I will forever be fascinated by how kid’s minds work. Today one of the 4 year olds told me that Santa was coming, and when I asked why he was so late, she explained to me that all of his reindeer got shot and he broke his wings (he has wings) and he had to walk here, and stop by the store to pick up the presents and now he has a cough, and he will be here in five minutes, so she had to make him some cough syrup, and THATS why she was vigorously stirring a bowl of wet leaves right now.

And on the other hand yesterday when we were playing in the sand pit and she served me my “drink”, I asked if the little twig in it was the straw and she looked at me like it was the stupidest thing she had ever heard and said “no, that’s a twig.”
