Fletcher Wrap Up

Eight days until Lara’s birthday! Let’s get going!

Hmm. Evidently Cameron could use a vacation day. Hmmmm. Again, I don’t really have any good ideas for him to go to somewhere. ...though actually, perhaps learning some fabrication and other skills in Evergreen Harbor wouldn’t be too bad for him. But that’s another ideas for another time. Don’t feel up for a vacation. Time to go prank someone! To the library! Hey librarian! Time to be pranked! With an air-horn blast to the ear while leaning in close! ...and to add a topper to pranks, might as well prank a toilet and prank the other before I go.

Seems like we have a whim to level up in logic so before we head home, might as well finish that off and his aspiration! It’s why I picked a library to go and prank in the first place. Ohp. Evidently it’s time for Lara to head off to work. And head off she shall go! 97 percent on logic from the research machine!? Ah well. Let’s head on off to the logic plaza. There are Sims hanging out there that we can challenge for chess supremacy ...well we introduced ourselves to Jay Robles, but they left quickly after. Alas! Annnd aspiration done! Did a bit of thinking on what to do next and Geeks tend to like collecting things so before I switch gears into a family aspiration, might as well try the Collector’s aspiration! But for now, bed!

Hmm. Izzy wants to chat with Rhett. That’s...her teacher yeah? Interesting… alright, I’ll bite. Might as well have them meet up somewhere. Uhhhh, not the local library, just came from there. Got adoring sentiment. Welp. Might as well befriend him before getting a munch. He’s Self-Absorbed so I wouldn’t think he’d be a great role model but you do you Izzy. Well, we’re at the Copperdale library. Best way to make friends is to chat and play chess and so we shall do so! Oh my! Billie decided to ask Izzy to the prom! Well well! Let’s do it!

Ooh, we did find out Rhett’s ambitious which I suppose is do to casual chatter. Terrified thanks to the storm though. And there he goes. Welp, we’re still hungry so let’s head home. Let’s see, Lara wants aspiration related stuff, which is homework, which we can’t do until Monday, so let’s just check in on Lara. Annnnd she’s sleepy. Poor Lara. Spotlight does not like you. Bed for you and Izzy.

...so I decided to use the leaning poition on Cameron to carve out the fat, (man wish that was a thing IRL) and OH MY GOD. This outfit suddenly does not work. HA! Anyway, whims related to Charity and telling jokes so off to our local watering hole in town since it’s late at night. Hmm, no satifsying whims so I suppose it’s time to think about aspirations. And thinking about collectables. On the one hand, we do have a spaceship and my immediate thought was Voidcritters but we have an observatory at home. I like the idea of gathering space prints most! Man this day felt like it took forever. I can’t believe it’s only now we get-

And so we continue with Cameron in the observatory. Which we only manage to get one space print before needs kick in and I notice a wind turbine needs repair and whoops! Time to go to bed. Right, Lara’s got work. Let’s get a jog in after eating some ice cream and see if we can’t finally regain passion before heading into work. No? Dang and drat. That fear’s kinda annoying me but ah well. We’ll get it cleared soon enough.

Ahhh, but prom today for Izzy! I’m going to have her try on some clothes and write in her diary about crush! Today’s a very big day after all! Today is the day we get closer to Billie! ...evidently the writing about crush only really increases the writing skill. Dang, was hoping for moodlets. Ah well, I suppose that’s what thinking about crush is for. And that moodlet is flirty so let’s get extra flirty! Get emotionally prepared for Prom! Noooo! I can’t seem to sweetheart or slow dance with Billie! Noooo! At least I can dance and flirt. Oh, voting is up. Might as well vote for Billie as prom jester and...I suppose Tim as Prom Royalty. And just as I finished voting, the announcements began! Annnd Billie won jester! Wooo!

Afterparty time! Annnd immedately Billie jogged elsewhere. Welp. Uh, I guess go to the restroom first Izzy and see where Billie ends up with her jog. Right at the start, sooooo, let’s do a classic! Let’s ride the Ferris wheel with Billie!

I knew what I had to do! Smooch! Smooch! And after some more amorous and steamy lines, I knew how else I needed to finish this. “Messing around” -ahem- on a Ferris Wheel! And now, with teen girls all steamed up, it’s time to finally retreat to bed. At nearly 5AM. MAKING IT TIME FOR-!

Vi Piltover in the Piltover hosuehold is now a Starter in the Professional Athlete career.

Much more respectable career than COP, as I’m sure you’ll all agree.

Well, with Lara being awake at this time, seems like we can finally focus on her for a moment. Especially since she doesn’t have work! And her whims are to be sad and to fish. ...I think it’s finally time for a club gathering! After I garden and make some flowers into a pretty arrangement though! ...or I could just fish in Tartosa. It’s been so long since I’ve been there and I bet it isn’t raining there! Ahh, Tartosa. Such a gorgeous little world. I can’t help it! It’s a personal favorite and pretty much the whole reason I bought the pack in the first place!

We got a crew of a-fish-ionados going on here! Including 2B from the hit game Nier Automata. Should have more random video game characters pop up here and there but how am I to put in the Long Quiet and Princess from Slay the Princess. With great care and Life and Death perhaps. (Though I would give LQ the Shady trait from the recent pack but that’s waaaay down the line) ...also hey, if you want Angelfish, to come Tartosa’s ocean pier! I got two in a row and spotted one of the other fisherman picking one up!

After having a munch, decided to go for a jog in the other Tartosan neighborhood. And you know what? It has me thinking. Maybe Lara’s life would be better without having a job, where she can persue her love of nature freely and- thanks for popping up Active trait, yeah sure. I am literally having her take a jog here so sure. Back home to take care of Lara’s needs and- you know, I was going to have Lara take Izzy to the gym to mentor fitness but nah. We can stay home. Adjust the basement to have some fitness stuff! Now to have an argument and a yelling session to curb a parent being a good friend. No! I am a teen! I must have some distance!

Bed for both Lara and Izzy and that leaves us just the gaming Cameron. Who’s heading int- wait you should take a vacation oh no! Ah well. Ah! Izzy is up at near 4AM! Was wondering the slow down. Let’s get some leftovers and then, well, I suppose vibe until school. And with that! It’s time for-!

