've lied or exaggerated, but still)

that kind of shock stuck with me, and I ended up channeling it into Vetis’ backstory

I'm sketching some pages for a new series as if I'm not gonna have to line all this myself

Yk that one episode when general buer reminded luci of him dancing to some magical girl anime as a kid made me think how does inferno have tvs better yet how did luci watch the anime since luci is hundred of years old how can he as a kid watch smth from the 90’s which also made me think how did luci even become this obsessed with anime
