toby fox's music is so amazing; not just for the fact that he consistently makes bangers, but also for the fact his characters' themes are always perfect for them in specific.

to use the example that's been on my tv-loving mind the most lately: it's tv time! is just so perfectly tenna in audio form. it's big and cheery and bright, just like tenna himself; it's entertainment on your screen, it's fun and it's funky and it's as fast-paced as the battle it plays during.

but it's also got that undertone of desperation, those ominous sections, because the man is desperate; desperate to keep the attention he's been deprived of for so long now that he's got it back at last, desperate to give his best and prove he's still got it, desperate to do what he said he'd do for the knight (because we all know what happens to tenna as soon as he stops doing what he said he'd do.)

but! it's also so genuinely, wholeheartedly, enthusiastically joyous! because this is a performer finally getting to perform; this is someone whose life is giving others entertainment finally getting to play games and to show shows and to entertain the audience he hasn't gotten to entertain in so long... it sounds happy, even victorious, because at heart there's nothing tenna really wants more than to make others - especially his original viewers - happy; that is a victory for him, it's what he cares about more than anything.

god, it's so good. toby fox is such a talented guy in general, and the music never fails to be top tier stuff; and the fact every character's themes and motifs tell a story like that, express who they are so well, is so impressive.