Right, first day back to school in ages. Nothing much to do expect vibe I suppose. Have Izzy solve some hard problems in her head, since that’s her whim. Hmm, next is to debate captains with another geek. What geeks do we know… our dad I suppose. Eh, don’t remember when he comes home from work- oh there he is! Oh! Did have enough time for Izzy to make a sandwhich for school. She ate breakfast so she’ll likely be fine for lunch but ya never know.

Alright, off to school, and I suppose we’ll be doing some studying and some working out at the gym before class. Fair enough, fair enough. Hmm. After math we are still studying for exams. -shrugs- I suppose that’s the being the A-Student. Ohp, talk to faculty. Might as well go for the teacher she adores, Rhett. And now, we’re hungry! Had a feeling this lunch of peanut butter sandwhich would come in handy.

Science class and we have chess after this. Suppose we’ll only briefly pop on the computer to try to raise our fun need before heading off. Right, back home and Lara’s whim is to have another kid. Nah. We’ll just focus on your aspiration goal of helping with homework.

Night passes pretty peacefully then. You would think Lara would be sad about arguing with her kid after mentoring with homework but nah. It’s the losing contact with a fellow Garden Gnome Dwight LeBlanc. Alas! Nothing that a workout and a chat on the sadness hotline won’t fix! Sleep for Izzy and Lara. Blast from the Past - Part 4

Right then! Didn’t come back to this last week so might as well do it this week! And pray Meaningful Stories isn’t broken.

First goal is to report to Emit about the experiment. Alas, Cameron is at work. We have Izzy at home instead and it’s her summer vacation. Shame we won’t be really celebrating it thanks to time travel. Day off, social bunny and then bed time! ...Discovery Quests are popping back up again. Ah well, at least the phone one gives Simoleans. After a bath, it’s time to go and report to Emit, who’s impressed we managed to get an email out of that time travel. So one game of chess and then we’ll head back home.

Hmm. Evidently, the time traveler knew of this email heading towards us and so, we are getting a letter from them! Oh we seem to have some other mail too...Ah. It’s a complete collection plaque for those missing milk cartons. Good to know. The letter says, that they were saving some stuff from the past, to the future and have some fun. It seems like we’ll be running into them in time… but for now, they have stuff to pick up ...they’re a burgler aren’t they? Ha. Anyway, next goal is to talk to Emit again and so we shall do so, after Cameron gets his beauty sleep.

Right, Izzy wants share ideas so let’s talk to- ah. It’s time for chess meeting in an hour. Welp. We’ll chat with teen friends later. Annd now she’s sleepy. Ah well. To bed after taking another day off school with you. Lara’s back from work and...she wants to fish! Welp, five fish for Lara! A Kissing Gorumi, a guppy, some upgrade parts and two bass. That’ll do.

Cameron’s finally up so let’s tell Emit about the thief’s intentions. Though it’s midnight so he doesn’t want to come to Cameron’s home. Alas! We shall go to him!

What a normal outfit for Emit. Anyway, Emit considers this no harm, no foul in the end. And so we are left with one last goal. Time to say goodbye.

Fare thee well time traveling man. Fare thee well. Welp! That was also done really quickly. Annoying really! We started out so well with this questline. Anyway, we now have a gigantic cake, that one can dance from and a dance floor!

I believe I have a situation at the ready for this cake.

Go to the bar to try to order a drink and the bartender just vaguely hangs around and is not evidently tending bar. Boo! Finally got the drink just as they were heading off though. Making it time to go home and check on-!

Oh hey! New neighbor! Might drop by, might not! Depends on where they moved to...and it’s the countryside. Nah. No drop ins from this family then.

Hmm. I was going to have Lara finally get to mentor Izzy in gardening, but we evidently need to have level 2 in gardening skill to do that first. Welp, might as well have her read about gardening first. Cameron’s doing a round of hacks, after hacking into the mainframe. Had a whim for practicing programming so time to translate it into that after the hacks. For he is a hackerman after all. And then sleep for him. Ta-daa. Level 2 gardening get so...let’s uh, ah. Still wants to share ideas with someone. But alas, sleep beckons for Izzy as well. Right, work from home for Lara. We got designing circuit boards and then designing new computer hardware. Her afternoon is booked up. And with that, day is done for Lara. Time to rest up!

Hmm. Maybe we could actually take some vacation time now. OHP! We have our first burglar! I was wondering if Cameron, as an Oracle, a hackerman extordinare, would have a unique interaction. ...I see not. Dang! Time to call the police! And then, oh- he decided to fight. OH! He managed to win! Nicely done Cameron! Anyway, with buglar defeated and Cameron working on upgrading the alarm, it’s time to check-

Mm. Glancing at the locations to vacation and one, should take Evergreen Harbor and Willow Creek off and two, eh. There isn’t much to attract the attention of science-focused folk. -shoves Batuu away- Anyway, after lots of time flaffing about with needs and getting Lara to do her gardneing, we’re finally off with Izzy to go and check in with her crush Billie! Well! She’s flirty upon seeing her but ah, her attempts at flirting are going on a bit too strong. Oh dear oh dear. Billie is not as a nerd as you are, Izzy. Alas and alack. Annnnd chess practice. Even on “summer vacation,” can’t escape chess!

Let’s see, back to the parents again then… Cameron wants to- well doesn’t matter what he wants he needs to sleep for work! And Lara wants to flirt with Bella Goth. ...noted. But let’s make friends with her instead. Right, friends with Bella made, we only found out that she was a fellow people person. Hmm. Next whim for Lara is...to mourn the dead. Dang. We have no graves. And especially not of that one lady. Mm. Got asked for a trait swap on Lara to be cheerful. Shame that Cheerful happens because needs are usually high. Nah, her being gloomy is CORE! ...hmm. Maybe it isn’t but we’ll save that for another day.

Anyway, after a nap, it’s time to swarm this place with teens! For it’s TV Season Premiere and teens love the tv season premiere. Especially Izzy. So let’s invite her teen friends over to watch tv! ...Billie is still in a bad mood but hey, crush moodlet has been refreshed. Teens hanged out, and now bed for all. Expect for Cameron, he has to work as a hackerman. Who leaks spoilers online on unpublished books! ...that endings are so bad it’s taken as a bad fanfic. Alas, another troubling day at work for hackerman. Anyway, time for-!

