Danny’s ghost sense in Public Enemies

something I find interesting is that Jack is called an incompetent ghost hunter because of his aim, but when we see him go into physical hand-to-hand and abandon anything that requires aiming, he's really good at it.
Million Dollar Ghost is where Jack really gets to shine. He absolutely kicks Vlad's ass, and Vlad is an extremely powerful ghost.

Vlad is powerful enough that he gives Danny a massive run for his money, and Danny is an extremely powerful ghost. In Kindred Spirits he fucking vaporizes part of a golf course.

Jack, meanwhile, is throwing Vlad around like it's nothing.
Not to mention how, in Masters of All Time, Danny is able to "fight" his father's alternate half ghost self relatively unscathed until Jack starts using fists instead.

His aim is to be expected, but he throws Danny through the floor into the basement lab, a basement lab which is likely reinforced.

He then punches Danny so hard he launches him through the basement ceiling again and the other two floors of the house.

Granted, Danny is very much not fighting back at all, but he straight up got launched, to the point where he slams into a billboard with what seems to be very little lost velocity.

This is around the midpoint of season 2. The last time Danny got thrown around like this by some random ghost that wasn't Vlad (not counting Pariah Dark) (that I can recall on short notice w/out the opportunity to rewatch every episode) was in season 1. Even though this is with ghost powers of some kind, I highly doubt Jack was training himself the way Vlad must have been. To be that strong without honing the abilities at all? Jack is terrifying.
It makes me wonder how much of a force of nature he would have been if the Ecto-Skeleton had worked out. We see him kick the shit out of the Fright Knight with just the pants, imagine him in the full armor!

I know I'm not the only one but I would absolutely watch a spinoff of ML but it's Mister Bug and Lady Noire instead

Not 100% how I feel about this one, but it’s the thought that matters.

I know I've said it before but I'm saying it again, I just absolutely adore how Danny's eyes glow green in human form when he's getting particularly mischievous, not just when he's especially angry

Like this boy has a built in warning signal for when he's about to be a little menace to society and I love that for him
#danny phantom#danny fenton#sighhhhh i need to do better about adding this into my fics and stuff#bc it's a little thing that just gives me so much enjoyment#i love acknowledging good boi danny ofc#but i also love acknowledging his ability and love of being a little turd

Why do majority of the Danny Phantom fanfics these days have the Fenton parents be evil?
Instead letting them have an arc where they can learn and grow and be interesting characters on their own, they are just written off as evil abusers? So much fan work now is "And then Danny runs away to live with BATMAN and batman makes it so he never has to worry about his evil parents again."
Them being just evil is so much more boring then them being good hearted but flawed people. Like its just leaving so much juicy drama on the table. Like lets start with....Maddie and Jack are FASCINATED by ghosts....but also they hate them? Why is that? Do they have a reason? Why do neither Danny or ESPECIALLY Jazz ask them this? Why if they think ghosts are so evil and dangerous, did they open a door to their world?
The boring evil fenton answer is "because evil mad scientists"
Like clearly people have not rewatched DP in a LONG time because people have forgotten that danny loves his parents and his parents love him? I literally saw a fic that involved them abusing danny after an identity reveal and is was tagged "canon typical violence" ?????????? Um no???? The fentons beating their children isnt canon?????????

Am I missing something or just stupid or something? Bc I've been noticing an influx of fics on AO3 tagged with both the "Graphic Depictions of Violence" warning and then also with "Canon Typical Violence" and those tags are like??? Contradictory to each other???
Like. The show is rated Y7. By definition there's nothing graphic about the violence. It's sanitized, kid-friendly violence. So therefore "Canon Typical Violence" should be at the same level. And therefore not a graphic depiction.
I mean I guess I get it if you're trying to cover all your bases or something, like if not every moment of violence is graphic, but really you don't need both tags, bc how am I as a person scrolling thru AO3 supposed to know which tag you truly mean? Is this some etiquette thing I'm clueless to or what?
Ig I'm just frustrated with the phandom's ability to tag things properly lately
#danny phantom#idk if it's also bc there's been more and more ppl writing fics#who have never seen the show#and are only going based off the fanon tropes that get populated around#and so they think canon is way more violent than it actually is#either way it's frustrating

You know for all that the Fenton's are seen by the fandom as A+ parents, I really don't think anyone has really put any though into WHY they are like that.
Because its VERY clear that Butch bitchman has parent issues, if the Fenton's ACTUALLY acted based on their trauma with how they lost Vlad then they would be almost OBSESSIVE with how safe they are in the lab. They lost their best friend to a lab accident that nearly killed him and unknown chemicals/elements, you're telling me that wouldn't fundamentally scar 20 somethings actively prosuing beings that they see as dangerous? You're telling me they wouldn't look at the destruction of the lab and suddenly ask themselves how could this have happened? How could've they prevented this?
And if you REALLY like the Angst of the Fentons, imagine what it would do to them to realize the ONE time, ONE TIME, they didn't double and triple check the safety of their portal it cost them their son's life.
Anyway I really think it would've been more interesting if the Fentons were obsessed with lab safety and the inherent tragedy of their lives related to that.
Regulations are written in blood and the Fentons have learned this lesson twice over.
