/casually scoots a cup of coffee towards her/

breaking the coffee machine definitely wasn’t going to win her any points with anyone in the institute but, it’s not her fault the machine seems intent on making her homicidal. all she wants is coffee, strong and wonderful coffee because it’s too early and she hasn’t slept and she just had a fight with her mom and the one thing that can make it better is coffee and yet a stupid piece of technology is stopping her, the intelligent, badass shadowhunter…of freaking course.

olivia must be being louder than she thinks; banging against the machine and threatening it with bodily harm because suddenly simon is in the room, eyes wide, seemingly expecting more than olivia standing there in pajamas, hair in a messy bun on top of her head threatening the coffee machine like it was a dangerous demon,

‘ to be fair the machine was really baiting me and it should’ve known better than to get between a shadowhunter and her caffeine. it’s not like i’m crazy or anything, i mean sure i think the machine knows on a level that it’s being a dick but, not on a robots and machines are coming to life to enslave us all level because that would just be crazy and i mean sure most shadowhunters are a little crazy but, not that crazy. ’

simon stares at her for a moment and she knows that look but, it fades quickly as he nods and moves around the kitchen and it’s her turn to stare at him for a moment, blowing a stray lock of dark hair that had fallen out of her bun before sitting on the counter,

‘ i blame my mom for this, she let me have coffee as soon as i could becuase she said she’d rather have me hooked on caffeine rather than some fairie drug or something which is crazy because sure sometimes fae food, certain drinks are fun but, what kind of shadowhunter gets addicted to fairie drugs, caffeine and a stamina rune are enough for me. i just haven’t been sleeping much lately and i had a fight with my mom and things just seem to be gearing up for the worst around here so i thought coffee, coffee fixes things or at i can pretend coffee fixes things for a while but, the stupid machine has decided to pile on my already no good very bad morning and i know it’s pathetic and i should be able to function without coffee but, i don’t really have a lot of vices you know ? most shadowhunters don’t and i figure coffee’s a simple one that won’t hurt anyone. ’

simon stops what he’s doing and she pauses to look down at the coffee in front of her, staring at it for a moment, almost confused before a surprised almost laugh escapes her, a grateful smile on her lips as she wraps her hands around the mug, 

‘ thank you..i mean not just for the coffee, thanks uh for letting me vent like a crazy person and not calling me a crazy person…you’re a good guy, simon…i should probably go get ready, things to do, demons to kill but, really thanks. ’ 

olivia slides off the counter, coffee in hand as she leans forward to press her lips to his cheek for a moment before pulling back, raising the coffee in his direction before leaving the kitchen.

i slept in mega late because i got up too early and then went back to sleep because i’m horrible but, now i’m here for about two hours before i have to shower and go shopping feel free to hit me up for things, ask for my skype or discord or whatever if you want it !!