...there is literally a collection that seems to pull on gatcha mechanics, in that, you pay a very sneaky totally-not-three-racoons-in-a-trenchcoat for boxes of their stuff, and you can get scruffed art from them. (Double Animal Crossing reference) And evidently, it was easy and fine getting scruffed arts before but that one last drop to complete the collection took over an hour of spamming the boxes and I'm just like...

Gatcha. They added gatcha. HAAAAAAA!

So I am suddenly realizing that Business and Hobbies allows for people to make essentally venues within game. And it's like...

...I already have a text document about venues in-game that the rich and wealthy people in my Sims file, aka everyone over 100,000 in Simoleans, are interested in and invested in keeping within the community.

Blast from the Past - Part 3

It’s time for the next week of quests for this time-travel questline! First thing’s first!

If we’re going to be making a computer into a time machine, then we need an appropriate room for it! A hackerman’s room! Now then, let us activate this time travel component!

...oh no! Our computer broke! How dare! Well, let’s repair this real quick. And it was truly really quick. Right then, we have goals for eating something, exercising and then asking Emit about all this. Lets...head to the local gym first. He’s in a tense mood so that’ll help out. And with that, it’s lunch time. Nab a burg at the seasonal food stall and then to the park! Magnolia Promenade to be precise. Time to chat with Emit again. Annnd it’s stormy. As it goes. This’ll be a hi-bye situation then. And the solution is to evidently overlock the computer first, so it can use all the power. Yeah that sounds about right.

Right. Cameron needs to sleep so, what to do now? Well I suppose we check in with Lara. Sheeeee, wishes to have a child for successful linage. Eh. You’re more on the 1 on the 1.5 kids per household. So it’s reading to a child for the aspiration, which only works if they’re an actual kid, so skip that. Not having a kid just to skirt around that. And then socializing. Either or, having her gain parenting skill until Izzy is back from chess.

Mm. Izzy is back from chess and man she is grumpy. I guess once she has a bite to eat and a cold shower, I’ll have Lara suggest re-direction. And I will have her take a dip in the local pool. Wish this area was swimable! Ohp! Wait no! Cameron is up! It’s time to overclock a computer! Which is different from normal overclocking. I know! Lara has that and she had a prompt for both the story overclocking and quest overclocking!

Right, everything is set. Now it’s time to give ourselves a pep up talk and then play the Sims Archives again. Spot that time-traveler! ...oh dang! It’s time for work. Maaaan. Shame Cameron has to be a hackerman ...wait, we’re done!? Nooooo! Why!? I want to catch a time-traveler! Ah dang it! Welp, new aspiration and odds and ends are a get. Anyway, I guess that’s all for this time soooo…

Blast from the Past – Part 2

We return! To another week of Blast from the Past? Will Cameron begin to find the truth to mysterious time travel? Lets find out…

Oooo, glad I got a Genius sim on the case then! Right, next goals are to read the History of Time Travel at the library. (We have that book!?) And then study a historical display at a museum. We’re back from work and have plenty of energy. To the library!

...so evidently, by someone aiming to travel through time, time became this material object. And that it’s speculated that while books, movies, (heh, tv shows made from Sims 3) and video games being windows into the past, others believe they are a form of time travel. Hmm. You do know that the Sims 4 is considered an alternative timeline from the original Sims and the Sims 2 and 3. Wonder if that’s going to be touched in on…

Anyway we need some fun and so let’s see what fun thing Cameron comes up with an- -gasp- he’s going for the computer to play a game. Lo and behold, the Sims Archives volume 2 is available! Let’s see…

Mysterious figure spotted! And he has a strange crystal of some sort. All purple-y and broken and a very familiar diamond shape… weird! Anyway, fun gained. To a museum!

I typically count the Van Haunt estate as museum-lite but I don’t think that’ll work for Cameron. So we’re off on a trip to Brindleton Bay!

...oh dear. It’s not clearing off with this uh, display case with a minaturized version of this island in the center. Uhhh, let’s try some art. And if not! PANIC! ...though I think I remember studying historical displays being a Research and Debate skill? Looking through the skills and its...ah! Level 2 Research & Debate! Sh-shouldn’t we have that? Well that’s not good!

Browsing the forums game me some additional ideas and since Cameron needs to eat and sleep at this point, might as well head home.

Ah! Izzy’s home and wants to play chess. The chess table is in Cameron’s room. The room he’s sleeping in. The dad she’s currently feeling hurt by. Leeeets go to the cool chess topiary area in the middle of town! That’s a fun place to do chess with. And get to know chess teammate Molly while at it. Oh hey, she’s a fellow genius! Let’s strike up a friendship!

Right, let’s see. Past 8PM, past library time and she’s sleepy so let’s head home and do homework before turning in.

Now! Let’s see if heading over to Willow Creek or Oasis Spring’s museum fixes the issue for Cameron not being able to progress in the quest! Ahh, the jazz art of Willow Creek. Annnd it does. Huh. Weird. Would make sense that these were designed by base game lots first and foremost but weird.

Next is to ask an elderly sim about the shard! They know things! They’ve been around awhile! Let’s see… we have our late night barkeep but we also have someone Cameron’s been friends with on his list for awhile now. Miguel Baron. Let’s bring him over to Willow Creek’s lounge.

OH YEAH! That’s why Cameron knows this guy. He’s a nanny! Probably personally looked after Isabelle. Annnd oh man! Evidently there are tales of weird crystals that allow for time travel. Well well now. And we have a name now. Shards of Time. To the computer to research!

...evidently the research is corroborated. Maybe.

When your first sentence is “It’s right there on the internet!” I would have doubts but heeeey, this is fringe science and also this is the Sims. This family literally has a space ship ontop of their roof.

Shards found! Now it’s time to report to Emit. He may be tired but I think I can eek out this one last goal and invite him over.

...annnd Emit is surprised we can see them and then that means...we can make our own time machine! WOW. This family just holds allll the cool tech!

Right! So! Lara Fletcher needs a new aspiration since I just passively got past the money making one. I’m thinking...she’s suddenly feeling the pressure of her daughter. And wanting her to enjoy the outside with her. So I feel like the best aspiration to combo for that is Successful Lineage. ...aww man. Can’t force a gal to skill build gardening or work out. Man! I guess Izzy is just going to cry in her room to manage her hurt moodlet. And then write in a journal.

