Lot of illnesses over here at Castle Nautilus. Half certain it’s some Directorate bioweapon I just happen to be immune to.
It’s really holding up those reports I gotta go through to send to Coromodir, on top of being…gross.
Nobody’s died, but it’s that kind of thing that makes them (and you) wish they had.

Gets worse. It wasn’t a pillow.
It was a little dinosaur toy.
Who let me do that and why?
Unfortunately, I’ve been reminded of a childhood incident.
The milk pillow…
And now I’ve got to go test-fire these new snub PPCs.

Actually, now that I’m looking…
This is some kind of attempt at a Marauder made from Mercury parts, I’m sure of it.
I’m sorry to report that the first inbound HPG in my queue after this kerfuffle (awaiting a full report, we’re trying to figure out what Lady Arano needs to know about it) is very bad news.
The Mako is not a LAM. It is, however, a derivative of the Mercury.

You know, I can see it. Everything that made me think LAM, now that I’m looking, also looks kind of Mercury-ish.
But I wanted an excuse to take piloting courses.

I’m thinking we need to tip the actual Widow off at this point, but no, high command doesn’t want to risk her finding out about Project MANO.
So we grabbed a few weird ‘Mechs out of the Dobrev. Law of salvage applies, even if the Minnesota Tribe somehow ticked her peepaw off and started a blood feud.
If she has a problem with us picking these things apart, tough.
Sitrep:
Things are weird. We’re pretty sure the Directorate doesn’t have anything bigger than a Leopard, but that was definitely a Fortress on the field there.
Really glad we got Nautilus’s drone system back up and running. Got ‘em to burn off those nukes without any real combat losses. Even tricked ‘em into shelling their own assault lance.

It's the Dragoon false-flag that's really bugging me.
Someone's leaking intel to Ibex Rampant. Or Forever Vigilant. Or one of those other groups of dipsticks who don't know the Directorate lost.
They're also shipping them Nautilus 'Mechs. We know this because we're hosing Directorate MechWarriors out of a GRF-2N, SHD-2Hb, WVR-7H, and BSH-2B.
Bushmaster. You don't see a lot of those beauties. They never show up in the TROs.
The opsec situation means I'm probably not going to be sending updates for a bit. And someone will die, I guarantee it.

[OOC]
So, I am kind of shooting in the dark here a bit with the deep family backstory here. But you, dear reader, have probably guessed that Anahera has some kind of Clan Wolverine connection, based purely on the name and her having "331" and a dedication plaque quoting General Order 137 on her Marauder.
It's very unlikely she knows where exactly that came quote from, or ever will know how it ended up on the family 'Mech, and she's not a descendant of Daniel Hammerick. It's a Bordon Hallis situation. Related enough that the Clans would probably try (and fail) to kill her if they realized the connection, and her knowing about Hidden Hope makes it much more likely they would realize it, but she's not a direct Minnesota Tribe descendant.
Talia Hammerick was a relative of Daniel's, who stayed behind after EXODUS and made contact with the Tribe somewhere post-Richmond.
#THE LORE...#clarifying this OOC because it's just not information that anahera has but it is almost certainly of interest#battletech#mechwarrior#battletech oc#battletech rp#mechwarrior oc#mechwarrior rp

Oh, boy. Patrols spotted 'Mechs in tundra camo, no markings, and they might be SLDF models, poking around in visual range of Nautilus.
You know, I think someone was just fucking with us, trying to get our eyes off of somewhere by false-flagging as the Black Widows.
She'd have poked her head up by now. Called us out. I mean, she's not gonna lay siege to a Castle Brian even if she is weirdly pissy about the Dobrev.
But who the hell is gonna burn off Bandits and Badgers on misdirection? They're pretty sweet pieces of kit even for CVs, with those modular racks that I really want them to figure out how to fit onto my Marauder. And Blackwell's got an exclusive contract with the Dragoons, last I checked. They do not sell those to people.
And who'd know that we'd flip out if Kerensky started sniffing around here? This is weird as hell.

The greed of the five Great Houses and the Council Lords is a disease that can only be burned away by the passing of decades, even centuries. And though the fighting may seem to slow, or even cease, it will erupt again as long as there are powerful men to covet one another's wealth.
-General Aleksandr Kerensky's General Order 137, issued 5 December 2785
Man knew what the fuck he was talking about. And I guess Talia Hammerick thought so, too, because she engraved it into a gold plate and bolted it into the cockpit of the family Marauder.
Never been able to find any information on "General Order 137", though, and I always thought that the big man pissed off into the void before then.
