Do you ever have those moments when you’re in a crowd and you can’t really tell who you are or what’s really important to you?

Yugi didn’t mind being the person to supply the snacks. If all else failed they could always order in or go out and grab a quick bite from somewhere nearby. He wasn’t too worried about it. Rather, he was just happy to have some time to spend with the other man. 

“Weeeeell...” he laughed and rubbed the back of his head. Ryou had a point and all he could really do was laugh at the truth of it as he followed his friend into the kitchen. 

His expression softened when Ryou started speaking of the high-school days. In some ways he missed it dearly but in other ways... everything they had been through, and looking back at it now? How insane it all was. From it came lifelong bonds and memories he would cherish forever but also probably some mental scarring. Ryou had that worse and Yugi couldn’t help but empathize. He just really wanted the man to be alright, to be happy, to have those days locked away in his past.

“There’s always some room for reckless abandon,” he chuckled and pulled out a beer from his bag with a casual wave that the other can of course help himself. He took a sip and set the drink down on the table. “Wow, that’s so awesome though! How long will you be there for?”

He took another drink and tipped his head. “Well, aah.. It’s alright. I need to work a little more on my character designs.” He’d just gotten reamed for it, ahaha. Woops.

Yugi was excited to spend the night hanging out with Ryou. It had been awhile since their last proper hang out and the rest of the gang was off living their own life tonight. Jounochi had a date. Anzu wasn’t even in the country. Some people were working overtime. He didn’t mind. Yugi cherished every friend he had but Ryou was probably the only one he could listen to Cannibal Corpse with while playing D&D, or having a horror marathon (even if he did often get scared).

The young man decided to pick up some drinks and some snacks before he made it to his friends door frowning only temporarily at how he should have checked the weather before he decided to wear torn up jeans. Oh well, he’d be inside soon.

Fingers knocked on that familiar door with a smile.

He could barely remember a single day of his life without Anzu. They'd been friends for so long and Grandpa kept bugging him to enter a tournament and visit her overseas. Which was... embarrassing... but it was Grandpa. He was just really happy to see her. "Well, uh. I don't know much about dresses. Isn't there one of those pop-up halloween stores nearby? I remember passing it, I think."

“Well, I mean if you want. I still need to buy a dress.” She wasn’t used to being asked out by her best friend so it was something she needed to get adjusted to, but she was secretly really excited to go with Yugi.

It wasn't often that you came across someone possessed with ancient spirits indeed. Although he missed him, missed him dearly, but.. that was another matter. Moving on! Bakura was a special friend for more than just that. Maybe it was just that they were both a little strange only Yugi... Well... Hid it better.

He smiled and raised his hand in that traditional awkward wave. Graciously the man bowed his head and dipped inside with a laugh.

"I didn't even mean to!' He chuckled. "Got caught up in last minute changes to the game I'm designing and didn't check the weather." After his shoes were removed he stood up and offered Bakura the bag of drinks and snacks.

"How've you been? It really does feel like months, doesn't it? We're all so busy now." But it was awesome. Awesome to see all his friends growing up. He was excited to see where they would all end up.

It was a little to early to go to one of his favorite game cafes so he would choose the next best thing. There was this little restaurant that was a lot like an American greasy spoon. They made a wicked coffee and the music was pretty cool.