Ooo, since Cameron’s asleep, I suppose we can work from home today with Lara. Dabble with Circuit Boards and Design New Computer Hardware. Might as well! Just as the work from home stuff is finished, Cameron is up and at em! And we have a wind generator in need of repair!

Right! Next goals involve finding metals. I am likely going to have to have a wander around Windenburg’s various bits and bobs first to see about collectables. ...and we got one from the rock pile outside our house! Nice! And suspiciously convenient ...went over to a dirt pile and got an electronic component. Veeeeery convenient… Ohp. Cameron has work so off he shall go.

Right! Izzy is up and at ‘em. Mm. Let’s do some yoga before we just head out to the park to hang out. Like all the late-night teens. But first!

And he’s a party animal as well. ...should really set her up with liking Funny Sims. And you know what? I reference that one post on the Sims forums enough. It’s time to make my own document of Social Compatibility, so I don’t have to keep constantly running online for it.

Right! After that long break of sorting out information, it’s time to go to the library! Izzy’s whim is still related to her aspiration but alas, we have done our homework. It’s time to study! And research! Might as well head to the local library for that! And who’s also there but her father! Reading his own Theoretical Electronics book. (Man I picked such a good Sim for this event) ...having said that, it seems like it’s one of those ones where I have to go to base game, and then such, Willow Creek for this. TO WILLOW CREEK!

Theoretical Electronics read, it’s just the ingredient list for the time travel device. Could have done this first before getting the odds and ends but eh. Also we still need one metal so that’ll be his goal...once he gets more sleep.

...so what the heck to do with Izzy then? I’m thinking...perhaps an arcade visit? But I don’t have any dedicated arcades. Only bowling alleys with arcades in them. But hey, that’ll do. Ah, literally one of the only reasons I pop by Magnolia Promedade is that there is a bowling alley bar there. Anyway, let’s return home and get Izzy to bed. Let Cameron pick up the metal and then...time travel component! Annd created it looks like we’re going to be done this week!

...hey you know what we don’t have as a career track for the Sims? Game dev. We have freelance programming work for games but not actual game development career. Granted, that’s rather unsteady work...anyway, things I think of as I have Lara make a game of her own.

Blast from the Past - Part 1

Back at it again with another limited time event from the Sims 4! This time, it’s the Blast from the Past, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Sims. This is alongside the re-releases of the original Sims and the Sims 2, quite a big time for the Sims games.

I should look up a Sims 2 GBA playthrough. Relive my actual nostalgia.

-ahem- But for now, it’s time to do the limited time event. Wasn’t certain which family I should go with but I think I have one in mind. Cameron Fletcher, and his wife and kid. Cameron’s pretty tech-y and this is supposed to deal with a time-traveler sooooo, he’s my first thought for who would be the best fit for it.

I load into...wait wait, Izzy aged up!? And so did Cameron! Hang on! Hang on! Hang on! Cameron’s now an adult and Izzy is now a teen! Okay! Did not expect that!

Anyway, here’s Izzy. I love her. She is my daughter now. (Even though she’s Cameron’s and Lara’s daughter)

This also means a remodel of Izzy’s bedroom. I decided on the hight of luxury for a wealthy Sim. TWO desks! (The corner had a science table and I didn’t know what else to put there and none of the mental skill related activities appealed)

Ohp! Sorry Cameron. You’re an adult and wearing your college tee into adult years is weird. Time to dad-ify you. (This dad is an underground hacker-man, so ya know)

...oh I also gotta do a teen tradition. Time to break down the relationships of good friends with parents into worse!

Oh, evidently a huge flash of light happened. I was distracted by the ageing up thing! Ugh, I would check the news like the game asks but I wanna wait until Cameron can do it and he’s exhausted. Sleep time for him.

Let’s see. Lara wants to plant something as a part of her outdoorsy thing so uh...eh. I have her garden. Let’s take a jog. Jog done. Uh, let’s have her make a video game? -shrug- Her other whim is staying at home so we can do that just making a video game. Annnd she needs sleep. Welp, let’s nap all the way through what is going to be her work hours.

Cameron’s up! Oh but news only airs from specific times! Let’s wait until 5PM! ...evidently the news will just report on a time traveler. Which...granted, Sims can go into space easily if they can afford it. Cameron can make robotic life and so could his wife if they wanted.

But first, TEEN AND TEEN RELATIONSHIP DAMAGE! I think she likes her dad a lot more than her mom so they’re just devolving down to friends. Ah, he yelled at her back so now she’s hurt. By the by, Cameron was hurt more by this relationship drop than Lara was. At least in terms of pure sentiments.

Anyway, next things next when you hear about a time traveler...you check out his social media. Anyway, it’s a guy with distinctly blue hair which, I don’t think I even give that to my Sims too often sooo, yeah, distinctive. Time to ask other Sims about him! Hey wife! Heard about this guy? No? No. But a recommendation to try the park. Hmm.

Saving here for now it’s time to contact our friends. We have Charity Hand, my Sim, so to speak. (First Sim I rolled up in this personal profile and so very attached) And we also have Naoki Kobayashi.

Charity tells us she was out sim-watching when she heard a bang. I seeeee. Anyway, going to have a bit of a chat before I head over to- ohp. She’s a hothead and she’s pissed! Run away!

We are hungry so plan to meet up at the karaoke joint is denied! Restaurant meeting it is then! Hmm. Same line as Charity...but our next goal is towards Magnolia Blossom Park! And so we shall head off there! ...likely tomorrow because we have work today!

So, Izzy, bed. You have school in the morning. Lara! After working on the game a bit more, bed as well. Oh and repairing a broken down wind generator first.

Right! Teen up! Need gets her needs managed before school. And gets in a focused mood. Cameron home. Cameron eat cereal and collapse into bed. Night shift, all that jazz. (Don’t ask what he was doing at said night shift… Setting up Izzy to make friends at school because otherwise, it’s going to be an age before she gets that teen to teen relationships going.

Lara wants to chat with Belle Brandt, another adopted townie so time to invite her over and ah, Belle’s a fellow co-worker. Good to know!

...OH HOLY SHIT IT’S GEEKCON! We have Geeks here! Man! Shame about that limited time event! It’s distracting from nerd stuff!

But on the other hand, Belle went straight for the robotics workbench! And Lara can mentor in that skill. Thus do we fulfill the whim of becoming friends! Annnd Lara could work from home but let’s send her off to work. Eyes will be on Cameron!

Right, Izzy is back and now it’s time to make teen friends! We have Estrella Locke, random teen. Has a hairstyle that's similar to Siobhan Fyres and is also black sooo, hard not to think of them as similar. Billie Jang, and Tim Malloy, Sim I made! Oh and Sofia Bjgersen. But rivalry with the Bgjgersen’s! Rivalry! But that’s for off-screen and later. For now- Mangolia Blossom!

What a guy. Alright, finally time for me to talk about Emit for all of the uninitiated. Emit was a sim in the Sims 3 expansion, Into the Future. It’s one where the actions you take as a Sim currently could change the future, and a future world. Evidently, there are some items missing he’s inquiring about.

… I would stay and make friends but alas, time to chat with others and get out of the thunderstorms! Friend group! Let’s meet up somewhere where there’s a roof over our heads!

I can’t believe I’m getting reasons to keep chatting with folks outside of the household. Amazing. Anyway, Lara, Charity and Naoki talk with Cameron on what was missing. Naoki is missing a huge cake, Lara had a friend missing a "caliente" dress, and Charity...didn’t notice anything gone. Well well! Mystery abounds! Next step is to try something familiar...play a familiar game… yeah we’re literally going to have Cameron play the Sims. Or rather, the Sims Archives! Totally not the Sims Forever, which already exists in game. Either or, Cameron and Lara are going to enjoy their drinks first before heading home.

Right, it seems that on the Sims Archives, we see some sort of strange footage of someone burying a capsule of some sort...and we just get the feeling, the urge, that this capsule is still out there! And so it is time to dig! In the dirt! And you want to know something good? There’s quite a few dirt piles around here in Windenburg Isle! In fact, there’s a rock right outside our door? Could it be that serendiptious? ...yes indeed it is! We have a time capsule...with an IOU inside? Someone saying that they have no time to explain...but they need some items. -dramatic gasp- Emit! Emit! We got clues!

It’s time to go see Emit and I guess we’re doing it at the park. Please don’t be stormy. It isn’t stormy! And now we are to accuse 3 sims of being a time traveler. Well now. First things first though. Before I end this session, I want make friends with Emit. And thankfully we are at a chess table! Spamming chess until we are friends! Oh! And we got a Self-Assured trait offer with our chess wins. Might as well take that!

So we’re with Lara then! 3 hours until work and it’s time for her to regain her passion for it and try to clear off her fear of a dead end job. You’re at tops of the career baby, I ain’t moving you off of it. Still wants to plant something so another jog shall do ...annnd she needs some sleep but it’s just before work. You know what? Sleep replacement potion. Anyway, a quick shower and then off to work.

...huh. Izzy is already a B student. Nice. Anyway, came from school exhausted so let’s snooze it off. Oh! And let’s let her join the chess team. Oo, gets to know Molly and others on the team but also a rival team member in Aurelio Robles. ...who honestly feels more like an arts kid than any other club but hey. Anyway, friendships with Estrella, Bille, and Tim first and foremost.

Friends with Estrella, who we found out is a Cat Lover and on the football team. And we gain a crush on Billie Jang, goofball. Good to know. Good to know! Hehe

Aww, dad joined in the teen talk and I was going to have him acuse the teens of being time travelers but alas! Instead we shall go...to the bar! Ooo, military person Cameron Boykin. Totally a time traveler.

Anyway, this is very much going to be a hi-bye sort of scenario! I wanna get Izzy off to school! So we’ll get to know Tetsuya and then head home. By the by, he’s a bro and Cameron doesn’t care for Spirited Sims, which a bro definitely is.

Anyway, we’re at school, doing the school things! Ooooo, I’m picking her locker next to Savannah’s. We’ll see if she ever shows up. (Likely not, since I actually played with that family, alas) Lunch time and...no goals to chat with students or faculty. Huh. Well, might as well say hi to Tim and Molly, since they’re both here. Oh that explains it. Career day is happening. What a first day to drop into school with, huh?

Career Day doesn’t offer much for Izzy. I already have a job in mind for her! Ever since she studied on the science table, she wanted to be a Scientist! Or biologist. That was my first idea and I think Scientist is the best option for it.

Anyway, some more chatter with Tim, since he’s also here, reveals he too, is a goofball. Izzy has found herself within the pranksters. Oh what fun! Anyway, chess today so to that she goes.

Alright, nap for Lara and snooze for Cameron since he has work. Oh! And Izzy came back from chess with an outfit. Why don’t I modify it and add the top to everyday? For the days when people wear their formal outfits in school.

Hmm. Might want to change the aspiration though. Since we’re aboslutely going to Uni, we can start with that aspiration, or… yeah, Goal Oriented. That one is way too good of a teen aspiration. Anyway, bed for her.

Cozy Celebrations Part 4

A week and some change later and we got two new quests. Let’s get going and get that grumpy trait!

Right! It’s a fresh new day and it’s Spring Day! Aka Easter. Not quite the celebration Jasmine wants, but it’s the celebration Jasmine gets. Huh. We’re actually getting an event for inviting people over. This is...honestly fitting considering we actually have a holiday. Right, that’ll be this afternoon’s goal. Right now, Jayden needs to go on an egg hunt.

Speaking of which, this specific holiday only really interests Jayden, with said egg hunt and Flower Bunny, and Marcel, who’s cheerful and also likes the Spring Bunny.

Ohhhh, I gotta make note to have Kevin do his homework twice tomorrow. That’s the one step into getting into the next stage of his aspiration, which requires a career day visit and that’s on Tuesday. That part of the aspiration is kinda obnoxious to wait for so uh, let’s make sure to remember to do that.

Let’s see, Sidney is near sleep, though is energized so he likely has more energy than I mind, but let’s just have him enjoy his tunes and dance. Meanwhile, Savannah is hacking and Jayden is going to invite Miki over. He still has friends for his aspiration thing to do! ...I say Savannah is hacking but evidently her computer broke. Might as well have her repair that.

Right, Kevin is hungry and he has the skill needed to make Hallaca. Let’s make Hallaca’s for the family. Annnd, Jayden is sleepy. Not letting you go to bed until you make a new friend kid! Which he made so let’s go to snooze. Marcel had casual chatter with Kevin while waiting for the hallacas. Not quite a breakfast dish but hey.

Ohp! It’s the afternoon and the Flower Bunny has arrived! Time for Marcel to say hello! Let’s see uh, do not know what to do with- wait! Goals! Inviting Sims over! Even if we already counted this by inviting some folks over, and letting an older adult that hung at the door that Janae invited in drop by, might as well have Kevin invite his school acquaintances over. ...all of his school acquaintances are girls. Ooooooooo! (hehehe) Compliment appearance for Olivia? No? Still didn’t work. Dang. To social bunny! ...where he asked Olivia to be a pillow fight partner. Sure, why not? Annnd now Kevin has an offical crush on Olivia. Aww.

Right, Savannah wants to talk to her mother so sure, but she’s going to slide some insults to her uncool father while at it...earning some yelling from her mother because HOW DARE! Anyway, now all teens are retreating to bed, leaving me with just Janae and Marcel.

Right, next, Janae wants to make another friend. Think I’ll go with Mele Kahananui….maybe. She needs to take a bath and other such things and that’s eating up time to head out. Especially since she has work tomorrow. Right, I’m just going to invite her over to chat about stuff now. Closing in on bedtime for her, which is not going for going out...but going for bringing someone else over! Heh!

10PM! Both Sidney and Jayden woke up but now it’s time for them to return to bed! Snooze some more for the school you’ll both have in the morning! Mmm. Had Marcel train up his logic skill for his aspiration, might as well have him read a book for his whims then. And then write something. Back to bed Savannah! School and you needs more sleep for it! Same for you Kevin! Have a munch and a shower and then, bed! This leaves the not-working-tomorrow Marcel as the last person standing.

Right, there is also a thing I gotta note. Our last goal for now is to sing songs with an instrument. Aka, instrument level 3 and then just singing. This, I like! Well I like learning instruments and playing tunes in Sims 4 in general but Kevin already has a guitar in his room! I have a natural lead in!

Oh yeah! Stuffing the NAP ballot! Might as well use all of Sidney’s sweet influence points to ratchet up the fitness NAP all the way up. Gah. Janae has the sad moodlet from ignoring a holiday. Should have had her hunt some eggs or something.

...huh!? Somehow I cleared off the song thing! Huh? -shrugs wildly-

Right, so uh, one of them is to watch tv on the new one given in the event, and the other is to prepare hot cocoa. Okay, that’s an after-school thing. And after homework. Right, all kids, and Janae, are heading off to school and work now. And Marcel is a snoozing. Just waiting on Marcel to wake up at the moment. Goal is to, complete work task! Nice. Let’s write some more books! Kids are back but soon they shall leave once more. Be off to after-school activities and all that!

Oh! The adult Jayden wanted to befriend is evil. Wow. Uh, still doing it though. He only knows so many adults at the moment and has already befriended his parents.

By the by, both Kevin and Sidney are super stressed. Well Kevin is ultra stressed from a teen moodlet being 50 plus and Sidney is just stressed from working to hard at school. But that means Kevin can’t do his homework. Which, unacceptable! Focused potion from aspiration points is a go!

Aha! Marcel got the music lover pop up from listening to tunes. NOW, I can accept this trait.

Janae got the Cheerful trait pop up and eh, she strikes me as having a stronger head on her shoulders than to be carefree all the time. Not for her, Sims, not for her.

Hmm. I should at least have Sidney do his homework. He strikes me as being the grade A student and he’s the only one not at B at the moment. Also, double homework for Kevin is going tricky thanks to the stressed thing. Thankfully, Marcel is there to help him out. ...man, he’s being more of a dad to Kevin than he is to his actual son. Eh, not that I think Sidney minds much. ...you know what I always appricate? People doing homework together get passive friendship gain. As it goes! ...that didn’t complete Kevin’s aspiration!? ...we’re cheating, dang it! And now, after a very long day, Kevin and Sidney are retreating to bed, with Marcel being the only one up now. And doing chess!

Now that things have calmed down, might as well set up the new tv and the hot cocoa for tomorrow. Today was too stressful and I was focused on the double homework thing for Kevin today.

Right, the only time I remember packing lunches for lunch is when I’m working at an active career. Including school. So Sidney, after having his breakfast, takes the last leftover burgers I had and brings them to school. I also sorted out a hot drink...not hot cocoa though, but coffee. Kevin and Sidney are likely going to need it.

While I’m at school, I feel like scheduling a programming festival. Annnnd that’ll happen...at 5PM tomorrow. Nice. Good to know. Ah, not much time for lunch. It’s career day, after all. Grab an apple from your locker Savannah and we’ll eat our food at the auditorium.

Right, career day. We have a selection of three base game careers showing up to present stuff. Good for storytelling. We have an athlete, my famous created Sim Francisco Cruz. We have my vampire hunter but lives as a normal chef, Noel Grey. And we have a random Sim repping the criminal career. How does that happen? I dunno. Again, Sidney and Kevin don’t have goals but Savannah does. Not that she cares that much for this event. She’s just kinda coasting on school for the most part!

Right, that’s all the things I think I can do with everyone, since Kevin chatted with all the folks, but I don’t think he could report in to the teacher to get a moodlet on how he feels about all these careers. Alas!

...I flirt with Pierce Delgato with Sidney to get his liking of boys set, and then he falls for class clown/fellow cheer member Tim Malloy. Ahhhh well. Well, after I take these teens home so Savannah and Kevin can head off to programming practice freely, might as well just go ahead and meet with Tim somewhere. For I have not yet gone to Thrift-Tea! ...saving real quick in case goals drop. Let’s see. Traits for Tim are bro and goofball. -glances over at rival Noah Kane having similar traits- Annnd Sidney needs to snooze. Back to home we go.

Right, tv was used automatically, as one does, so let’s take it out. I want my fireplace back. Let’s serve some hot cocoa as well. Gaming and then- welp, again, the computer request I did not know would happen has already dropped. Dang.

Ooo, seems the hot chocolate gives a confident moodlet. Time to make note of that in my moodlets file.

Oh I didn’t realize I was onto the next stage with Janae and her aspiration. Time for her to career hop! And with that, we clear her fear of a dead end job right out of the way. Which is why I never resolved to clear it in the first place, since I knew what the aspiration would bring. Let’s see. Highest skill is fitness and ooooooh. Rocket Scientist. And for once, it feels fitting!

Right. Uh. I don’t have anything in mind with Marcel so with the computer thing needing to be done, let’s go make another save real quick! Save made, reports made to Jasmine. So what do I think about this whole thing? I think I need to see if there’s a bug report about computer tasks not showing up, that’s what. Okay but also, eh? There really wasn’t that much to report or do in terms of skilling. Most I got was bonding between Kevin and Marcel which hey, that does count after all.

Right, uh, back to this main save file, I might as well hmm...I guess continue leveling logic for Marcel’s aspiration. His whims are to check in on Jayden, who’s asleep, and to take a vacation day but it’s been too long since he’s been at work and he’s close to a promotion!

Level 6 logic get! We’re onto the next stage of Marcel’s aspiration. Which involves...rocket ships. Farewell big tree in the yard, we need to cut you down to make a launch pad!

So Marcel has level 3 baking skill and oooo, we can make bagels now! Nice nice nice. We’ll have a bagel and then head to bed.

And Sidney is awake. We might actually have time to get that jog in before he heads off to school. Anyway, time to check-!

Kristopher Volkov in the Volkov household left his job as a Freelance Programmer in the Freelance Programmer career.

So that’s the Cozy Celebrations quest done and dusted. What do I think about them? Well, since they aren’t as involved as the Reaper’s Rewards one is, I could easily fit it more in within it’s rather generous time-frame. Buuuuut, man did I not get any good ideas off of this. Alexander getting into plants was a nice change but I don’t have much comparable for Kevin to get into. The most I got was the family dynamic changes of Kevin getting rather close to Marcel, and Marcel becoming hated by his daughter. -shrug- Ah well. Can’t really simulate a big family gathering for the holidays when this is as big as the family is.

Also, again, need to check that computer tasks not be available to complete if you've left the home lot. Could be a mod bug.

Anyway, we’re not done with this family. I spend 15 or so days with family households until I rotate, and we got 5 days more to go! See you all next time!

Right, so in an entirely new save, I researched the holiday thing. I got real attached to my new guy Ernesto, an elderly comedian, when making him, so I’m going to place him in my main file. ‘sides! Would make sense for Ernesto to meet Kevin and pass along his documentation over.

Anyway, now it’s Talk Like a Pirate Day. Kids, and therefore Jayden, love this holiday. ...I’m very much inclined to just have him head out to the park but let’s sort out needs. Sidney won prom royalty! Fitting but this is my first time seeing this happen! Sweet! And thanks to dancing filling the goal list thing for prom rapidly as it kept spawning, he actually got a gold tiered event! Woo! Fantastic prom all around!

Most of the teens vanished for the after-prom once it was past midnight but not Kevin, who I brought along to tell the story of prom night, Ken, because of course, he was the one that we invited over, and Kaori, who joined the group? -shrug-

That being said, I don’t have too terribly much to do this late at night. Might as well have Ken and Sidney go on the haunted house ride and Kaori and Kevin try the ferris wheel. ...didn’t seem to work in Kevin’s case but hey, worked out for Sidney. Right, one uneventful haunted house ride done! Time to head home.

Cozy Celebrations Part 2!

It is time for round 2 of Cozy Celebrations! And weeks 2 and 3 (and now 4!) are now available. Let us see what we have in store!

Jasmine pops up again and it’s...time to chat with 3 more folks about holiday traditions and then cook Brigaderio. But first, NAPs! I haven’t played in this neighborhood before so it’s time to set some! Marcel will go for creative arts NAP. ...how the heck does Janae have 200 influence points!? Ah well, creative NAP is assured at this point then.

Setting Jayden to chat with Kevin, since evidently in the household description, Jayden’s supposed to look up to Kevin. Might as well have Kevin ask Jayden about holiday traditions. “In my home, you can tell it was the holidays when all was playing was the Winter Holiday radio station.” Bold face lie that! The blues is what’s playing day in and day out!

...so Janae got the Music Lover pop up while writing? Nah, ain’t accepting that trait! Give us bookworm or creative next time!

Ohp, Jayden maxed social while getting this chat in with Kevin. That’s one skill we don’t have to worry about for him!

Right, teens and kids! Nap time before school for all of you! Blues tunes for Marcel before bed and Janae wants to get a promotion so let’s have her look at the stars. Which ties into her aspiration to get 3 logic! Right, holding off of the last night chat about holiday traditions because it’ll be time to bring Kevin and other teens to school. I will have plenty of opportunity to do it there.

Snap, a bug that’s rended it’s head in another file is true here. The goals for school only are showing up for one of the selected students. Ah well. Hmm. Right, whims and sleep and everyone off to school has been done. Now Marcel’s whims are reading a book and looking on the brightside...which I can only do while he’s in a bad mood and after that holiday, he’s doing peachy.

Let’s see. I’ll set Jayden up with his school project. It’s Monday so all kids and teens get sent home with those since I haven’t gone into school yet. But now, it’s finally time for Kevin to ask a teen about their holiday traditions! It is done and now we are to document said traditions!

Right, we’re onto next week’s and oooo! It’s time to make some chocolate chip cookies and coquito! Kevin, it’s time to raise your cooking skill! And we need to learn some mixology skill as well. I’ll leave that up to Marcel.

Right, at school. Doing the usual “first day” orientation. And class, which is social studies. Gives writing, selvadoradian culture and archeology skill. A nice trio there ...you know what I always appricate about school food. It looks just unappealing enough that I’m always like “ugh, I should bring food from home.”

Right had food, introduced Kevin and Sidney to more teens! And then we’re back at class. Language Arts. Which I nearly said English. But it is NOT! If anything it’s Simlish. Anyway, it’s writing skill.

And you know what? I decided to set up a cheer team for Sidney! Since cheering is such a social activity and all that jazz. At some point, should drop by Willow Creek and add a cheering area. FAREWELL YOGA MATS. We have a new purpose for that upper corner now!

...and the watch TV event cleared off as I came home. Ah, because Marcel and Jayden are in seperate corners of the house, watching seperate things. Hmm. To that I say...nah. Let’s actually get the whole family together to watch a movie. Might as well make some “juice” while Janae makes supper.

Right, today is a send-the-kids-off-to-school day and so, off they go! And once Janae leaves off for work, this leaves Marcel the sole person left in this household. And he has a want. Sure that’s a fun title that could work for a book.

Kids and teens are back from school. Oooo, Savannah wants to be disliked by her high school rival Molly. Why don’t we head over to her house and get a-poking at her. Meanwhile, Kevin wants to be romantic and, well, Olivia Kim-Lewis is now available! ...oh she did not like that. Whoops! Probably the social awkwardness kicking in, since he barely knows her ...Kevin can perform a smooth recovery!? What is this? Nah. Not yet.

Right, looks like today is...I want to guess Business, judging by the whiteboard and charisma gain. Aha, Savannah got a pop up about how business class is reading a book about someone who’s already rich giving advice. Thankfully, her teacher approved her pointing that out.

Oooooh! Holy crap! Marcel got a fame pop up about getting a movie deal out of his books! That’s cool! He wouldn’t care about not retaining creative freedom. MOVIE! And unintetionally gets suckered into making his book a series. Good thing we didn’t publish any books yet so I can still write whatever! Hehe.

Jayden is up first though, and is hungry. Time for food for everyone who wakes. Huh. I got a good segway into asking about holiday songs. Jadyen put on pop tunes, which Savannah hates so she’s going to blame him for the bad mood. We now have listening to winter holiday station. Kinda out of season, since it’s spring but ah well. I ain’t waiting until winter to do this event.

Oooh, a broken toilet! Finally! Time for Marcel to repair an object! Next’ll be a logic skill gain, which we’ll get in time.

Right! Save and then we’ll head off to the library! Marcel wants to meet someone new and the library is a good place for it! Bernice Robles! Nerdy businesswoman. Let’s work on the next book though, get some good progress in before we get some lunch at the restaurant across the street. Could go for a simple munch at a food stand but again, it broke. And I want lunch out!

Special is...ooo, fancy. Steak Tartare! (Despite the fact it’s level 1 homemade cooking because it’s raw meat and egg) Lunch took so long that it’s dinner, then again, it was 2PM. But it’s past 5 and so it’s cheer day! Let’s go home and pick up Sidney and then head over to school!

Right, if I remember right, my work-around was to make a completely different sim family and that would reset it. Cool. Good to know. I’m still going to play out this specific day!

Cozy Celebrations Part 1

I uh, didn’t actually finish my report on the Reaper’s Rewards thing did I? Did manage to complete the event in time but man was I exhausted by the end of it. But it seems the Sims team isn’t letting up and giving us another holiday to nab free stuff in.

Right! I don’t know about this holiday tradition one yet so hmm. Why don’t I pick based on a world where I would think would be fitting for the Winter holidays? Because Willow Creek ain’t it, grumble. ...well this won’t be random anymore but I really enjoy Copperdale’s world from High School Years. Now whomst, oh whomst would be the protagonist of an explore-holidays questline? Well, I got two options.

First we have Kevin Puri, from the Price household! A socially awkward romantic transfer student to Copperdale! (Never mind that all played teen sims everywhere will go to Copperdale but shhhhhhhh.) My other thought is that of Noah Kane, of the Harjo household. A party animal and a goofball, perfect for holiday spirit! But I love the new kid vibe that Kevin has and he’d lend well to learning new traditions.

Assigning beds to this family and we have our first goals. Ask other Sims about their holiday traditions and to cook Japache. Time to talk to family members about this!

...huh. Interesting. Don’t remember that being a holiday tradition but we must live in a household of GAMERS. Next we got cloudgazing or stargazing and cooking Japachae. ...I’ll save the Japachae for supper but I guess the teens can stargaze now at 5AM.

Let’s get to know him at the very least. ...he’s mean. Glorious. Let’s play in the snow until folks arrive. Folks have an arrived and an adult is talking to us! Might as well say hi. Adult leaves so next onto Nadine Bower. Teen! And Hiroko Takeuchi, child! Get to know both! She moved to the swing set so let’s join her! Oh, and some townie child sims, the ones in homes, are here as well! Say hi to them as well! Miki Akiyama would be good to know. Right, Yua Ueda, the swing child, is a Child of the Island and Miki is a goofball. Well, I know who I’d want to make my best friend. Sorry Banana! You’re mean! Oh! But we can have a snowball fight with all four kids! ...aww, there goes Miki. Alas. And with a bit more socializing afterwards, we actually make our friend in Yua! Nice nice. Right! We’re hungry so lets head home! Need to swing the spotlight to others anyway.

Okay. Janae needs a hobby. She wants to craft things as a perfectionist so she needs a hobby. ...let’s go with writing. And the only books she can write so far are children’s ones. Eh. Let’s just set her to practising writing for now. Right, everyone wants to vibe with tunes so let’s vibe with tunes. Annnd it’s a Saturday and I forgot about Prom. Nope! Sidney was up and available to make japache so making japache he did! It’s evidently a Korean dish used for celebrations. And thus we are evidently done with the quest for now. This one looks to be a LOT chiller in actually doing things.

Hmm. I was going to have Sidney strike out to go make teen friends, I know teens hang out at parks at night, but hmmmmmm. Does he have the energy for it? ...eh, he has enough. Let’s go out and make teen friends for your aspriation! (Because everyone in this household keeps getting music based whims) We got an introduction to Thadeus Dumas, a sad and gloomy teen, and introduced our selves to teen sim celebrity Kiara Wallace. Famed for her abstract art and graffiti! She’s still only a celebrity acquaintance but that’ll count for the introduction part of the aspiration. And thus, did exhaustion set in for Sidney. To home and to bed!

Right, Janae wants to still create something so back to the computer with her. Marcel, the father, wants to listen to tunes so we can do that, and have him read a book. Homework for Kevin which ties into his aspiration. And...Jayce wants to make a BFF. Miki Akiyama looks to be his best bet for friend out of all the people he met. But I dunno. I think she might have other friends to think of so I’m going for the kid with the Insider trait, Hiroko. Anyway, it’s 5AM and time for-!
